Kennedy, Patrick John, age 79, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2019 in Richmond, Virginia. Beloved husband of 52 years to Peggy (nee Moore). Devoted father of Shawn (Carrington), Maureen (Travis), Mary Beth (Toby) and Kathleen. Playful and adored Papa to his six grandchildren: Quinn, Macrory, Patrick, Frances, Maude, and Mary George. Patrick was an Army-trained draftsman and mechanical designer, spending a large portion of his career working in Richmond, Virginia, until he retired in 2004. His passion, however, was serving people whether helping feed folks at a soup kitchen, volunteering to rebuild hurricane damaged homes, designing and building equipment for physically challenged kids, or enthusiastically volunteering for the Veterans Affairs Prosthetic Services. Patrick's life of service encouraged others to do the same. The Kennedy family invites family and friends to join them at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2019 for Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church, 9505 Gayton Road, Richmond, Virginia 23229 (church reception immediately to follow).
