November 30, 2023

On November 12, 2023, after fighting bravely for 30 days with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Dominic Bernardine went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family. He had been so happy to have been told 6 months ago that he was cancer free, after successfully overcoming colon cancer. He was born April 26, 1973, in Fort Lauderdale, Fl, the son of Don and Claudette (Schimansky) Bernardine. He leaves behind the love of his life, Bevely after 30 years of marriage. Family meant everything to him. Surviving are 3 beautiful children, Tyler Bernardine, of New York City, Dominic Bernardine, of Boca Raton, Fl, Brianna (Casey) Booth, of Delray Beach, Fl and a beautiful Granddaughter, Ava Booth, of Delray Beach, Fl, all of whom he adored. He also is survived by a brother, Donn Bernardine, of McKeesport, Pa, and two sisters, Jacqueline (David) Meek, of Nashville, TN and Melissa Bernardine, of Nashville, TN. He had been highly successful a few years ago in the internet business. He even lived in a mansion on the ocean in Malibu, which pales in comparison to the mansion he has now upgraded to in Heaven. . . "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. " John 14:2-6. He never doubted where he would go when he died. He often said, "don't worry about me when I die, I'll be with Jesus in heaven" and quoted John 3:16 He was adventurous, skydived, rock climbed, whitewater rapids, motocross racing, and much more. He had no fear and was bigger than life. He wanted to see the world. He lived in California, Venezuela, Vancouver, B. C. , Puerta Vallarta, Mexico, Montreal, and Las Vegas, to name just a few. Words cannot express how badly he will be missed by his parents, brother, sisters, wife, children, and grandchild. Their lives will never be the same without him. A memorial and prayer service will be held on January 15 ,2023 between 2:00 and 5:00, at the Glick Family Funeral Home, 3600 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, Fl 33431 To to the family or in memory of Dominic Bernardine, pleaseShow more

Alexandros Kokkinelis

Age - 82

November 30, 2023

With profound sadness and an immense sense of loss, we announce the passing of Alexandros "Alex" Kokkinelis, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Alex left us peacefully on November 28, 2023, at the age of 82, in Boca Raton, Florida. Born in the picturesque village of Katarahtis, Arta, Greece, on October 19, 1941, Alex's journey was one marked by dedication, love, sacrifice and resilience. His life was a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the power of perseverance. Alex's culinary journey began in the kitchens of Athens, where he honed his skills and passion for cooking. As the Head Chef at the renowned Electra Hotel, he delighted many with his culinary creations. This journey took a new turn when he moved to the United States, where he continued to spread joy through his cooking as a Chef at the Ritz Carlton in Boston, MA. His love for food and service continued as he became a proud owner of the Plaza Diner for 25 years. But Alex's life was more than his professional achievements. He was a pillar of the community, actively involved in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox and St. Mark Greek Orthodox churches. His commitment to his faith and community was evident in his participation in church activities and fundraisers for over two decades. Beyond his professional and community life, Alex was a man who cherished the simple pleasures. He found joy in his daily gatherings with friends at Panera Bread, his favorite local coffee shop. A history buff, he relished watching the History Channel, eagerly absorbing knowledge about the world's past. "Above all, Alexandros cherished his role as a devoted family man. He leaves a profound legacy of love and commitment survived by his beloved wife, Penelope, and cherished children: Eleni Georgakopoulos, Patricia Andreolas, and Lambros Kokkinelis. He also leaves behind fondly remembered sons-in-law, Peter Georgakopoulos and Christo Andreolas, and a grandson-in-law, Vincent Waver. His daughter-in-law, Sandra Kokkinelis, and treasured grandchildren, Bianca, Alexa, Penelope, Stefani, Zoi, and Niki, along with his great-granddaughter, Ruby, will forever hold dear the memory of his love and presence. " The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Alex's life. A viewing will be held at 8:30 am, followed by a service at St. Mark Greek Orthodox Church at 9:00 am. The funeral will take place at 10:00 am at the Boca Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at Rafina Restaurant at 11:30 am. In honor of Alex's life and his commitment to faith, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mark's Greek OrthodoxChurch.
