Patrick Joseph Lemmon December 28th 1947 - May 3rd 2022 After a brave and extended battle with cancer our beloved Father, Brother, and Friend passed peacefully in his bed surrounded by loved ones. Pat was a lifelong resident of Toledo, OR. He was the 3rd generation to live in Toledo. He grew up on the family farm just outside of town. His youth was spent playing in the woods, working the farm, tending cows, haying, and splitting wood. Hard work was always a part of his life. After graduation from High School in 1966, he went to work at the Georgia Pacific Paper Mill. In the fall of 1966, with the Vietnam war in full swing and the draft looming, Dad volunteered to join the US Navy. After training he served on a supply ship the USS Firedrake. He enlisted for two tours of duty during the war. In 1970 he was discharged early so that he could come home to be with mother who was dying from cancer. Following his return from Vietnam Pat returned to work at Georgia Pacific. While at GP he worked in many rolls at the Mill but ultimately spent most of his career as a Mill Wright in the pulp mill. After 38 years with Georgia Pacific, he retired in 2004. In 1974 He married Sandy Brayton Lemmon. Together they had three biological children Jake Lemmon, Kirk Lemmon, and Scott Lemmon. Later they welcomed Meadow Morris into the family and became her legal guardians. Pat was well known in Toledo, for his love of family, helping members of the community, his sense of humor, and his love of Guns (not always in that order). He would always offer to help and put in work whenever people asked. Pat was preceded in death by his Father Walter "Haney" Lemmon, Mother Dora Lemmon, Step Mother Dorothy Lemmon, Brother George Lemmon, Sister in Law Edna Lemmon. He is survived by his Partner Sharon Deal, Sister Janell & Paul Smud, Sister Emily & Jim Lemmon Tough, Brother Jay & Brenda Lemmon, Brother Rocky & Joan Lemmon, Son Jake & Gigi Lemmon, Son Kirk & Cheyenne Lemmon, Son Scott & Valerie Lemmon, Daughter Meadow Morris, Ex-Wife Sandy Blackman, Grand Children Peyton Lemmon, Parker Lemmon, Gavin Lemmon, Hadrian Lemmon, Freya Lemmon, Avery Lemmon, Zoey Lemmon. Dad clearly and repeatedly said "I don't want to have a stuffy service, with everyone standing around crying. " So in lieu of that the family will be putting on a celebration of life to remember and honor Dad. Please come with a funny story of favorite memory to share. The Celebration will be held at 10 am on July 3rd at the Newport Vietnam War Memorial located at Don Davis Park. To to the family or in memory of Patrick J Lemmon, please
