Helen Krueger passed away peacefully on Nov 30, 2023 at the age of 73 in Dallas, Texas. Through the years, she enjoyed cooking for her loved ones and spending time with her family and friends. Helen was known for making friends wherever she went. Helen was an advocate bowler where she played on leagues with her husband and close friends. She found great purpose sharing in the successes, joys, and challenges of those around her. Helen was whole heartedly there for those in her life. She was the glue that held her family together and will be greatly missed. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Ron Krueger of 53 years; son, Brian Krueger and wife Tanya, son Ryan Krueger and grandkids, Kiersten Krueger, Michael Krueger, Hayley Allen-Krueger, Jordan Krueger, Jessie Krueger, Jenna Krueger and Tristan White as well as great-granddaughter Abigail Krueger.Show more

Patricia Redifer, 68, of Dallas, Texas, passed away December 4, 2023. She was born in Frankfurt, Germany on January 17, 1955. Patty graduated from Chapel Hill High School and received her B. A. from the University of California, Berkeley. She was married to Edward Hanker on August 20, 1978. Patty had a career in general education, Jewish education, and the pharmaceutical industry for Solomon Schechter Academy in New London, CT; Beth El religious school in Durham, NC; and Pfizer. She was a volunteer Girl Scouts troop leader, and had a passion for reading, travel, figure skating, and women's basketball. She was preceded in death by husband Edward Hanker. She is survived by daughter, Ariella Hanker, grandchildren Yakira, Sarit, and Natan Klirs, and sister Debby Ethridge. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 6, at 2:00 p. m. at Congregation Shearith Israel in the Beck Family Sanctuary, followed by interment at Shearith Israel Memorial Park on Dolphin Road.Show more

Sandra Farr

Sandra Farr, 80, of Dallas, Texas passed away on December 1st 2023. She was born on July 8th 1943 to Clinton and Marcella Pearson in Houston, Texas. After graduation from East High School in Memphis, Tennessee, she went onto study at Baylor University. After graduating with a degree in Education she married David Farr and began teaching 7th grade History in Dallas, Texas. Sandra raised two children in Lake Highlands before starting her second career in advertising with Brierley and Partners. In 2008, she retired and spent her time cooking, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Sandra is survived by her sister, Susan Brubaker; son and daughter in law, Jess and Kacy Farr; daughter and son in law, Laura and Chris Leavell; grandsons Pearce and Donny Leavell; Nephews, Chris Brubaker and J. K. Farr; and Niece Aimee Farr. In loving memory of Sandra Farr, a memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 10th at 2 PM at the Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home Chapel on W Northwest Highway in Dallas. John Prusha

John (Jack) Prusha, son of John and Mary (Smith) Prusha, passed away peacefully at his home on December 1, 2023. Jack was born on August 7, 1929, in Omaha, Nebraska. He attended Creighton University, and the University of Nebraska where he received his degree in electrical engineering and later took course work at Syracuse University. He married his wife Pat in 1953 while serving in the army during the Korean War. After his term in the service, he spent considerable time working for General Electric in Syracuse, eventually moving his family to Dallas where he finished a long career with Texas Instruments. After retiring, he enjoyed volunteering at St Vincent De Paul for many years. A lover of puns, jokes and family get togethers, Jack enjoyed woodworking, computers and tinkering with electronics, although his real passion was knowing he could fix anything. He was a quiet man who accepted things as they came. His dry humor and wit always brought smiles. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary (Smith) Prusha, sisters Dolores (Prusha) Eckley, Fran (Prusha) Kocsis, Catherine (Prusha) Dworak and brother Don Prusha. He is survived by: his wife Pat; children, Sue (Cecil) Jones, John (Shannon) Prusha, Steve (Nancy) Prusha, Bill (Melanie) Prusha and David (Lisa) Prusha; as well as 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Hugh Herndon

Age - 85

Hugh Herndon: Blessed & Highly Favored. If you knew Hugh in any capacity, you likely heard these words more times than you can count. Whether you were family or a close friend, a nurse walking in to check on him, a waitress or waiter, or even just a telemarketer who happened to get his voicemail, that is always the way he greeted others and answered the question, "How are you?" Hugh was incredibly blessed, perhaps most by the love of his life, his wife, Betty Herndon. He won her over with a peppermint stick back in 1955 at Lamar High school in Houston, TX, and they spent 62 wonderful years building a beautiful family and a thriving ministry together. Hugh was also blessed with four amazing daughters; Cindy Herndon Johnson of Conroe, TX, Heather Herndon Wright of Lucas, TX, Laurel Herndon Wilson of Sherman, TX, and Stephanie George of Plano, TX. Along with them, he also inherited two phenomenal son-in-laws, Randolph Wright and Michael George, who were always just a phone call away whenever he needed tech support or to borrow a truck. He was also blessed with more grandchildren and great grandchildren than will fit on this page. A true living manifestation of Psalms 127:5. And his favor was also abundant. At just 11-years-old, Hugh had a terrible accident. He and his beloved brother, Jack, had attended a summer camp together, and on the final day they were waiting for their parents to pick them up. With much anticipation, Hugh climbed a very tall tree to try and spot their car when he fell to the ground below, landing himself in a coma for 72 hours. But the Lord had big plans for his life, even then, so he experienced a full recovery. Many knew Hugh only as a minister, but before entering into pastoral work full time, he'd actually had quite a full life in both military service and business. He served briefly in the army before issues with his ears placed him in the reserves for 7 years where he was able to serve honorably. From there he began a wonderful career at Kodak, where he became one of their top salesmen and was with the company for 26 years. Hugh and Betty also started "Sharing Our Life" ministry, worked within World Ministry Fellowship, and served in jail ministry for decades at Lew Sterrett in Dallas. Also as part of Hugh's second act, he began teaching other preachers how to preach, an adventure which took him to Lagos, Nigeria, as well as Kyiv, Ukraine. The favor that followed him throughout his life allowed doors to open everywhere he went, and the exemplary sales background he acquired at Kodak equipped him with the ability to pitch perhaps the thing he was the most passionate about: Having Eternal Life in Jesus Christ. No one ever had to question the strength of Hugh's faith. It was present in everything he said and did. The way he loved others and cared about not just their life here on this earth but their future in heaven was always apparent. Seldom would you have a conversation with Hugh without it becoming a Bible study topped off with a blessing. Actually, seldom isn't the right word. Never is more accurate. He always made sure that every person he came into contact with knew that not only was he blessed and highly favored, but so were they! He made sure we all knew we were children of God and that he expected to see each and every one of us again in the kingdom of Heaven. . . where we are positive he is now patiently awaiting our arrival.Show more

Barbara Ann (Bowen) Tate, age 88, passed away on December 2nd, 2023, surrounded by her family. Barbara was born on February 17th, 1935 in Youngstown, Ohio to Russell & Evelyn Bowen (George). She was raised in Youngstown, Ohio and graduated from the Youngstown Hospital Association School of Nursing in 1956, and embarked on a long fulfilling career, as a registered nurse for over 58 years. Barbara married Don Tate in the year of 1957, and the couple had 4 children together, Don, Doug, Diana, and David. In her spare time, Barbara greatly enjoyed knitting stockings for her family, whom she loved dearly, reading, and spending time with her children, and a host of grandchildren & great-grandchildren. In addition, Barbara loved attending St. Luke's Lutheran Church, as a lifetime member, where she met so many wonderful and cherished friends. Her family and friends will always remember her as 'Barb'. She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell Bowen & Evelyn Bowen (nee George), and her beloved sister, Betty J. Panella. Barbara is survived by her four children, Don Tate Jr. , (Donna), their two children, Brandon & Ashley; Doug Tate (Laura), their two children, Sarah & Katie; Diana Rich (Ben), their two children, Kevin & Hailey; and David Tate, along with his two children, Zach and Josie Ann. Barbara is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Mason, Emma, Liam, Quinten, and Skylar & her sisters Bonnie Perratto, and Beverly Boyer & her brother Richard Bowen. Ralph Melvin Marshall, Jr. passed from this life to His eternal home in Heaven, on November 30, 2023, at the age of 88. Born January 22, 1935 in Dallas, Texas. He attended Forest Avenue High School, where he met many lifelong friends. Preceding him in death, are his parents Melvin Ralph Marshall, Dorothy E. Marshall, sisters Carol Ruth Jett and Katheryn Sue Marshall. He is survived by his wife Joy Kovar Sharp, brothers Jeffrey Lynn Marshall, and Gilbert Scott Marshall, Beloved children Karen Kim Oliver, Tracy Lynn Severtson, James Jay Marshall and Terry Loraine Henley. Phyllis Jones

"Phyllis Ann Jones, aged 92, of Dallas, Tx slipped quietly out of this world and into the arms of her Savior on Saturday afternoon, November 25, 2023 in Carrollton, Texas. She was born September 4,1931 in Waupaca, Wisconson to Raymond and Vera Schlinsog Jones. She joined older brother Charles and was their only daughter. Her younger brother Wesley joined the family in 1938. Her early years were spent in Waupaca where she attended elementary school and played along the banks of the Channel Lakes. In 1943, when Phyllis was in 7th grade, the family relocated to Dallas, Texas. They lived in a home by Riverchon Park where the Scottish Rite Hospital now stands. A few years later they moved to their home on Maple Avenue. Phyllis was a graduate of Crozier Tech High School. She attended Howard Payne University for 2 years and earned her degree in Education from North Texas State College. Upon graduation she moved to California to teach for a year. She then moved to Japan for a year to teach students whose parents were serving overseas. After returning to Texas, Phyllis taught 2nd grade at Thomas Haley Elementary School in Irving for 39 years. She was beloved by her students and coworkers alike and formed many long-term friendships. She lived on Travis Street right off Knox Street for many years and had family and friends over for swim dates and burgers every summer. Phyllis's faith was first and foremost in her life and she was always active in her church. She attended North Dallas Baptist Church in High School, then Fellowhip Bible and later was charter member of Park Cities Presbyterian Church where for many years she worked with children and adults in the Laotian ministry as well as special needs students. She loved all her nieces and nephews and their children dearly. Ever the teacher, she was faithful to spend time with and read to all of them and always inquired how she could best pray for them. It was comforting to know you always had Aunt Phyllis praying for you and cheering you on. In about 2005 she bought a condo in the Preston Hollow area where she lived until 2022. She dearly loved her Villa Capri neighbors and they loved and cared for her too. Phyllis is survived by her older brother, Charlie, her younger brother Wes and his wife, Joyce, nieces and nephews Greg and Susan Jones, Jeffrey Jones and his partner Beth O'Donnell, Kasi and Todd Pollock, Laurie Jones, Patrick and Jennifer Jones, and multiple great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Vera, and her sister-in-law Virginia Jones. "Show more
