Age - 81

James William "Bill" Rose, humbly bowed to God's will and entered an eternal rest on Saturday, October 21, 2023, with his wife by his side. William was the son of the late John Walter Rose and Queen Ester Gordon Rose, born on June 19, 1942, in Westmoreland County. William accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Kinsale, Virginia. He later became a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church (Wolfe Street) in Fredericksburg, Virigina where he was a faithful Trustee. He took great pleasure in keeping the church grounds beautiful. He shared 42 loving years of his life with Jacquelyn Jones Rose to whom he was married in holy matrimony and made their home in Fredericksburg, Virginia. William graduated from A. T. Johnson High School in Westmoreland County and later made a profession of being a Bricklayer and Cement Finisher. William loved being a part of large, commercial construction projects. He eventually retired from Clark Construction but had worked for numerous construction companies over the years to include George Hyman Construction, Frank Little & Company, John J. Kirly Construction and D. C. Housing. William has always been known as a quiet man who didn't make a big fuss about very much. What he would make a fuss about was his wife, his yard, and his cars. He enjoyed taking such immaculate care of his yard with his wife, Jackie. They could often be seen by those driving by on Lafayette Boulevard, working on one thing or another in their yard, be it the pool, the lawn, one of their cars, or just relaxing on the sunporch. He loved to be outdoors just as much as being on the inside. Whenever he was in the house, he could usually be caught watching an old Western movie. William had a deep love of motorcycles and cars, specifically Corvettes. He belonged to a Corvette Club that allowed him to be with others who shared his passion. Anyone who knew anything about him, knew how much he LOVED his Corvettes. He even raced cars at one point in time. In his later years, William loved to attend car shows and would periodically place one of his cars in a parade. Regardless, he could be seen close to one of his sparkling-clean Corvettes. William is preceded in death by his mother - Queen Ester Rose, father - John Rose, brothers - Walter Rose, Robert (Buster) Rose and Charles Rose, and sisters - Lillian Veney, and Virginia Rose and Shirley Rose.
