Patricia Mangene Obituary

WYNANTSKILL - Patricia A. (Gardner) Mangene, 91, entered into heaven on Sunday May 7, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Troy on January 15, 1932, the daughter of the late William and Clara (Goetz) Gardner, Sr. She was raised in Watervliet and attended St. Brigid's School. Patricia married Henry F. Mangene on June 10, 1950 and began their family in Wynantskill, NY raising their four children. Patricia and Hank shared 64 wonderful years together. Patricia worked at Nashua Corporation (formerly Behr-Manning) for 36 years before retiring in 1991. She began traveling the country for a year with her loving husband before ultimately spending winters in Sarasota, Florida. Pat loved to go camping with her family and friends and enjoyed fishing, especially when she was catching them! Pat also loved playing cards, shuffleboard and board games. Patricia is survived by her children, Denise (Robert) Shevy, Diane (Edward) Prach, Dawn (William) Shorter and David (Erin) Mangene. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Patricia Shevy (Tim Nelligan), Robert (Rachel) Shevy, Jr. , Joseph Prach, Adam Prach, Robyn (Richard) Hoffman, James Glasser and Stephanie Mangene. Pat was also blessed with five great grandchildren, Timothy Nelligan, Harrison and Natalie Shevy, Amelia Hoffman and Zoie Glasser. Pat was the eldest of 11 children. She is survived by two brothers and a sister, Ronald (Linda) Gardner, Deborah Shevy and Timothy (Patty) Gardner. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Mangene and her loving companion, George Hathaway. She is also predeceased by seven of her siblings, William Gardner, Robert Gardner, Connie Baker, Frederick Gardner, Janet Schroeder, Susan Dupont and Mary Rosencrans. The funeral will be Friday at 8:30 am from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet and at 9:30 am at St. Jude the Apostle Church, Wynantskill. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watervliet. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7 pm.
