Mrs. Patricia "Pattie" Louise Hunt, 84 of Randleman passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023 after a period of declining health, surrounded by her family. Pattie was married to her husband Bruce for 65 years. She worked and retired from Energizer in Asheboro and after retirement was a sitter for many folks needing help. Pattie was a member of the Red Hat Society and loved the color purple. She cared so much for her cats, feeding the birds and squirrels and working in her flowers . She very much enjoyed the fall time of year watching all the changes in the environment and always enjoyed her many trips to Belks to shop. Pattie is survived by her husband Bruce of the home, 1 son Shannon (Kim) of Pleasant Garden, 1 daughter Teresa Lynn Groce (Mikel) of Asheboro, 2 granddaughters Jessica Lynn Wilson of Asheboro and Madison Noel Hunt (Fiancé) Reece DeForge of Pleasant Garden and 1 sister Janie Nance of Liberty. She was preceded in death by her brother Steve Pattishall and her parents Sanky James Pattishall and Mary Ferguson Pattishall. Funeral services for Mrs. Hunt will be Monday, October 9, 2023 at 10:00 am at Marlboro Friends Meeting House by the Rev. Ray Luther officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro. Visitation for Mrs. Hunt will be Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Randleman.

Floyd Raymond Frazier, 86, of Randleman, NC passed away October 22, 2023. He was born November 13, 1936 in Randolph County, NC to Fulp Thomas Frazier and Ethel M. Lamb Frazier. Raymond was a native of Randolph County and attended the Church of the Living Word. He proudly served his country in the US Army. He was a devoted husband of 52 years to Betty Sumner Frazier. He was a good, humble soul who loved his family. Mr. Frazier was a chicken farmer his whole life. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting antiques; signs, clocks, and gas pumps were among his favorites. He loved and thought of Sisy’s children and grandchildren as his own. Raymond is survived by his longtime friend and caregiver, Lucredia ‘Sisy’ Phillips of High Point; sister, Nancy Frazier Baily of High Point; two nephews and one niece. In addition to his parents, Raymond is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Betty Sumner Frazier; sister, Francis Frazier Macon. He was born in Greensboro, NC on October 26, 1963 to Robert Morris and Jacqueline Jessup Morris. Robbie was a devoted and loving husband and father. He spent 35 years as a maintenance technician at Dart Container. Known by his friends and family to be a stand-up guy and a truly good man all the way around. Robbie loved spending time in the outdoors and was an avid hunter and loved carp fishing. Joyce Sanders Wheless, 84 of Randleman passed away Friday, October 13, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born January 23, 1939, in Iredell County, North Carolina to Lee and Mildred Cagle Sanders. She was a 1957 graduate of Frank L. Ashley High School in Gastonia, North Carolina. Joyce was formerly employed as an X-ray Technician for Randolph Hospital and then for Asheboro Orthopedics for 15 years. Joyce was known as everybody’s mom. She was very loving and welcoming. All holidays were everything they were supposed to be, Immaculate housekeeper. She loved to be a doctor or nurse and help anyone in the family who needed it. She was the most concerned grandparent ever and was always there when you needed her. She loved to color and do floral arranging as well as interior decorating. Joyce was married to William "Bill" Wheless for 27 years until his untimely death in 1987. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Bill and two sons Steven and Mark and a sister Doris Beaty. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter: Janet Wheless Adams and husband John of Randleman. 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Thursday October 19, 2023, at 2:00 pm in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donna Lowe Scott presiding. Bobby was born in Hartsville SC, to the late Edna Kennedy Bohacheck and Roland Atkinson. Jimmie Joe Garner, age 83, of Randleman, NC passed away peacefully on the morning of October 8, 2023. He is survived by his three children, Sterling Garner, Chris (Amber) Garner, Danielle (Gary) Garrett, seven grandchildren, Justin Beverly, Gary Garrett Jr, Lindsey, Darian, and Alexandria Garrett, Christopher Garner II and Kylie Misenhiemer, one brother Benny Ray Garner, a host of nieces and nephews and countless friends. Jimmie Joe was born to the late Avery and Grace Garner of Asheboro, NC where he graduated from Central High School. He later moved to Randleman where he settled with his late wife, Margine Allen Garner. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, bowling and loved to dance. Jimmie Joe lived life to the fullest, and made everyone who knew him laugh, cry, and clap at all the stories he shared. Our family is grateful to know that he is finally at peace. Betty Jean Key Whitaker, born April 25, 1935, went home to be with Jesus October 1, 2023. Betty is survived by her son David Whitaker (Vickie); daughter Deborah Whitaker; granddaughters April Smith (Philip) and Nicole Carone (Jonathan); great grandchildren Lauren and Aaron Smith, and Olivia and Owen Carone. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Betty is proceeded in death by her husband Harry; granddaughter Sherry Goins Bray; her parents Jasper and Cora Key; siblings Lawrence, Clarence, Davis, Paul, Mildred, Bernice, Mary Ruth, and Hettie Lee. Betty was an active member of New Salem United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Her favorite hobbies were crocheting and playing cards with friends and family. Betty grew up in Surry County and loved sharing stories of her life and her family. She had a remedy for every ailment and stories to tell for every occasion. She loved the Lord and shared that love with others through her words and actions. She also loved her friends and family very much.
