"Patricia Ann Pardue, 66, of Hopewell, VA, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 4, 2023. Mrs. Pardue is preceded in death by her father, Willie W. Wrenn; and a brother, Allen Dale Wrenn. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Donald \u0026quot;Joe\u0026quot; Pardue; son, Danny Pardue and wife, Wendy; son, Shane Pardue and wife, Carmen; grandchildren, Brandon Pardue, Tristan Pardue, Gavin Pardue, and Cullen Pardue; mother, Elizabeth W. Knapp; brother, Bruce W. Wrenn and wife, Heike; sister, Vickie Wolfe and husband, John; sister, Lillian Parsons and husband, Wayne; as well as numerous extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p. m. until 8:00 p. m. , Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at J. T. Morriss \u0026amp; Son Hopewell Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a. m. , on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the Cawson Street Church of Christ, 310 N. 3rd Ave. Hopewell, VA 23860. Interment will be private. "Margie Elmore Dowden, 81, passed November 27, 2023. Born and raised in Hopewell, VA, she was the daughter of the late Jeff and Annie Elmore. She was a devoted wife to the late Merwyn Dowden for 37 years. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Hopewell where she and Merv were the nursery attendants for over 30 years. She was a member of the Hopewell Kiwanis Club. Margie worked mostly in the insurance field through the years and retired from Ted Antol State Farm. Margie lived in the Hopewell/Enon area most of her life and became a resident at Lucy Corr Retirement Community two years ago. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Madison Elmore (Jean) and David Elmore (Peggy); and a niece, Julie Dowden. She is survived by brothers, Maurice Elmore (Willie Jo) and Thurman Elmore (Carol); nephews, David, Maury, Jeffrey, and Daniel; nieces, Jacquie, Joanie, Wendy, and Jennifer; her brother-in-law, Bud Dowden (Barbara); and niece, Lisa. She is also survived by a number of great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, along with other extended family members. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 4, 2023, at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss \u0026amp; Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Daniel Elmore and the Rev. Ms. Nellie V. Gholson, 86, of 2211 Berry Street, Hopewell, departed this life peacefully Tuesday afternoon, November 21, 2023, at her residence surrounded by Family. She was a native of Hopewell, Virginia. She was the only daughter of the late John and Mildred Pauline Crockett Washington. She was formerly married to her husband Claiborne Gholson, father of her children. She was a graduate of Carter G. Woodson School. She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Hope Baptist Church, Prince George, VA. She later joined Friendship Baptist Church in Hopewell, VA. , under Reverend L. W. Jacobs leadership. She worked for various employers: (Firestone Synthetic Plant, John Randolph Hospital, Carter G. Woodson School, home's of Jimmy Jones and Nelson Bland, Jr) working in Industrial, hospitality and housekeeping. She resigned from Fort Lee Lodging Operations, Fort Lee, VA to enter into retirement. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: five children, Joyce Gholson, Edward Gholson, devoted, Donald Gholson, Sandra Gholson (Darrell) devoted, and Rose Gholson, all of Hopewell, Virginia. Eleven grandchildren; three devoted Layla Clay, Greg Robinson and Rominel (Courtney) Gholson, whom she raised like a son. Twenty six great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends, two devoted friends, Harriett Mae McCloud Jones, and Evangeline Brown. "Erline Faye Megariotis (Hawkins), 72, a resident of Hopewell, Virginia passed away peacefully in the early morning of Tuesday, November 14, 2023. Born March 14, 1951, to the late Earl Renford Hawkins and Patricia Ann Cowell in Pomona, California. She was a 1969 graduate of Anaheim High School in California and dreamed of becoming a cosmetologist. On June 19, 1970, she married her life partner Petros Nicolaoy Megariotis in Orange County, California. She devoted her life to being the best spouse, mother, nanny, and business partner. She loved enjoying time with her late grandmother Mae Mary Gordan. She was an essential part of two successful businesses, Father \u0026amp; Son Painting and S. U. N. Painting. She enjoyed being a mother and grandmother (Nanny) and will be remembered for being a strong woman, excellent cook, a good listener, and a huge fan of Diet Mountain Dew. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, knitting, shopping, and tending to her roses. She is survived by her siblings, James, Vicki, and Beth; husband, Petros Nicoloay Megariotis; children, Nicolaos Petroy Megariotis and his spouse Carmella, Kathleen Mae Megariotis, Ulysses Petroy Megariotis and Steven Petroy Megariotis; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. "Rozelia W. Buchanan, of Hopewell, VA, age 85, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023. Born in Lunenburg County, VA, on March 23, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Nathaniel White and Marie Peluso White. Roze enjoyed telling funny stories of her youth, traveling, and working in the yard. She had two green thumbs when it came to her beautiful flowers. The light of her life was her granddaughter, Renzi, whom she affectionately called her angel child. Roze was a member of First Christian Church, in Hopewell, VA. Surviving Roze are her daughter, Robin Smith (Larry), of Henrico, VA; granddaughter, Renzi Smith (fiance USCG Ted Forgan), of St. Louis, MO; three nieces, Karan Richardson, of Henderson, NC, Joy Lynch, of Henderson, NC, and Scarlet Davis, of Henderson, NC. Roze was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Giroux; sister, Angelia Dames; and brother, Robert \u0026quot;Bobby\u0026quot; White. Thank you to her wonderful neighbors and friends over the years that gave her a helping hand.
