With great sadness in our hearts, the family of Orma Evelyn Woods Maddox announces her passing. On August 23, 2023, Orma died at the age of 93. She was surrounded by her loved ones as she transitioned peacefully to be with her Lord in Heaven. She is predeceased by her parents, Arthur Wellington McDonald and Geneva McDonald; six brothers and her son Gregory Eugene Nettles. She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Wilbur Chapman Maddox Jr. ; her children, Stacy Lynn Nettles, Lee and Teresa Maddox, Cindy and Roger Kahn, Tigger and Jay Gore, and Chapman Maddox; her sister Virginia McBee; eight cherished grandchildren, Troy and Kim Nettles, Eli and Claire Kahn, Evan Maddox, Ella Bea Gore, Halie Glasgow and Greyson Nettles; and four great grandchildren, Jayden Nettles, Perryn Glasgow, Caleb Nettles, and Hazel Nettles. She has many treasured nieces and nephews as well. A Celebration of Orma's life will be held at North Atlanta Church of Christ on Sunday, September 24th at 2:00 p. m. Elizabeth Nicole Huelster, 29, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on December 2, 2023. A visitation will be held on December 10, 2023 at 1:00PM immediately followed by a funeral service at 3:00PM at Marietta Funeral Home located at 915 Piedmont Rd, Marietta, Georgia30066. Elizabeth was born on October 31, 1994 in Marietta, Georgia. While growing up in Marietta, Elizabeth attended Lassiter High School where she was an active member of the color guard in the championship Lassiter Marching Trojan Band, as well as a tuba player in the Lassiter concert band. Following her graduation from Lassiter, Elizabeth attended Berry College in Mount Berry, Georgia where she majored in early childhood education. Throughout her time at Berry, her love for music never faded as she was a member of the Berry band for many semesters. Born with the biggest of hearts and gentlest of souls, Elizabeth was naturally drawn to special education. Following her graduation from Berry, Elizabeth began her teaching career in the pre-k special education program at Findley Oaks Elementary School in Johns Creek, Georgia. During her first two years at Findley Oaks she simultaneously earned her Masters Degree in Special Education because of her deep passion for her students and her desire to prepare them for a positive and meaningful life. She ultimately earned her own special education classroom at Findley Oaks where she was adored by all of her students and colleagues. In her relatively short career, Elizabeth touched dozens of disadvantaged children's lives for the better, the positive impacts of which these children and the world will see for years and years to come. Although Elizabeth was burdened with diabetes, she stood strong and never let it take away from her positivity, her commitment to her students, and her love for her friends and family. Thank you Elizabeth for your beautiful soul and beautiful life. We will all miss you deeply.
