Paul Donald Vetter, age, 65, passed away surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home on Friday, September 8, 2023. Paul was born on Friday, December 13th in 1957 and came into this world like a force of nature. He married the love of his life, Joan (Masshardt) Vetter, on August 11th, 1978. Paul dedicated his career to working for the Dane County Highway Department for 35 years, working his way up to Highway Supervisor. After retiring from the County, he went on to dedicate to his time to taking care of his grandchildren and becoming a Foster Parent alongside Joan. Paul was a pillar to his family and many families throughout being a Foster Parents for 10-years. The 100+ lives kiddos his heart touched throughout the Foster Care journey was incredible. While not cracking awful "dad" jokes, he liked to spend his time outside in the yard on a lawnmower and catering events with his "Big Cooker". Paul loved to grill and has fed many people delicious food with a side of humor, laughter, and his unique humor. His generous heart drew many people to listen to his stories and banter with him. The smile when anyone came for seconds (food or more stories) was infectious, beautiful and endearing. Paul is survived by his wife, Joan Vetter (whom he stole from another boyfriend 50 years ago), his daughter Bridget and her three children: Ella, Emma, and Ezra; his daughter Melissa and her great love, Dean Nortman, and her son Calvin. Not to mention the family, friends, and foster children that had the pleasure to know and understand the legacy he is leaving. Paul's legacy will live on, and his celebration of life will take place at his home (9139 N. Raven Court in Milton, WI) on Saturday, October 21st from 1pm - 4pm. We ask you join us in good food, laugher, jokes and all the stories you can tell about a great man who left too soon - but not without kidding around with all of his loved ones before he left like the force of nature he was. In lieu of any donations to the family, we ask that you continue Paul's voice to advocate for the children and donate to CASA of Rock County. https://www. casarockcounty. org/donateThe Albrecht Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Milton is assisting the family with arrangements.
