WORCESTER: Paul V. Meleski, 62, passed away at home August 30, 2023. He leaves his brother Michael Meleski and his wife Tracy (Bazegian) and their children Spencer and Giustina. He was predeceased by his parents Irene (Jonitis) and William Meleski. Paul was born November 12, 1960 in Worcester and was a lifelong Vernon Hill resident. Paul was a graduate of St. John's High School ('78) and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in wildlife biology from UMass-Amherst. He remained a loyal UMass alumnus and was known to travel across New England to support all UMass athletics. Paul was a unique sort of renaissance man and had many interests. Known by many as "Mr. Worcester", Paul supported Worcester politics and volunteered to advance causes that resonated with him. He was a longtime volunteer at The Hanover Theatre and loved the arts. Paul was passionate about ornithology and volunteered his time to assist with bird counts throughout Massachusetts. His love of the outdoors led him to hike the entire Appalachian Trail and was known to often pick up and explore New England and beyond. Paul had a curiosity about him which led to lifelong projects including a mission to personally walk every street in Worcester and to visit & photograph each town/city hall in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. He succeeded in both. Those who loved him will remember the private side to his personality though he was glad to have a close circle of people that he cared about in his life like the "Vernon Hillers". GRAFTON: Arthur Francis Marando, 81, passed away surrounded by family, on Friday morning, December 1, 2023 of complications from a long illness. Arthur was born and raised in South Grafton, Massachusetts, and lived in the town his entire life. He was the son of the late Arthur H. Marando and Louise H. (Rybak) Marando. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas D. Marando and a grandson David Hemingway. Arthur leaves his wife Linda (Adams) Marando and his sister Ilene Marando both of Grafton. He leaves his children David and his wife Angela, his daughter Cheryl and her husband Dave Woskie, and his daughter Beth and her husband David Patulak. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Matthew, Anthony, David, and Dylan. Arthur graduated from Grafton High School in 1960 where he played football. He worked with his father and brother in the family milk hauling and trucking business A. H. Marando and Sons. In addition, he worked for many years with his son, daughters, wife, brother, and father in various family-owned dairy farms. Arthur ran a dairy farm in various locations for over 60 years. He owned and operated the Maplewood Dairy Farm in South Grafton for 30 years which was the last working dairy farm in the town of Grafton. Besides farming, he was a volunteer fireman for the Grafton Fire Department in his younger days. He was a member of Saint James Church in South Grafton where he taught CCD for many years. Later in life, he drove a school bus for Blackstone Valley Technical High School. He loved driving the bus and spending time with the kids as he brought them to school and various activities. Age - 75

WORCESTER/GRAFTON: Patricia (Gamache) Stoll, 75, passed away after an illness December 1, 2023. Her husband James L. Stoll predeceased her in 2015. She leaves her sons Stephen, Ernie and Timothy Stoll, her grandchildren Jasmine, Skylar, Cody, and Hailey, her great-grandchildren Ian and Weston, her sisters Barbara Gamache, Lynn Bertel and Karen Gamache. She was predeceased by her sister Arline Gamache and brother Richard Gamache and great-granddaughter Aubree. Patricia was born April 19, 1948 in Worcester, daughter of the late Edith (O'Brien) and Ernest Gamache. She lived in Grafton for many years with her husband Jim and more recently in Worcester. Before her retirement Patricia worked as a daycare provider and earlier at Tupperware. Away from work she loved all things Disney, crocheting or building puzzles and she was always up for a card game with family and friends. Lorraine Berube

Age - 88

GRAFTON: Lorraine C. Berube, 88, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2023, at her residence at Southgate of Shrewsbury. She is predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Leonard J. Berube. She is survived by her children Celeste Allain and her husband, Richard, of Grafton, Carl Berube of Franklin, Virginia, John Berube and Christine Graham of Skowhegan, Maine, and Susan Schroeder and her husband, Carl, of Millbury, Massachusetts, along with her grandchildren Matthew, Tiffany, Katherine, Sarah, Noah, Orrin, Anthony, Nicole, and Jarrett, and her great-grandchildren Sadie, Henry, Leo, and Nolan, as well as many nieces and nephews. Lorraine was one of twelve children and is survived by her sisters Irene Lopes, Jeanne Pimental, Claudette Moran, Theresa St. Laurent, Denise Berube, Ann Marie Folster, and her brother Richard Folster. She was the sister of the late Reverend John Folster, Norman Folster, Dolores Gossic, and Jacqueline Beaudoin. Lorraine was born on February 2, 1935, in Fall River, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Eglantine (Allard) and Joseph Folster. After moving to Swansea for a few years, she became a long-time resident of Grafton where she was to spend the rest of her life until moving to Southgate of Shrewsbury, where she was lovingly cared for by Laura's Guardian Angels during her last year of life. As a Grafton resident, Lorraine was very active in her community. She was a Girl Scout leader and a member of the Women's Auxiliary at the Grafton American Legion Post 92. She was a member of St. Philip Church. Lorraine was a lifelong seamstress and maker of many crafts. She made untold numbers of quilts, many of which she gave away because it made her so happy that people would enjoy them. She also taught crafts as a volunteer at the Grafton Senior Center. She became known as the "Mitten Lady" for all of the mittens she made and donated to various charities. She enjoyed many other activities and pastimes, including gardening, canning, baking, reading, and camping, especially at Maple Park in Wareham. She also loved to take long walks. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family, and always made sure everyone had their favorite birthday dessert. She took time and care to make every holiday special, helping to create lasting memories for our family. She was known as Mom or Memere to many that were not her own, including the band that practiced many times in her home. It was part of her love of music, a love shared by her husband. She especially loved listening to singer Harry Belafonte. Funeral services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lorraine's memory may be made to a charity of your choice. William Drago

Age - 91

GRAFTON: William B. "Bill" Drago, 91, passed away at home Thursday November 23, 2023 following an illness. His wife of 59 years, Jean (Hurley) Drago predeceased him in 2016. Bill leaves his children Vincent "Jimmy" Drago, John Drago, and Janice Arrigo and her husband Glenn and their children Tyler, Brooke and Scott, his sister Rosalie Iannessa and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Philip Drago. Bill was born in Boston February 5, 1932, son of the late Josephine (Toscano) and Vincent Drago. His roots were in Somerville, MA where he graduated from high school. He served proudly in the United States Army in Korea and following his return home he worked at the family business, a bakery owned and operated by his father Vincent. He then found himself in Grafton and settled there with his wife Jean where they lived happily for many years. He worked in sales at Ruby Marine in Grafton and was dedicated to his citizenry in town where he volunteered his time at The Grafton Senior Center and championed for veterans in town on numerous projects. Richard Raskett

Age - 88

WORCESTER/GRAFTON: Richard A. Raskett, 88, passed away October 26, 2023 following a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carole (Reardon) Raskett, his daughter Pamela Rybak and her husband Michael, his grandchildren Steven Rybak and his wife Chelsea and Kristina Smith and her husband Jaxin, his sisters Barbara Benoit and Nancy Rocchio and her husband Frank. Richard is leaving many nieces and nephews, including Daniel Benoit and his wife Audrey and dear friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Kimberly Raskett and his brother John Raskett. Richard was born November 3, 1934 in Worcester, son of the late Celia (Koskey) and John Raskett. His roots were in Worcester and he lived for most of his life in Grafton. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps in Korea. By trade he worked in computer hardware for Digital Corporation which eventually transitioned to Intel Corp. WORCESTER: Robin Lynne Latino was the most caring mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She earned her angel wings on October 16, 2023, at age 59. She was born to Robert and Gail Keith on February 21, 1964. After graduating high school, Robin started her family and excelled in selling fine jewelry for Park Lane. She continued her career in retail jewelry working at many places including Whitehall, Hannoush, and Zales. Robin loved spending her time singing her heart out to Stevie Nicks and never passed up an opportunity to do the "Electric Slide. " Although she had the most memorable dance moves, her favorite pastime was when she was with her grandchildren: watching them grow and always keeping them laughing. Robin leaves behind her son, John Dyer, her daughter, Britnii Dyer and her fiance, Gregg Janda, her father, Robert Keith, and her siblings: Steven Keith, Robert Keith, Michelle Rebidue and Craig Keith. She is survived by her beautiful grandchildren: Alyssa, Faith, Trevah and Linnea. She is predeceased by her daughter, Christy Dyer, her mother, Gail Keith, her grandson, Christopher Martinez, and her brother, Brian Keith. Robin had the most genuine heart and the kindest soul. She will be missed every single day. GRAFTON/SHREWSBURY: Jeannette Anna (Bartlett) Warwick Laflash passed away peacefully on October 7, 2023, at the age of 101, at Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Shrewsbury. She was born in a farmhouse in Mendon on January 7, 1922 to the late Bella (Champagne) and Joseph Bartlett. Jeannette lived for many years in North Grafton with her first husband, John Warwick, and her second husband, Clarence Laflash, who both predeceased her. Jeannette leaves behind two loving sons, John Warwick and his wife Kathleen of Shrewsbury and Wayne Warwick and his wife Paulette of North Grafton; stepdaughter Arlene Murray and her husband George of Northbridge; three grandchildren, Brett Warwick of North Grafton, Brian Warwick and his wife Ashley of Bethlehem, New Hampshire, and Katie Warwick Johnson of Farmingdale, Maine; and one great-grandchild, Isaac Johnson of Farmingdale, Maine. She will be missed by her many step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews as well. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph Bartlett and Nelson Bartlett; a sister, Gloria Mainville; and stepdaughter Suzanne Cronin and her husband Richard. Jeannette graduated from Northbridge High School and Becker Junior College. She lived in Uxbridge and Whitinsville before moving to North Grafton. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for the former Whitin Machine Works, Webber Fuel, the Superintendent of Grafton Schools, and the Grafton Suburban Credit Union. Jeannette also worked as a county reporter for the Telegram & Gazette. In North Grafton, Jeannette was a member of the former St. Mary's Women's Club, a Cub Scout den leader, and a member of the Grafton Parent-Teacher Association. She loved knitting, crocheting, making braided rugs, and painting. She was especially proud of painting and stenciling her bedroom set to resemble Hitchcock furniture. She traveled extensively with both of her husbands. With her husband Clarence she sang with the Messengers, a gospel singing group. She also performed in many shows and concerts while spending winters in Naples, Florida and at Southgate at Shrewsbury. Nancy Sulminski

Age - 90

GRAFTON: Nancy A. (Aulizio) Sulminski of North Grafton passed away peacefully on October 4, 2023 at the age of 90. She was the beloved, longtime wife of Paul J. Sulminski, who were married for 63 years. She was one of four children born to Italian immigrants, Antoinette (Cariglia) and Pasquale Aulizio. Nancy leaves behind her loving daughters, Debra Sullivan and her husband David of Sutton, Janet Mangano and her husband William of Grafton, and son-in-law Kevin O'Brien of North Attleboro. She was predeceased by her husband Paul, her beautiful, youngest daughter Diane O'Brien, and her siblings Rachel Lareau and John Aulizio. She is survived by her grandchildren, Nicolas Mangano and his wife Farah, Megan Sullivan Farrell and her husband John of Sutton, Ryan Mangano, Mathieu Sullivan, and Jack O'Brien. She recently welcomed her first great grandchild, John Joseph Farrell. Nancy leaves behind her youngest brother Robert Aulizio and his wife Gayle of Worcester. She will be missed by her many wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins as well. Nancy graduated from Commerce High School and cherished her lifelong, childhood friendships. She was always grateful to have fostered those extraordinary relationships throughout her life. After graduation and prior to her marriage, she worked as a bookkeeper. However, when she married and moved to Grafton in 1955, above all other things, family came first and was a constant presence in her life. She was a devoted, loving mother. She volunteered many hours to the Grafton PTG and later on was active in volunteer work at Assumption College. She was a member of the Grafton Bowling League and thoroughly enjoyed the frequent family get-togethers during the holidays and on special celebrations on both the Italian and Polish sides of the family. Memorable family road trips around the United States were a big must on her list and in later years she traveled abroad with her husband to Europe, Canada, and the Caribbean. Nancy's favorite trip was to northern Italy which included a tour of Vatican City. Being a devout Catholic, who embraced St. Anthony as her patron saint, it was truly a spiritual pilgrimage for her. A private service for the family will be held at the Roney Funeral Home in North Grafton. Nancy will then be laid to rest next to her husband Paul at the Notre Dame Cemetery/Mausoleum. NORTH GRAFTON: Christine B. Ryan, 68, passed away after being stricken ill at home October 2, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband Steven P. Ryan just 11 months ago in November of 2022. She leaves her daughter Tammy D'Amato and her husband Vin, son Steven Ryan and his wife Jaclyn, her grandchildren Vince D'Amato and his fiance Nicole, Troy D'Amato and Ellie James Ryan. She also leaves behind her sister Cynthia Thibeault and her husband Ron, her sister-in-law Catherine Ryan, her brother Ben Damian and his husband Allan Abel, brother-in-law Michael Ryan and his partner Cynthia, and brother John Levitre and his wife Staci. Also, she leaves several nieces, nephews, and dear friends Sheila and Al Bourque. Her mother Mary Levitre, father Ben Damian, and two brothers Michael and Timothy predeceased her. Christine was born June 26, 1955 in Southbridge, MA. and grew up in Dudley, MA. She made a home with former spouse Tom Ziegler in Quinebaug, CT, where she worked as a waitress and took care of her family. Chris later moved to North Grafton after marrying Steve. It is here where Chris and Steve welcomed their son and built a beautiful A-frame Lindal Cedar home. She worked at the Wonder Restaurant for many years and her vibrant personality and caring nature made her an exceptional waitress. She built friendships with so many who would feel her warmth and instant charm from the very first time they met her. Chris enjoyed the peace and serenity of being out in her yard caring for the gardens. She loved her family, her dogs, food, good wine, and the ocean. She enjoyed many trips to Ogunquit and Wells, Maine where they had a summer home. Marcia Mcgee

Age - 93

GRAFTON: Marcia I. (Gilbert) McGee, 93, passed away September 27, 2023. Her husband Frederick McGee predeceased her in 2008 and she was also predeceased by her daughter Susan McGee in 2000. Marcia leaves her son James McGee, her grandchildren Anthony and Nick Marro, Amanda Nye and Michelle Makrinos, her sister Joanna England and several nieces and nephews. Marcia grew up on a working turkey farm in Sudbury MA where she met her future husband Fred McGee. After a quick courtship the two married and moved to Marlborough where they began raising their two children eventually selling their home there and moving to Grafton. A graduate of Lasalle College she worked part time in a dental office but spent most of her time raising her children and helping out on the family farm. Marcia was from a bygone era, besides being a talented artist she could plant a garden, sew a quilt or cook a delicious meal. She had a sweet and loving disposition, a fact that never changed even as she suffered from dementia in the later years of her life. She was always there to lend a helping hand and seldom thought of herself whether it was taking care of her husband in the final years of his life or helping out with her grandchildren after the untimely passing of her daughter Sue. She never considered it a chore only a blessing. She was small in stature but had a huge presence and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
