Patricia Fisher AdkinsMarch 18, 1942 - September 10th, 2023Patricia (Pat) Fisher Adkins (81) of Abilene, Texas passed away on September 10th 2023, at Hendrick Hospice Care after a short illness. Pat was raised in Houston, Texas and graduated from Lamar High School. Pat was a faithful member of Wylie Baptist Church in Abilene. Her loving church friends became family to Pat. They were there for her in good times and in bad. As a devout Christian, Pat was not afraid of death because she looked at it as a Homecoming with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Pat had an adventurous soul. She spent several years living in the wilds of Canada with her former husband, raising wolves. Pat was a lover of nature and an avid gardener who would spend hours working in her flower beds to ensure the plants were well cared for and were a source of enjoyment for others and nutrition for the birds she loved to watch from her livingroom windows. While Pat will be missed by many dear friends and family, they know she is at peace with our Heavenly Father and no longer suffering. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Bert P. and Alma M. Fisher. Left to cherish her memories are her son, Ross M. Perry (wife, Lek); daughter, Laura A. Perry; and Ross's son, Pat's only grandchild, Christopher R. Perry. Pat was also survived by her devoted dog, Happy, who brought her much joy for many years. David Charles Bryan, age 79, passed away with family by his side on Friday afternoon, November 17, 2023. A memorial service with military honors will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 10:30 a. m. in the chapel of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St, Abilene, TX. The service will be officiated by his nephew, Ross Strader, pastor of Bethel Bible Church South in Tyler, TX. David was born on December 18, 1943 to Edwin and Mary Bryan. He was the third born in a family of six children. David accepted the Lord as his Savior at an early age and was baptized at the Victory Bible Center as a young boy. One of the greatest influences on his life was his grandmother, Lucy Peters, who lived with the family until her death. She loved David and talked to him daily about the Lord. David attended the Bob Jones Academy located on the campus of Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. After graduating from the academy he enrolled in Bob Jones University. Two years later, in 1964, David joined the Air Force. He was stationed in Germany where he met the love of his life, Margit Poulsen, and her baby girl, Ninna Marie, of Copenhagen, Denmark. David and Margit were married in Copenhagen and in 1968, when his duty with the Air Force was completed, moved back to the United States settling in Long Island, New York. They eventually moved back to Abilene and David went into business with his mother, owner of Mary Bryan Draperies. He added the carpet business to the company. Over the years, David worked for various companies selling commercial carpet to hospitals, airports, and office buildings. He and Margit lived in Denver, CO, Nashville, TN, and Houston, TX. After Margit passed away in 2007, David moved back to Abilene. His last employment was with his dear friend Bob Bailey who owned B & L Carpets. David loved to fly fish and hunt. One of his favorite hobbies was shooting at the gun range. He loved music and politics and traveling the western United States. David is predeceased by his wife, Margit Alice Poulsen Bryan; his parents, Mary and Edwin Bryan; and his brother, Fred Bryan. David is survived by his daughter Ninna Hogan of Sacramento, CA; two sisters, Mary Sullivan (Scotty) and Martha Rau, and brother John Bryan, all of Abilene; and older brother Jerry Bryan (Val) of Arlington. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. David was generous, happy, and always ready for an adventure, he will be missed.Show more

He was born January 28, 1938, in Sweetwater, Texas. He married Jessie (Rodriguez) Ortega on October 20, 1960, in Sweetwater. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He lived in Sweetwater his whole life. Survivors include his daughter Christy Little and husband Lance of Sweetwater; three sons, Henry Ortega Jr. and wife Deanna of Sweetwater, Tony Ortega of Los Angeles, and Danny Ortega and wife Heather of Dallas; a sister Alicia Leal of Poteet; two grandsons, Spencer Little of Sweetwater and Tres Ortega of Sweetwater; and one granddaughter, Savannah Little of Sweetwater. Jerry Hewitt, 79, of Hamby passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 30, 2023, in Abilene, TX. A celebration of life will be held Monday, December 4th at 2 pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6649 Buffalo Gap Rd. Services will be led by his long-time friend, Pastor Rick Hargrove. Burial will follow at Hamby Cemetery. Jerry was born in Abilene, TX, to William and Lille Hewitt on November 2, 1944, being the youngest of 11 children. He married his wife, Gail, on June 13, 1965, in Abilene TX. He owned and operated his own company "Hewitt Painting" for over 40 years working up until the age of 72. He was a published local musician, who spent many years playing guitar and utilizing his beautiful singing voice. One of his proudest moments was in 1989 when he wrote and recorded his gospel album "Jesus Works for Me" in Nashville. Jerry never met a stranger and was always willing and ready to help any person in need. He was a mentor to many and a friend to all. After his siblings passed, he was a second father to many of his nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, father, six sisters, four brothers, a son, two grandsons, and a son-in-law. Jerry is survived by his wife Gail Hewitt, daughters Shelly Hewitt, Stacey Levrets (Randy), Stephanie Miller, Kelly Hewitt-Hamm (Kelly), two sons Troy Hall and Brian Hewitt, 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Richard W. "Dick" Casey of Abilene, Texas walked through the gates of Heaven on November 30, 2023. Dick was born to Joseph T. and Ethel (Hamner) Casey on August 3, 1934, in Runnels County, Texas. In 1952, Dick moved from Shep to Abilene to start his lifelong career of tile work. He worked over 60 years for Casey Tile and Carpet. He was well known for his ability to make every floor, countertop, and shower a work of art. Many of his repeat customers would ask for him by name and would be willing to wait until he was available to complete their job. Dick moved to Potosi in 1975 to a home that he had spent 3 years remodeling from the ceilings to the floors. Dick began attending church at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church in 1982. There he met the love of his life Hazel (Smith) Casey. They were married in 1984. Dick and Hazel enjoyed every minute of their 39 years as husband and wife. They loved to camp, travel, and square dance. They enjoyed spending time with their ever-growing family and were always up for a game of dominos. Dick was a man of faith, a quiet, but strong leader, had a heart of gold and a sweet tooth. They were members of the Prime Timers at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, the Good Samaritan Sunday School Class, and the Baptist Church Builders of Texas. Waiting to greet Dick into Heaven were his parents, three brothers, Tommy Ray Casey, John K. Casey (Monna), Joe Casey (Betty Ann), sisters, Jane Dean (Derrell) and Sarah Doucette (Ed), two sons, Rick Casey and Hal Smith, an infant daughter Kathy Casey, and a grandson Dusty Apple. Dick is survived by his wife Hazel Casey, two sons Mark Casey and wife Melody of Brownwood, Randale Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada, two daughters Debra Casey Havner and husband David of Tuscola, Rhonda Smith Tettleton and husband Clayton of Potosi, 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be 6:00 p. m. -8:00 p. m. Friday, December 8 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas. Ronald Earl Reagan, 81, of Abilene, TX, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2023, in Abilene, surrounded by his loving family. Ron was born in Big Spring, TX to Earl T. Reagan and Geneva (Langley) Reagan. He attended school at Big Spring High School and graduated in 1961, then attended Howard College in Big Spring. He married Charlotte Stevens on November 11, 1982, in Dallas, TX. In the early 1960’s Ron joined Zales Jewelers moving from manager trainee to District Manager responsible for multiple stores in Texas, remaining with Zales for fifteen years. In early 1981 Ron moved to Abilene, TX to join his brother in the private sector, relocating to Dallas in 1987 until 1995, remaining in the jewelry business. Ron owned and operated Ronald Reagan Jewelers in Abilene before retiring in 2000. Ron didn’t care much for retirement and relocated back to Big Spring to be closer to his ailing parents, eventually taking on full responsibility for his mother’s 24-hour care. Later he decided to pursue his second love, the car business. Ron worked with Pollard Cadillac in Big Spring where he remained until 2009. Ron and his wife Charlotte then retired to Lake Fort Phantom in Abilene. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his son Randall (Randy) Earl Reagan. Ron is survived by his wife of 41 years Charlotte Stevens Reagan, his children Richard Reagan of Wichita Falls, TX, Steve Raughton and wife Melissa of Kingsland, TX, Greg Raughton and wife Sharla of Abilene, TX, Jennifer Reagan of San Angelo, TX, and Alex Reagan of Kyoto, Japan. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Kari Reagan Jester, Amiee Reagan, Ashleigh Reagan, Hunter Reagan, Macoy Raughton, Maggie Raughton, Lyric Stilwell, Dustin Cooper, and Jennifer Weatherford, as well as three great grandchildren. "William Andress McCandless, 35, of Abilene, Texas passed away November 27, 2023. William was born December 6, 1987 in Lubbock, TX to Kenneth and Rosario McCandless. He and his wife, Chelsea Morgan Bradley, 35, were together for eleven years. They married on February 9, 2019. While in Abilene, he served the patients of Hendrick Hospital, in both the north and south locations, working in food service for Compass Group. He was a jack-of-all trades, serving as a dishwasher, diet clerk, patient dining associate, and floor stock associate. He was a charismatic and loving man whose passions included playing guitar with friends and in front of live audiences; playing board games and D\u0026amp;D with his wife and friends; and watching wrestling and marvel movies with his daughter. He brought many of his friends together to form lasting relationships and he loved his family dearly. Known by his loved ones as Bill or Billy, he is survived by his wife Chelsea Bradley; daughter, Charlotte McCandless; mother, Rosario McCandless; brother, James McCandless; uncles, Patrick McCandless, Keni Villa and Juan Villa; aunt, Elizabeth Greytok; grandmothers Maria Villa and Suzanne McCandless; and grandfather William McCandless. Patsy Shaddix, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister peacefully passed away on November 27, 2023. Born on December 17, 1947, in Brownwood, TX to parents, Arthur and Stella Williams, she lived a joyful and fulfilling life surrounded by loved ones. Patsy's journey started at Abilene High School, where she met the love of her life, Woodrow Shaddix. They tied the knot in 1965 and celebrated a blissful marriage of fifty-eight years before his passing in August. Together, they owned and operated Shaddix Implement for over two decades, becoming integral members of the community until their retirement in 2013. Upon retirement, Patsy and Woodrow settled on their beloved farm in Hodges, where Patsy cultivated her passions. She had a green thumb and took pleasure in tending to her gardens, nurturing her vibrant flowers, caring for her chickens, or even playing tag with the "friendly country armadillo". Patsy's farm was a haven for her cherished family, and she adored hosting "BBQs on the farm," creating unforgettable memories with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family meant the world to Patsy, and her love and warm personality endeared her to everyone she knew. She found delight in cooking and spending quality time with her kids and grandkids, making every gathering a treasured occasion. As a testament to her devotion, Patsy transformed her farm into a "tiny town," with streets named after her grandchildren. Patsy is survived by her loving children, daughter, Cassie Stevens and her husband Todd, and son Douglas Shaddix. Her memory lives on through her five grandchildren, Richard Krause, Mason Krause, Megan Krause, Andrew Dempsey, and Hailey Shaddix, as well as her nine great-grandchildren, Kye, Harlee Evans, Noah, Christopher, Paisleigh, Averly, Ivy, Octavia, and Amelia. Additionally, she leaves behind her sisters, Trisha Pace and Carolyn Williams, and her brother Arlan Williams and his wife Barbara; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Patsy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Woodrow; her parents; her brother, Alton Williams, and sister Wanda Coats. A celebration of Patsy's remarkable life and the legacy will be held on December 4, 2023, at 10:00 am. at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, located at 5750 Hwy 277 South. Maria was born February 27, 1993, in Abilene, TX to Diana Gomez Mendoza and Pedro Jose Mares. Maria received her primary education from Abilene Independent schools. She was a devoted mother, daughter and sister. In her spare time, she loved to spend time with her children, family and friends. Maria was a dedicated fan and loved her Dallas Cowboys. She was a strong woman who loved fiercely, she was both soft yet powerful. She left an imprint on everybody's lives she touched. Maria was preceded in death by her uncle whom she loved very much Roberto Gomez. Left to cherish her memories are mother, Diana Mendoza and her bonus father Bernabi Mendoza, her father Pedro Jose Mares. Frank Camarillo passed away at home on the morning of November 28, 2023. We ask for those that can to join us for his graveside services this Friday at 2:00 PM in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery located at 7457 W Lake Rd, Abilene, TX 79601. If unable to attend on Friday afternoon we ask for your personal prayer at or near the time of 2:00 PM Central Time. This is his story. Eugenio and Petra Camarillo welcomed Frank into this world on January 23, 1928 in Brownsville, Texas. He spent his childhood years in Santa Rosa, Texas until joining the United States Air Force as an enlisted for 21 years, and then again rejoining in Civil Service for another 20 years at the Dyess Commissary. While stationed in South Carolina he met his future wife Betty, a marriage union of 76 years until his passing. He is survived by his wife Betty Camarillo as well as son Frankie and wife Donna, daughter Starr who passed at birth but lives in our hearts, son Barry and wife Becky. The family unit of survivors also includes 3 grandchildren families of Ryan and wife Shao, Bria and husband Greg, and Bridget followed by the great grandkids of Evangeline, Chase, Gideon, Layden and many relatives spread across the United States of America. As a military family we were stationed in Spain and stateside at South Carolina, Alaska, Maine, retiring from 96 Svc Sq, SAC at Dyess AFB in Abilene Texas. He was known across the globe but often referred to as Sir, MSgt Camarillo, or Mr C. His family knew him as Dad, grandad and Gdad. He had a love of his country, family, and interests in fishing. He was baptized on February 28 1928 according to the Rite of the Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the Abilene First Church of the Nazarene. We wish to express a heartfelt appreciation for dads care in his final days to the staff at Hendrick Center for Rehabilitation, Gentiva, Kinder Hearts Home Health and Hospice and a special thanks to Robert, Juan, Andre, Sean, Judy and Jordan.
