Gloria Duchano

Gloria Duchano

Age - 93

August 22, 2023

Wolfeboro, NH-On August 19, 2023, angels delivered Gloria Duchano, 93, of Wolfeboro, NH to Heaven. She passed peacefully with her family by her side after a brief illness. Gloria was born in Wolfeboro on June 13, 1930 to Caterina Angelina and Luigi Paulocci. Luigi had traveled to America from Italy at the beginning of the century to build stone walls at Castle in the Clouds in Moultonboro, NH. When the project was completed, Luigi went back to Italy and eventually returned to Wolfeboro with his wife. They were blessed with four children, Gloria being the youngest. Gloria attended Carpenter Elementary School and graduated from Brewster Free Academy, the public high school in Wolfeboro at the time, in 1948. While at Brewster she was in the glee club and played softball, field hockey, tennis and skied. She was the class Vice President and received the honorable Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizens Award. This award was created in 1934 to recognize the qualities of good citizenship in high school seniors who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities. After high school Gloria attended secretarial school in Boston. Her first job was at Wells Fargo, then she joined Wolfeboro Savings Bank until she ultimately found her calling and secured a position as a paralegal in a law firm performing real estate closings. This was the beginning of 50 years in this field where she devoted her life to helping countless people with the purchase of their homes. Gloria was highly respected and requested by realtors, bankers and attorneys, and earned her reputation as one of the best in the business. Anyone who worked with her quickly realized that if Gloria did the work, it would be done timely and accurately and done with a smile. Her dedication and commitment to her work were exemplary, and remarkably, she worked right up until this past June when she was no longer able to, at The Law Offices of Marbury and Marbury, PLLC. She never retired. She was a Wolfeboro gem in so many ways and to so many people. While her work ethic was beyond reproach, her most treasured pastime was being with her family. She never missed an event of her three children and made most every one of the countless sporting events of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her family with all her being and was beyond proud of every one of them. She could always be found praising them. Gloria is predeceased by her parents, Luigi and Caterina Paolucci, her siblings, Urbano, Emilio and Giovanina (Jeannie) Mulvey. She is survived by her children, Bobby Duchano, Cathy (Duchano) Hutchins and her husband Rick Hutchins and Tonia (Duchano) Hutt and her husband George Hutt; 4 grandchildren, Tony Hutchins and his wife Courtney (Fish) Hutchins, Angela (Hutchins) Snyder and her husband John Snyder, Michael Hutchins and his wife Kara (Brown) Hutchins and Caterina Hutt; 5 great-grandchildren, Drew Hutchins, Alexa Snyder, Sienna Snyder, Avery Hutchins and Ryder Hutchins. Also by her niece, Jane Mulvey Raulerson. It would be remiss not to mention that while her family was her love, her passion was spending time with her best friend, Terry Peterson, going to bingo, the casino, playing cards, shopping and being with their other friends. She cherished all her friends, of which there are too many to list. The family is requesting in lieu of flowers that donations be made to VNA Cornerstone in Gloria Duchano's memory, by check to 178 Farmington Rd. , Rochester, NH 03867, or on their website, cornerstonevna. org/donate/ and click on "Tribute Gift". She lived most of her life in Scituate where she attended Scituate High School and had the nickname "Digger," no doubt due to the fact that her family owned and operated the Richardson Funeral Home in Scituate Center. She met and fell in love with her soon-to-be husband John, and they settled down in Scituate to raise their family.
