Patrick Ivar Buehler, 59, of Ottumwa, died at 10:07 p. m. October 5, 2023 at Keosauqua Health Center in Keosauqua. He was born February 24, 1964 in Waterloo to Donald and Coyla Greenwood Buehler. He married Doris Rae Wilt on July 18, 1998. Pat was a graduate of Cedar Rapids Washington High School and Southeastern Community College. He worked as a machinist. Pat was a loving husband and grandfather. He loved drawing, painting and anything artistic. He loved fishing and spending time on the river and in nature. Surviving is his wife, Doris of Ottumwa; a daughter, Krista (Aaron) Tedrow of Ottumwa; granddaughter, Madyson Morgan of Ottumwa; and a step-son, Adam Morgan of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Daniel Merle Buehler; and 2 step-sons, Jason Morgan and Aaron Morgan. His body has been cremated and no services are planned. Reece Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Stacy Lynn Yeager Deriso, 61, of Ottumwa, died at 8:05 p. m. November 30, 2023 at Ridgewood Specialty Care. She was born September 16, 1962 in Ottumwa to Norman and Marilyn Avery Yeager. She married Shannon Rousseau and later divorced. She married Brad Deriso and later divorced. Growing up in Ottumwa, she spent the majority of her life living in Salt Lake City, UT and Henderson NV. She attended cosmetology school, worked in housekeeping and was the manager of a hotel. She also worked in-home care. Moving back to Ottumwa in 2005, she attended Ottumwa Community Church. She was a member of the Camel Club and helped others with their addictions. She enjoyed camping, fishing, dancing with her daughter, her cigarettes and coffee. Most importantly she valued spending time with her friends, family and friends from Hillside Apartments. Surviving are her children, Trey Rousseau of South Lake Tahoe, CA and Allison Yeager Fears of Ottumwa; 4 grandchildren; her caregiver and friend, Alice (Harold) Roberts and their son, Johnie Roberts; a brother, David (Janet) Yeager of Ottumwa; nephew, Josh Lowe and Stacy's cat, Mr. Jangles. She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepmother, Betty Yeager; and her sister, Jane Lowe. Her body has been cremated. Visitation with her family present to greet friends will be from 5 p. m. to 7 p. m. Wednesday, December 6th at Reece Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Stacy requested memorials be made in care of her friend, Alice Roberts.Show more

Gary Lee Batterson, 78, of Prairie City, formerly of Ottumwa, died at 2:44 p. m. November 28, 2023 at his home. He was born July 26, 1945 in Iowa to Walter and Olive Brooks Batterson. Gary married Barbara Swanson on December 27, 1963. A 1963 graduate of Fremont High School, Gary had served with the Iowa Army National Guard from 1963-67. He and his wife lived various places through their retirement, living in Prairie City for the last few years. Gary worked for 33 years at John Deere Ottumwa Works, retiring as supervisor in 1999. He was a member of B. P. O. Elks Lodge #347. In his retirement, Gary mowed the greens at a golf course in Newton. He loved to golf, hunt, fish and was very proud of his lawn. Gary especially loved spending time with his family. Surviving is his wife, Barb; their children, Jim Batterson of Burlington, Cory (Gina) Batterson of Warsaw, MO and Laura (Tom) Sweeden of Altoona; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Judy Skinner of Moore, OK, Vicky (John) Wyngarden of Fremont and Mary (Gary) Dixon of Oskaloosa. Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Batterson; his mother and his father; and a granddaughter, Alyson Sweeden. Funeral services will be 10:30 a. m. Saturday, December 2nd at Reece Funeral Home with Monte Hess officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Walter. B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O. B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion. Cremation will follow the services. The family will be present to greet friends one hour prior to the service Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.Show more
