Paul Jean Pierre Lehmkuhl, age 90, died on Monday, August 28th at Tomahawk Health Services in Tomahawk, WI. Paul was born May 13, 1933, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Harry and Marcella (Felsecker)Lehmkuhl. He attended Marquette High School, where he was active in track and field. He served in Austria in the U. S. Army as a Combat Engineer from 1952-1955. After returning from Europe a blind date with Barbara in 1955 led to their marriage in 1957. Together they had 5 children. In 1979 their dream of living in a home on a lake became a reality when Paul and the kids built log home on Island Lake in Manitowish Waters, WI. After a short stint working at Simpson Electronics Paul became a rural route carrier with the U. S. Postal Service in Minocqua where he retired in 1995. Paul’s love of track and field born in high school became a lifelong passion as he competed on a national level in Masters Track and Field into his 80’s. He and Barb loved traveling to see grandchildren, and other family. Paul was a volunteer at the Manitowish Waters Library as well as a volunteer with the Thunderbird Track Club among other volunteer opportunities. Paul is survived by 3 of his loving children; David (Cheryl), Paula and Stephen (Susan) and by 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 2 siblings Richard, and Barbara (Luke), many nieces and nephews and longtime friends Ursula and Joe McCarthy. Paul was preceded in death by Barbara the love of his life for 63 years, his parents, 2 sons Christopher and R. Scott and also brothers Harry (Alice) Tom (Sandra) and sister Mary. Shirley Lemke, 99, of Woodruff, Wisconsin, died in the early morning hours on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2023, at Milestone Senior Living in Woodruff, WI. Shirley was born at home in Long Lake, Illinois, on October 4, 1924, to Edward and Charlotte Krepel (Schumacher). She graduated from Grant High School, Fox Lake, Illinois, in 1941 and married Kenneth L. Lemke on November 15, 1941 in Morgantown, Kentucky. Shirley held several jobs in the years before becoming a (mostly) full time mother and homemaker, working in Chicago at Western Electric; as a secretary to John Rockefeller Prentice; Wisconsin Scientific Corporation; ABS Corporation, and with her husband, Ken, building the business of Lakeview Screw Machine Products, first in Bartlett, Illinois, and then Elgin, Illinois. She and Ken raised their four children in Itasca and Sleepy Hollow, Illinois. Shirley’s passions were reading and studying the Bible, praying for her family, and hobbies of ceramics and quilting in Sayner, Wisconsin. Shirley and Ken were longtime summer residents of Sayner, Wisconsin, which became full-time in the early 1980’s. She was an active member of the Plum Lake Women’s Club and Friends of the Plum Lake Library in Sayner. During her service as President of Friends of the Library, she was very instrumental in raising funds to build the new Library in town. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Ken Lemke on October 21, 2000, and sisters Joanne, Joyce, and Eileen. She is survived by her children Ronald Lemke (Patty) of Markesan, WI, Wendy Lemke Heinen of Cedar Falls, IA, Jill Lemke of Arbor Vitae, WI, and Matthew Lemke of Greendale, Wi. , grandchildren Debra, Todd, Gretchen, Erik, and Adam, and great-grandchildren Parker, Grace, Lawson, Cade, Benjamin, Hannah, Margaret, Avery, Kylie, and niece Victoria. A private family burial was held at Plum Lake Cemetery, Sayner, where Shirley now rests beside Ken. Melissa Beth Zagar, age 44, passed away at her home on November 26, 2023. She was born February 18, 1979 in Waukesha, WI to parents Leila Greenwald and Steve Zagar. Melissa was extremely creative and passionate about living life to the fullest, often bringing her ‘bag-of-fun’ and well known for sharing her glitter and lights- She really could light up a room. Helping others was always on her mind and shown in her actions like volunteering for Junior Achievement to teach kids how to start and run a business. She is known as the ‘Fun aunt’ to her two nephews and her friend’s children. Like a kaleidoscope, Melissa had many qualities that made her unique; she knew her life was about overcoming obstacles, celebrating the little wins as well as the big achievements; a little rebellious at times, she enjoyed pranking her friends and especially her little sister. Her creative side included many arts: photography, making jewelry, and creating handmade gifts. Making others happy was always on her mind, she often went above and beyond to give to others- often sharing music and her photography to brighten your day or making a dessert or dinner for her family and friends. Melissa was strong willed, an entrepreneur, and a savvy, independent business owner; known as a Jill of all trades and mastering anything she put her mind to. A few of her many business ventures were a car dealership, Minocqua Tint, and The Premier Dining Guide. She is survived by her cats; Lou and Brady (which are the loves of her life) and her parents: Leila Greenwald and Steve (and Ginger) Zagar; sister: Amy Zagar; nephews: Seay and Orion Zagar; brothers Anthony, Curtis and the late Jason Zagar; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. "James "Bud" Fitzgerald, of Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin, and Crystal River Florida, beloved husband to Susan Poulsen,\u0026nbsp;passed away on Monday October 30 at the age of 79. Bud grew up in Wilmett, Illinois and graduated from New Trier High School. He spent many years in sales, from selling real estate, printing services and creating and designing donor walls for hospitals and universities. Bud was an avid collector of everything and could fix and build anything. Bud had a passion for learning and mastering all hobbies. He was a skilled wood worker and DIY guy. Bud was a member of the Minocqua Gun Club and SASS (Single Action Shooting Club) participating in Cowboy Action Shooting and sporting clays. Bud and Susan traveled many miles in their motor home. They especially loved to escape the cold snowy Wisconsin winters to their home in Florida. Always active, singing in church and to anyone that would listen. His laugh and wit will be remembered by everyone he touched. Bud is survived by his wife Susan Poulsen together for 33 years; sister, Ginger Kotz; beloved children, Kellie Gray, Kerrie DeVolder (Kevin), Jason Fitzgerald (Rhonda), Wendy Poulsen; niece, Lisa Kotz. He leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. James W. Stadter, 76, of Phillips, WI, passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord, on November 13, 2023, surrounded by his family, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Jim was born on January 24, 1947, to James and Ruth (DeGroodt) Stadter, in Chicago, IL. Jim was an avid sportswriter for many different publications over his career. Jim loved the Chicago Bears, Chicago White Sox - not the Cubs, the Wisconsin Badgers, and any team his grandchildren played for. He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking vacations, fishing trips to Canada, grabbing a drink with his friends at Northern Lights and Stoney Pub, and running the local fantasy football, baseball, and NASCAR leagues. He married Donna Vanderploeg on May 25, 1968, celebrating 55 years together. Jim is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Colleen (Brian) Geurts, Julie (Jim) Vyskocil, Kevin (Jill) Stadter; grandchildren, James (Robin), Kevin, Brett (Emily), Stephanie, Jessie, Brianna, Caitlyn, Courtney, and Sierra; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Cameron, and Chevelle; siblings, Ruth, Loretta, Bill (Carol), Mary, Joyce, and Bruce (Tracey); brothers and sister-in-law, Dennis (Karen), Keith (Kathy), Jim (Cindy), Wayne, and Gail; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bonnie Ahlborn, age 70 of Wausau, WI and formerly of Arbor Vitae, WI passed away on Monday, November 13th at House of Dove in Marshfield, WI. Bonnie was born on March 18, 1953 in Oconto, WI the daughter of Norbert and Grace (nee Allen) Carey. She graduated from Oconto High School and Wisconsin College of Cosmetology in Green Bay. Bonnie married Dennis Ahlborn on June 14, 1975. Bonnie worked at Mr. Theo’s, Judy’s Shear Delight and then opened her own salon; Family Hair Center and was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Universe and Holy Family Catholic Church and the Lakeland Area Kiwanis Club. Bonnie’s favorite hobbies were spending time with her family and friends, watching her daughters grow up and riding the Harley around the country with her husband Gup. She spent many years crafting, scrapbooking and gardening. After retirement Bonnie and Gup moved to Wausau, WI and found a winter home in Arizona to enjoy the warm desert life. Additionally, she took up painting in between spending time with all her loved ones. She was an avid football and baseball fan and watched or attended the Packers and Brewers games regularly. She is survived by her husband Dennis Ahlborn of Wausau, WI and daughters Jessica (Gregory) Hunter of Windsor, WI and Ashley (Bill) Learst of Lakeville, MN and by her siblings Ron (Linda) Carey, Nancy (Jim) Campbell, Joyce (Dave) Pantzlaff and Dan (Jill) Carey and by her nieces and nephews: Debbie (Jim) Foral, Jeff Carey, Lisa Carey Hirst, Todd (Tana) Carey, Chad (Kim) Campbell, Darren (Jenny) Campbell, Matthew (Beth) Pantzlaff, Nicole (Mike) Treder, Nathaniel (Jill) Carey, Adam Carey and her two favorite grand "pugs" Ike & Abe. Dorothy M. Pisca, 92, formerly of Prentice, WI, has planted her last gladiolus bulb, cooked her last pot of chili, and watched her last episode of "Dancing with the Stars. " Mom passed away early in the morning on November 11, 2023, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital after a short illness. She was born to the late Gust Sr. and Margaret (Tesch) Kalander on March 15, 1931, in Ogema, WI. Dorothy graduated from Prentice High School in 1950. On November 21, 1953, she married Tony Pisca at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Phillips, and they made their home in Phillips. In 1965, they moved their family to Prentice. She returned to the work force as her children grew up and was employed by Phillips Plastics until her retirement after many years. She took a brief break and returned to work with the Prentice School District part time as a janitress until she was 77 years old. She has resided at Duroy Terrance Senior Living Facility for the last 3 years. She is survived by four children, Shelley (Peter) Lewandowski of Mosinee, WI, Michael Pisca of Wausau, WI, Mark (Gail) Pisca of Rothschild, WI, and Sharon (Jon) Weeks of Mosinee, WI; grandchildren, Nicholas (the late Erika), Jacob (Jessica), Steven Lewandowski, and Katy (Colin) Vis; great-grandchildren, Valerie, Avery, and Joslyn; siblings, Betty Carlson, Helen Best, Sharon (Bruce) Jilka, and Jack (Diane) Kalander; sisters-in-law, Shirley, Nancy, and Edith Kalander. Michael George Gregory, age 63 of Lake Tomahawk, WI passed away peacefully the morning of November 8th, 2023 after a sudden and aggressive battle with cancer. He was at his home surrounded by his wife of 40 years, Julie Gregory (nee Bramm), and children Adam Bramm (spouse Albert Guarnieri), David Gregory, Laura McGill (spouse Gaige McGill), and new grandson, Del. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Donald Gregory; mother, Mary Ellen Gregory; brother Jimmy and sister Dona. He will be remembered always by his surviving immediate family; his brother, Allen (Colette) Gregory; his sister, Sue Anne (Kerry) Marciniak; and his 16 nieces and nephews. Mike was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 13th, 1959. He moved to the Northwoods as a child and graduated from Lakeland Union High School in 1978 where he played baseball (named conference MVP), football, and wrestled. Just this summer reminding us that he had a near undefeated wrestling record. Legend also has it that the potholes on HWY 70 near the Lakeland Ballpark are Mike’s many home runs. He was a lifelong resident of Lake Tomahawk where he built numerous area homes with his father and brother as Gregory Builders. He was a talented woodworker; his most recent project was a cradle for his grandson. Mike was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time out on his land, hunting and fishing any chance that he had. He also played in various area softball leagues as well as playing Lake Tomahawk Snowshoe Baseball. Mike enjoyed fish fry on Fridays, giving and receiving gifts, giving people nicknames, and just going out for a drive. He always took the long way home from vacations (and Menards) just to make the drive a little longer. Mike will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them. Mike was quiet, showing love to his family, friends, and neighbors through acts of service. Memorial Service for Mike will be held at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel in Woodruff on Sunday, November 12th at 3pm. There will be a visitation held before the service from 12-3pm. Norviel Anton Weyers, of Catawba, WI, was called home to his Lord on October 24, 2023, at Aspirus Care and Rehab in Medford, at the age of 94. He was born to Anton and Mae (Freeman) Weyers on June 7, 1929. He was their only child. Norviel lived all his years in Catawba, until his admission to the Aspirus Care and Rehab Facility in Medford, WI. He lived a quiet, solitary life with a strong faith in the Lord. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. There was no one who could say the Rosary faster than him. He spent the first half of life farming with his parents. Upon the passing of his father, Norviel sold the farm and built his home in the Village of Catawba. He became the janitor at the Catawba Elementary School and the caretaker of the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for many years. He took great pride in both of these positions. Norviel had a great affection for his John Deere lawnmower, which became his mode of transportation in his later years. He was often seen pulling his cart and heading to the store for groceries or the gas station for his case of Hamm's. He is survived by cousins and friends. Norviel is preceded in death by his parents. A thank you is extended to Aspirus Care and Rehab for the kind care given to Norviel the last few years and to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. for supporting him the last months of his life. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a. m. on Friday, November 3, 2023, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, W9485 US-8, Catawba, WI 54515.
