Nolan Wayne Glover, born January 18, 1952 in Humble, TX passed at home February 25, 2024 in Crosby, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Joe and Neelaine Glover, 2 infant twin brothers and sister, Nelda West. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Diane "Mickey" Glover, daughter Billie Jean Jones and husband Matthew, son Justin Glover and wife Amy, stepdaughter Heather Edwards and partner Jake Tyson, twin sister Elaine Horne, brother Joe Glover, brother Wayne Glover and wife Terri, five grandchildren, Lauren, Bella, Tanner, Cameron and Bailey, and numerous nieces and nephews.During his childhood, he loved animals and was known to have cats, dogs, horses and calves. He was a member of FFA in high school and raised show calves, receiving Grand Reserve Champion as well as other awards. He also received intramural awards for basketball, volleyball, flag football, hurdles and wrestling. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy and served from 1972 to 1976 on several ships including the USS Lexington.Some of his hobbies in life were fishing, camping, gardening and "piddling" around. He also enjoyed and took great pleasure in helping anyone in need of it. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. He joined Triumph Christian Center in 1996 and helped in building our church. He was elected as an Elder and became Sr. Elder. He also served as Head Usher and Deacon for many years. He left an impact on many people during his life and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Panela Jane Poston, age 82, of Crosby, Texas went peacefully on Monday, February 26, 2024. Panela was born in Mamou, Louisiana to Percy Granger and Ida Hollier. she was raised in Oakdale Louisiana. Panela married the love of her life James Poston on January 16th, 1976, in Houston, TX. after 24 years of marriage James was called home to be with the lord on October 6th, 2000, in Crosby Texas at the young age of 64. Panela is proceeded in death by her beloved husband Jim (James Poston) her daughter Paula Martin and great grandson Cody martin, and her loving parents. Panela is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Austin of Crosby TX, grandson Corey Austin and wife Jesi Austin of Liberty TX, and 3 great grandchildren Kylie, Zane, and Ella Austin of Liberty TX. Panela led a very successful career at SeaLand and retired at the youthful age of 56. She spent a handful of years creating beautiful memories with her husband, friends, and family. Panela and Jim purchased an RV that became their second home, as they made countless memories with Corey and Stephanie. Panela took joy in the slot machines at the casinos and loved playing bingo. Although Panela never loved to cook, she made the best chicken and sausage gumbo, and her grandson Corey would eat the whole pot in one sitting. One of her biggest weaknesses was she could never say "no" to her grandson. Panela was given the name Big Momo by her grandson, but that later evolved to Big Mama through her greatgrandchildren. Panela was a graceful woman who loved her family more than anything. She left this world knowing Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour and is now in a better place with her beloved husband Jim. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Crosby TX. Although she will be missed, Panela was loved, and made an amazing impact in many lives. A visitation for Panela will be held Monday, March 4, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. Shirley Crowe

Shirley Crowe was born on December 5th, 1931 in Combs, Arkansas. He died on February 24th, 2024 in Crosby, Texas. His growing days were spent in Berryville, Arkansas and Houston, Texas. He graduated from Aldine High School in 1949. He finished his working career in 1994 after 28 years with Maxwell House Coffee. He held many positions at their Harrisburg Ave. plant that could be seen "good to the last drop" from downtown Houston. He was proud to be a member of the Maxwell House family. While still employed, he began pursuing one of his interests. He served on the Parade Committee and Judging Committee of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He served one term as Vice Chairman for floats and wagons. He received the Bill Kurtz Service Award and left active service as a Lifetime Member. He left the earth on parade day 2024. He pursued another interest into retirement as a member of United States of America Track and Field (USATF). He was considered a master track and field official and a combined event referee for USAT and NCAA. He also did work with AAU Junior Olympics and Texas UlL. In many of his later years, he assisted Humble ISD in transforming Turner Stadium into a national premier track and field facility. His efforts have had him added into many Hall of Fame classes of different organizations, including USATF. He mentored many new officials with his example, encouragement, knowledge and love for the sport. One of his highlights was working in the decathlon and heptathlon for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. He was active with the rule book into his nineties but his mobility finally limited him. Shirley leaves a host of family, companions, co-workers, and friends to miss him. He lived a full life and we thank you for honoring his memory. There will be no public visitation or services. Interment will be private.

David Wayne Hayes, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend, went to be with the Lord, January 19, 2024 at his residence. David was born December 14, 1960, in Sherman, Texas, to parents; Kenneth and Dorothy Helms Hayes, a former resident of LaPorte and has resided in Crosby for 23 years. He worked in the medical field all his adult life as an operating room technician, surgical specialist, and doctor liaison, and so much more. David was a loyal employee. He was a talented artist and loved music. He loved spending time with family and he always lit up any room with his sense of humor and contagious laughter. Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by parents: Kenneth and Dorothy Helms Hayes, sister: Tanya Thompson. He is survived by his wife of 43 years: Glynda Perry Hayes, sons: Daniel Hayes and wife Mary, Michael Hayes and wife Stephanie, and Christopher Hayes and wife Michele, Six grandchildren: Braedon Hayes, Shayne Hayes, Ashlynn Stegall, Sarah Hayes, Bella Hayes, and Olivia Hayes, Two great-grandchildren: Hudson and Jackson Hayes, sister: Tammy Hayes, brothers: Rick Hayes and Clifton Hayes, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. His infectious and loving personality will be missed, by all who have met him and known him. Words cannot express the loss felt by his loved ones and extended family. Celebration of life services will be held from 4 p.m., with fellowship until 8 p.m., March 16, 2024, at The Barn at Four Pines Ranch, at 21101 FM 2100, Crosby, Texas 77532.

He was a very caring and helpful person. Buck loved fishing, deer hunting, and talking about the old times. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rudolph Sontag; her son, Arthur Sontag; her sisters, Bessie McGaffey, Christine Brown, Geraldine Marsh; and her brothers, Morris and Wilson Chandler. She is survived by her sons, Leon Sontag, Kenneth Sontag and his wife Elaine; her grandchildren Angela and her husband Robert Wilson, Leon Sontag Jr.,Lee Cardenas and husband Bradley, and Katie Nelson; her great grandchildren, Morgan, Hagan (Alan), Robert Majeski, Sergio Sontag (Hilliem), Krista Kersey (Jason), Ashlyn and Kylee Nelson, Quinton and Kingston Cardenas; her great-great grandchildren: Amelia, Alice, Trent, Hunter, Aliana, Leilani, and Keanu. She will also be greatly missed by her sister Francis Beard. Thelma was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend. Thelma had a love of sewing, crocheting, and crafting. She was also an avid Houston Spirts fan, cheering on all of the Houston teams - the Astros, Texans and Rockets. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Visitations on Monday February 12 from 6 to 8 pm at Sterling-White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Road, Highlands Texas. The graveside service will be the next day at 11:30 at Sterling-White Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Rudy.
