Ramona Fisher

Age - 91

December 5, 2023

Ramona Francis Fisher, age 91, passed away on December 1, 2023. Ramona was born October 4, 1932, to Frank Raymond and Doris Aline Armstrong, in Greenwood, Indiana. The family later relocated to Anderson, Missouri. Ramona Armstrong graduated from Anderson High School in 1950. She was valedictorian of her class, a member of the glee club, won three letter as a volleyball player, participated in four operettas, had a role in the senior class play, was a cheerleader, and was the Missouri High School baton-twirling champion. She attended Tula University, where she had a scholarship to be the feature twirler for the band. It was there that she met Bill Frank Fisher, who played trumpet in the band. They fell in love at first sight and never looked back. They married on July 26, 1953. Bill began his career in the U. S. Air Force, and Ramona left school to be an Air Force wife. She had three daughters and, in addition to being a wonderful mother, participated in many activities. She was a hospital volunteer, substitute teacher, President of the Officers Wives Club, sang in many choral groups, and participated in several musicals and plays. While Bill was stationed at Clinton Sherman AFB, Oklahoma, Ramona went back to school at Southwestern Oklahoma State University where she received a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. After Bill's retirement to Norman, Oklahoma, she went to work for Local Federal Savings and Loan Association. She advanced to the position of Assistant Vice President before retiring to stay home with Bill. She substituted in the Norman Public School system for many years, and she wrote and published a volume of poetry called "Mona's Musings". Ramona and Bill were active members of Alameda Church of Christ for many years, where her generous, unselfish attitude blessed many people. Of course, in her later years, the delight of her heart was her grandchildren, and even later, her great grandchildren. She never tired of loving and caring for her family, whose boundaries included anyone she met. Her "family" felt blessed to belong to her. Ramona Fisher was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Frank Fisher. She is survived by her daughter, Billeta Lee and her husband Mike; daughter, Sonja Sipe and her husband Phil; daughter, Nicole Marcott and her husband Marvin; six grandchildren, Rachael Reeves and her husband Matt, Michael Lee and his wife Elizabeth, Todd Marcott and his wife Courtney, Phillip Sipe and his wife Bethany, Brett Marcott and his wife Jiwon Kim, and Frances Maynor and her husband David; and eight (soon to be nine) great grandchildren, Gerald and Fenix Sipe, Rory Kim and Aden Marcott, Liam and Roan Maynor, and Vivian and Eliza Reeves.Show more
