He married the love of his life, Marilyn Johnson, of Wheeler, TX on December 23, 1981. They had their son, Chase, January 19, 1991 in Pampa, TX. At the time of his passing, they had nearly been married 42 years. He spent many years working and managing feed yards and preconditioning yards between Southern New Mexico and the Texas Panhandle. He loved the Lord and spent a great amount of time studying his Bible every night. He grew up on a ranch and continued to love living the Cowboy way of life, especially when it came to roping and breaking horses. In 2001 he began a new endeavor working with public water and wastewater sanitation, from there he and Marilyn built their business, MJ Utilities. Over the past twenty years, the business continued to grow and will still be carried on by his son. He also loved being around kids, pulling pranks on anyone and everyone, he loved everything Christmas and most recently, spending his days with his grandson, River. Growing up his family called him Bud, as he got older he was called JB but most commonly he was Jim Bob to everyone. When he passed, his most honored name was Daddy Pa and being called that put the biggest smile on his face. He will be greatly missed for his gift of storytelling, cracking a bullwhip in the house for River (without hitting anything), and many other things.
