Richard Max Spriggs of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on December 2, 2023, at the age of 88. Richard was born in Geff, Illinois, on March 17, 1935, to Harold and Maxine Spriggs. He spent the majority of his working career doing auto assembly with General Motors. He enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and cards, and loved working through crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed being outside and loved to go camping throughout the years. Most of all, Richard loved his family. He was a jokester with a wonderful sense of humor who loved playing light-hearted pranks on his grandkids, and Richard always cherished the quality time he spent with those he loved. This loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather will be missed very deeply by all those who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 67 years, Donna Spriggs, and one daughter, Shirley Davis. Left to treasure his memory are his five children, Richard Spriggs and daughter-in-law Cherly, Karen Minchue, Teresa Spriggs, Harold Spriggs, and Diane Johnston, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other loved ones. Brenda Hudson

Brenda Sue (Bearden) Hudson was born in Sulphur, Oklahoma on October 12, 1953, to Charles Eugene and Helen Marie (Winnans) Bearden. She passed away with her family by her side in Oklahoma City on December 3, 2023, at the age of 70. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, December 6, at Whitt Funeral Home between 5:00 P. M. and 7:00 P. M. Funeral services are planned for Thursday, December 7, at the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 A. M. with Rev. Joe Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche, Oklahoma under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Jimmie Cottrell, Lesslie Stanford, Montana Stafford, Roger Schier, David Green and Joseph Taylor. Brenda graduated from Sulphur High School and married Gary Hudson on February 24, 1973. Together, they raised 2 children, Kristy and Dana. Brenda loved to travel, but her favorite thing was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mary Elaine Mitchell was born May 5, 1950 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Joe and Clariabel Tendall. Mary preferred to go by her middle name Elaine. She grew up in Apache, Oklahoma and married her late husband Roger Steven Mitchell on January 15, 1966. She passed from this world on December 3, 2023 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after a long battle with lung disease. Elaine is the third born of five children. She is survived by siblings Clara Jo "Jodie" MacDonald of Midwest City, OK, Dan Tendall of Lawton, OK, Teri Lodes of Noble, OK, and Rick Tendall of Oklahoma City, OK. She is survived by three children, Shelley Patterson and husband Greg of Hereford, TX, Tracy Ridley and husband Brian of Altus, OK and Cory Mitchell and wife Briana of Oklahoma City, OK. Elaine has 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Elaine was close with her family and enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandchildren who lovingly called her Nanny. She cherished her family and friends and was always there for great conversation or to lend a caring hand. Roger Lee Mooney, 72, of Blanchard, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023, in Oklahoma City. The son of Milton Edward Mooney and Beulah Faye (Foley) Mooney, he was born on July 17, 1951, in Houston, Texas. Roger married Cynthia Ann Curry on August 10, 1974, in Arlington, Texas. In his early career, he served as a firefighter and paramedic with the Dallas Fire Department. Roger worked as the office manager for the Texas Workforce Commission for many years. After retirement, he and Cindy moved to Blanchard where he attended Blanchard Methodist Church. In his spare time, Roger enjoyed working on his farm, trimming trees, and reading. He had a "sweet tooth" and his favorite part of every meal was dessert. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents. Roger is survived by his wife of 49 years, Cindy Mooney of Blanchard; one son, Matt Mooney and his wife, Alyssa, of Garland, Texas; one daughter, Megan Beardsley and her husband, Glenn, of Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandchildren, Marshall, Eve, Alice, and Elliot; one sister, Linda Mooney of Graham, Texas; and many other relatives and friends. Joahne Marie Ward passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on November 19, 2023, at the age of 91. She was born on February 9, 1932, in St. Paul, Minnesota, and was the youngest of three siblings. Joahne had a passion for reading and worked as a bookkeeper throughout her career. Even in retirement, she continued to share her love for books by volunteering at local bookstores. Known as "Mimi" to most, she enjoyed spending time with her family, telling stories, solving crosswords, and shopping online. Joahne is survived by her daughters Merrie Whitaker and Memory Petersen of Nebraska, sons Jon Whitaker Sr. of Nebraska and Robert Ward, Jr. of Oklahoma, as well as numerous friends, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Doug Alan DuFur, 67, peacefully passed away on December 1st, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Chickasha, Oklahoma in 1956, he was the son of Charles "Blacky" DuFur and Katherine Zona (Frizell) DuFur. Doug spent many years as a ranch hand and found joy and pride in training numerous service dogs. He thought the world of his three precious dogs, Blackwolf, Graywolf and Babywolf. He enjoyed the time spent with his brother, Lindy DuFur, and enjoyed the companionship of many close friends. Doug is survived by daughter Jimi Wise of Chickasha, Oklahoma, one grandson of Chickasha, Oklahoma, and brother Charles Lindy DuFur of Chickasha, Oklahoma. Amanda Louise Miedel was born on June 22, 1988, in Altus, Oklahoma to David Miedel and Melinda Berry Miedel. She passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Amanda grew up in Granite, Oklahoma, and was a happy and kind soul growing up. She loved her children, and her parents were her best friends. The bond she had with her parents was so special. No one had a relationship with their parents as Amanda did. Amanda attended school in Granite, where she graduated from high school in 2006. Soon after she graduated from high school, she pursued a college degree. After she completed some college courses, she was blessed with the most amazing gift and the joy of her life, Serenity Danielle, and became a full-time mom. She loved being a mom and was an amazing mother to her children. In her spare time, Amanda enjoyed arts and crafts and was a Jack of all trades and a homemaker. She loved to be with her family and friends. On March 28, 2023, she was blessed with her second child, Trucker David, from the moment he was born he was a mama's boy and never left her side. Serenity was her best friend, and they were inseparable. They did everything together. Her babies were her whole world. Amanda loved spending time with her friends. She was kind, generous, loving, sweet, and loved the Lord. She would help anyone she could. Her very best friend was Janna Mills, they spent their lives as best friends and always stayed close and took care of each other. She will be greatly missed by all who know her. Mary Eulalia Zachary, age 65, of Oklahoma City, passed away on December 1, 2023, at her home. She was born in Ponca City, OK, on February 3, 1958, to George and Mary (Sears) Weisbrod, Jr. The family later moved to the OKC area, and she attended Moore High School. Following high school, she moved around. She lived in Las Vegas, then moved back to Oklahoma. While in Oklahoma, she met Hulen "Bubba" Zachary, and they started dating in 2001. The couple moved to Texas for 10 years before finally coming back to OKC. Mary was a homemaker, and she took great pride in her work. She loved her family, listening to music, playing games, and spending time with her husband. She also enjoyed doing yard work, especially taking care of her flowers. Mary is preceded in death by her parents and by her brothers Mark and Paul Weisbrod. She is survived by her husband Bubba; her sister Ann Cory; her brother Kenny Weisbrod; sons Kermit Zachary and wife Karla Avalos, Hulen Zachary, Michael Daniels and wife Kim; daughter Nita Brabham; grandkids, Heather, Haley, Michelle, Bo, Casper, Shelvin, Kyleigh, Tristian, Juni, Eli, Preston, Chris, Kailer, and many great grandchildren. He was married to Debroah Underwood. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and the United States Air Force and was very proud of his military service. He also worked as an Accountant for the United States Navy and Wilson Heat and Air. He was a true "Harley Man" and loved to ride on the open road. He loved his family and was very close to them.
