Patrick Ivar Buehler, 59, of Ottumwa, died at 10:07 p. m. October 5, 2023 at Keosauqua Health Center in Keosauqua. He was born February 24, 1964 in Waterloo to Donald and Coyla Greenwood Buehler. He married Doris Rae Wilt on July 18, 1998. Pat was a graduate of Cedar Rapids Washington High School and Southeastern Community College. He worked as a machinist. Pat was a loving husband and grandfather. He loved drawing, painting and anything artistic. He loved fishing and spending time on the river and in nature. Surviving is his wife, Doris of Ottumwa; a daughter, Krista (Aaron) Tedrow of Ottumwa; granddaughter, Madyson Morgan of Ottumwa; and a step-son, Adam Morgan of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Daniel Merle Buehler; and 2 step-sons, Jason Morgan and Aaron Morgan. His body has been cremated and no services are planned. Reece Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

But he gave so much to his family, warm cuddles, giggles, smiles and he could brighten a room with his presence. Left to cherish Archer's memory are his parents, Sam Chaney and Kashayla Rayhons of Lenox; a sister Ashlyn of Creston; a sister Alivia of Sioux City and 4 sisters, Parker, Journey, Phoenix and Nova all of Lenox; paternal grandmother, Karlene Huber of Lenox; paternal grandfather, Tim Sutton of Burlington, North Carolina; paternal great-grandmother, Vina Smith of Lenox; maternal grandfather, Chris Selvy of Afton; maternal grandmother, Kimberly McKay of Fontanelle; maternal great-grandmother, Joyce Vote of Lake Rathban; maternal great-grandparents, Jan and Kenny Archer of Ottumwa; maternal great-grandmother, Meredith Selvy of Creston; two beloved dogs, Romeo and Luna; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends. Preceding Archer in death are his paternal great-grandfather Everett Smith; maternal great-grandfather, Lowell Selvy. We will forever hold the precious memory of Archer in our hearts. Terri Lea Wiggins, 54, of Ottumwa, died at 9:16 p. m. December 5, 2023 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. She was born November 6, 1969 in Ottumwa to Bill and Leslie Borger Orman. Growing up in Blakesburg, Terri graduated from Blakesburg High School in 1987 and moved to Ottumwa the following year. She had worked many years at Kentucky Fried Chicken and then Walmart for the last 25 years where she was Front End Team Lead. Terri enjoyed reading, sitting in the sun and trips to the lake. She loved spending time with family and her children were the light of her life. Surviving are her children, Shayn and Maddi Wiggins, both of Ottumwa; siblings, Sherry (Kevin) Sylvester and Kent Orman, both of Ottumwa, Karl (Deb) Orman of Hamburg, NY; her father, Bill Orman of Ottumwa; a niece, Erin Sylvester (Brent Yates); two nephews, Blaine Sylvester (Emily Tams) and Clayton Orman; a great nephew, Nolan Scott; many aunts, uncles and cousins; bonus grandchildren, Marlie and Greyson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Leslie. Her body has been cremated. A time to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.Show more

Stacy Lynn Yeager Deriso, 61, of Ottumwa, died at 8:05 p. m. November 30, 2023 at Ridgewood Specialty Care. She was born September 16, 1962 in Ottumwa to Norman and Marilyn Avery Yeager. She married Shannon Rousseau and later divorced. She married Brad Deriso and later divorced. Growing up in Ottumwa, she spent the majority of her life living in Salt Lake City, UT and Henderson NV. She attended cosmetology school, worked in housekeeping and was the manager of a hotel. She also worked in-home care. Moving back to Ottumwa in 2005, she attended Ottumwa Community Church. She was a member of the Camel Club and helped others with their addictions. She enjoyed camping, fishing, dancing with her daughter, her cigarettes and coffee. Most importantly she valued spending time with her friends, family and friends from Hillside Apartments. Surviving are her children, Trey Rousseau of South Lake Tahoe, CA and Allison Yeager Fears of Ottumwa; 4 grandchildren; her caregiver and friend, Alice (Harold) Roberts and their son, Johnie Roberts; a brother, David (Janet) Yeager of Ottumwa; nephew, Josh Lowe and Stacy's cat, Mr. Jangles. She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepmother, Betty Yeager; and her sister, Jane Lowe. Her body has been cremated. Visitation with her family present to greet friends will be from 5 p. m. to 7 p. m. Wednesday, December 6th at Reece Funeral Home. Claudia M. Connolly, age 75, passed away November 28, 2023 in Omaha, Nebraska. Claudia was born on April 17, 1948 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Cyril and Angela Gaul. She lived for many years in Council Bluffs, Iowa. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jeremiah, on November 28, 2015. Claudia leaves behind daughters: Angela Day, Alice Jones, Andrea Burkhart, Amy (Perry) Fox; son, Jim Connolly; grandchildren: Brad, Josh, Kylee, Brett, Brooke, Trevor, Alex, Ethan, Ashley, Chelsea and Zoe; 17 great-grandchildren. Claudia has been cremated and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.Show more

Gary Lee Batterson, 78, of Prairie City, formerly of Ottumwa, died at 2:44 p. m. November 28, 2023 at his home. He was born July 26, 1945 in Iowa to Walter and Olive Brooks Batterson. Gary married Barbara Swanson on December 27, 1963. A 1963 graduate of Fremont High School, Gary had served with the Iowa Army National Guard from 1963-67. He and his wife lived various places through their retirement, living in Prairie City for the last few years. Gary worked for 33 years at John Deere Ottumwa Works, retiring as supervisor in 1999. He was a member of B. P. O. Elks Lodge #347. In his retirement, Gary mowed the greens at a golf course in Newton. He loved to golf, hunt, fish and was very proud of his lawn. Gary especially loved spending time with his family. Surviving is his wife, Barb; their children, Jim Batterson of Burlington, Cory (Gina) Batterson of Warsaw, MO and Laura (Tom) Sweeden of Altoona; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Judy Skinner of Moore, OK, Vicky (John) Wyngarden of Fremont and Mary (Gary) Dixon of Oskaloosa. Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Batterson; his mother and his father; and a granddaughter, Alyson Sweeden. Funeral services will be 10:30 a. m. Saturday, December 2nd at Reece Funeral Home with Monte Hess officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Walter. B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O. B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion. Cremation will follow the services. The family will be present to greet friends one hour prior to the service Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.Show more

Corrine E. McElroy, 85, of Floris, formerly of Ottumwa, died at 10:48 a. m. November 27, 2023 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born August 26, 1938 in Ottumwa to Louis Ray and Pansy May Eaves Robinson. Corrine married Ronald L. McElroy on October 11, 1954 and he preceded her in death on February 9, 2015. Corrine attended Ottumwa High School. She had worked in housekeeping at Sunnyslope Care Center and when it closed she worked at Ottumwa Regional Health Center, retiring in 2000. Corrine enjoyed gardening, visiting people, attending Senior's dinners in Eldon and at hospice. She loved spending with family, her grandkids and her beloved dog, Buddy. Surviving is her son, Danny (Vicki) McElroy of Ottumwa; 5 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and her brother, Walter "Snook" (Jean) Robinson Jr. of Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Dennis McElroy. Visitation will be open at 11 a. m. Friday, December 1st, at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 5 p. m. to 7 p. m. Friday. Cremation will follow the visitation. Christi Lynn Johnson, 63, of Ottumwa, died at 5:45 p. m. November 27, 2023 at Hospice House in Ottumwa. She was born May 30, 1960 in Ottumwa to Jake and Barbara Walters Roush. Christi married Orville Johnson on October 10, 1981. A 1978 graduate of Cardinal High School, Christi had worked at McWilliams Drug, then at K-Mart and back to McWilliams Drug and Drug Town, retiring in 2021. She was a member of The Bridge Church. She was an avid quilter, enjoyed cooking and baking, going on vacations to the islands and spending time on the beach. Surviving is her husband, Orville; their three sons, Jacob Johnson (Ashley Phillips) of Agency, Jarod Johnson of Moulton and Justin Johnson of Ottumwa; a granddaughter, Georgia Grace Johnson; her mother, Barbara Roush; and her brother, Larry (Marlene) Roush of Ottumwa. Christi was preceded in death by her father, Jake Roush and her sister, Lori Klyn. Visitation will be open at 11 a. m. Thursday, November 30th at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 5:30 p. m. to 7:30 p. m. Thursday. Funeral services will be 2 p. m.
