December 5, 2023

It is with great sadness that our family is announcing the passing of Paul F Trussell, the husband of Lois (56 years) and father to three children: Elizabeth, Peter, and James on Sunday December 3, 2023, at his home in Piermont. He died from complications of Alzheimer's Dementia at 85. Paul was born in 1938 - a 5 lb baby that could fit inside a dresser drawer. He had a difficult childhood which interfered with his schooling. Paul finally earned his GED with the help of his wife, Lois. All three of our parents' children would go on to receive degrees beyond high school due to their encouragement. Paul held many jobs from working in lumbering (mills and with horses to cut lumber), apprenticing with Chauncy Willey for ten years learning plumbing and electrical work, helping with the Thetford Water Works, working for Bradford Oil Company and then Dead River Company as an oil burner technician /maintenance tech before ending his working career by operating his own oil technician/maintenance business. During these years, Paul kept taking classes that resulted in him earning his Journeyman Plumbing Licenses in both Vermont and New Hampshire. Paul was known for not talking very much as well as being stubborn. He was also known for having many tools and parts around his garage and trucks. No one else understood his system, but if you asked him for something he could find it for you. Paul was also known for his love of hunting dogs, country music and wanting to help people. Paul is predeceased by his parents, his in-laws, his sister Jackie Brown, brothers Bob Trussell, Bruce Trussell, Roger Trussell, a niece Crystal Trussell and granddaughters Katelynn Sargent and Tiffany Sargent. Paul is survived by his wife Lois (Bishop) Trussell, their children Elizabeth Trussell, Peter Trussell and James Trussell and his wife Ann, his youngest brother Larry Trussell, cousins Ramona Becker, Shirley Gendron, Mona Stearns and Polly Stearns, granddaughter Samantha Sargent, eight great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews, and close friends. Earlene spent many years driving a school bus for JPI Transportation and Linwood school where she made an impact on so many lives. She was an extremely hard worker and her compassion and understanding for the kids on her bus route was unmatched. She had such a loving soul. When Earlene wasn't working, she loved spending her time with her kids, family, friends, and animals. She absolutely loved the color purple, cooking for her family and friends, and sitting on the beach while watching her kids swim. She loved her kids more than anything. She is survived by her daughter Kerbi and her partner Carl, sons Joe and Jacob and her two youngest John and Lexi. Her two beautiful granddaughters Kihanna and Julianni who she loved dearly. Bonus' daughter Ashlee and her husband Marvin Mondragon as well as her sister in law Marie and husband Norman Longmoore who did so much for our mom. Her older sister Elynor and her husband Scott Gardner and her younger brother John Hagan Jr and his wife Jessica. She truly would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need and especially those she cared for. She loved her animals, especially her boy Gunner who loved her like no other. She had a deep love of coffee and her pallmall menthol light 100's. In her final days she was surrounded by her kids, grandkids, her sister-in-law Marie, her bonus daughter Ashlee and others who loved her dearly. If you knew Earlene, you knew she was a wise cracking, down to earth firecracker who could make you laugh until your sides hurt and kick your butt when you needed it. She told it like it was and never held back. She was a true force of nature in the absolute best way. Even in her final days all she worried about was the people around her. Joan Lang

Joan Lang

Age - 77

November 26, 2023

Joan has turned her last page and grabbed her last handful of peanut M&M's. Joan Irene Lang, 77, passed away on Monday, November 20th, 2023. She was born on October 27th, 1946, in Ludlow, MA to Lyle and Ruth (Reynolds) Lang. She graduated from Maloney High School in Meriden, CT in 1964, then continued her education at St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1967. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of New England and went on to become a nurse practitioner at Northeastern University in Boston. She worked at the Boston Children's Hospital, the Child Health Center in St. Johnsbury, VT, at the practice of Drs. Graham, Russell, and Manges, as well as many other local agencies throughout the years. Joan was a people person, always finding a familiar face in a crowd from many years of working in local communities and especially in Concord, VT, as she was a beloved nurse practitioner at the Concord Health Center. She enjoyed working with local residents, as well as the LGBTQ community; she made everyone feel welcome and respected and always had time for a chat. She loved to read: she always had a stack or two of books by her couch and a pile of Boston Globes on the kitchen table. She was an avid Boston Celtics and Red Sox fan and adored watching the games with family, often falling asleep at her brother John's house. She thoroughly enjoyed attending her nieces' and nephews' sporting events. She loved the ocean, going to concerts, and listening to Diana Ross and the Supremes and the Beach Boys. On her trips to Boston, she always made time for the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and ended up with many framed posters inside her home. Joan was proud of her Irish heritage and threw some well-remembered St. Patrick's Day parties. She was notoriously late to all family functions. If Joan were having a funeral, she would be late for it. When you opened her car door, the aroma of McDonald's wafted out; she loved going to Carmen's for an ice cream cone and was deeply saddened when Tab, her beverage of choice, was discontinued. You could always find giant Boston ferns, spider plants, and philodendrons sprinkled throughout her home; she enjoyed flowers and gardening (well, buying plants and hiring her nieces to plant them for her). Joan got her last wish and passed away peacefully as a resident of the Pines, Lyndonville, VT. Staff at the Pines were very caring and compassionate and always could get a laugh out of her. She is survived by two sisters, Linda M. Hall of Monroe, NH, and Ann L. Fillion of Littleton, NH, and two brothers, John G. Lang and his wife Sandra of Monroe, NH, and David L. Lang and his wife Christine of Wallingford, CT, as well as many nieces and nephews and three great nieces & one great nephew. A private family memorial will take place in the spring.
