Tribute Patsy Jean Galyen age 89, passed away December 24, 2022 at Avenda Living of Cherryvale Center, Cherryvale, Kansas. Patsy was born March 3, 1933 to Thomas and Thelma Overton in El Dorado where she attended school and graduated from El Dorado High School in 1951. She was married to Elba Gene Galyen on September 25, 1952. They made their home in El Dorado, Garden City, Russell and Ness City Kansas. Patsy enjoyed playing briage, portrait painting, playing the organ, traveling, playing Bingo and being with family and friends. During her lifetime, Patsy was employed in various jobs, most notably as a matron/dispatcher for the Russell County, Ness County and Butler County Sheriff's offices. Patsy is survived by her children, Rhonda Salisbury and Richard Galyen, both of Independence Kansas. She has four grandchildren, Sarah (Ben) Long, Susan (David) Bryant, Vallerie Allerheiligen and Michael Galyen. She also has seven great grand children. She is preceded in death by her husband Elba Gene, son in law Dan Salisbury, parents, brothers Hollis Overton, Thomas Overton and sister Joy Rogers. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Carlson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Towanda Cemetery. Memorials contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
