"1947-2023 Ramon D. Baca, age 76, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2023, after a tough battle with cancer. Ramon was the first of 8 children born to Doroteo and Carmen Baca. He is preceded in death by his father Doroteo R. Baca, mother Carmen B. Baca, brothers, George Baca, Jacob Baca and nephew Jonathan Baca. He is survived by his Wife of 20 years Cecilia Gomez Baca, her service k-9 companion Abby, brothers Arnold Baca, Patrick Baca (Annie), Angelo Baca (Judy), sister in law Elizabeth Montano Baca (George), sister Elizabeth Baca, and brother Charles Baca (Mary-Margaret). He leaves many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews who dubbed him "Uncle Buddy". Ramon graduated from Belen High School in 1966. Following high school he attended New Mexico State University and graduated in 1970 with a degree in Agriculture Business. After graduation he joined the New Mexico Air National Guard. During that time he started a successful career in farming. Ramon was a highly respected farmer in Valencia County, growing mostly alfalfa for hay and corn for silage. Arrangements are handled by Romero Funeral Home in Belen, with a visitation and rosary on Tuesday, December 12 at 5:00 pm at Romero Funeral Home chapel in Belen and visitation and Mass on Wednesday, December 13 at 11:00 am at Tome Catholic Church in Tome. William "Bill" Sullivan, age 89, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away on November 22, 2023. He was born in Center Hill, AR on March 8, 1934, and spent the earlier years of his life in Searcy, AR. Upon his graduation from high school, Bill entered the US Air Force where he spent 4 years as a radar operator. After his military discharge in 1956, he married Joyce Leighter and returned to his home state to attend the University of AR where he received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. After moving to NM, he was employed by Sandia Corporation. During his first 2 years at Sandia, he was in their TDP program and earned his master's degree at the University of NM. While employed at Sandia, Bill received the Karl Heinz Gyr and Heinrich Landis Commemorative Prize in 1971 by British Institute Electrical Engineers. This was awarded for his contribution in the field of electrical measurements. He retired from Sandia in 1994. Bill and Joyce enjoyed many years touring in the US, Canada, and Europe in their British Austin Healey with their British Car Club of America and in various antique cars with the VMCCA Touring Club. His most prevalent hobby was his passion for car restoration. He loved Austin Healeys most of all, and restored 7 of them over the years, including a British Taxi. Bill is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Lisa Sullivan; granddaughters, Stephany Trego and Thea Minifee; great-grandchildren, Gavin Sonnier, Demi Comeaux, and Amari Minifee; many nieces and nephews; and cousin, Earl Blyeth. He is preceded in death by his son, John Sullivan, who passed away in 2014. A Celebration of Life will be held in March of 2024 at the time of his 90th birthday. "1988- 2023 Lawren Hope Chavez, age 35, a resident of Punta De Agua, NM. Passed away on November 20, 2023. Services will be held at the Chavez Family Cemetery with Doris Jacques and Shirley Sweat officiating. Lawren is survived by her three children, Autum, Nasau, and Ava; and her fiancee, Eric Allen; her loving and devoted father, Andrew Chavez (Diane); grandparents, Don and Mary Welker; her loving siblings, brother, Gabriel Chavez (Cindy); sisters, Amber Chavez (Mark Sena), Sarah Ray (Jimmy) and Kristyn Mauricio (Javier); nieces, Elena Lantosh (Young), Elaine Gonzales (Nick); and nephews, Ezra Sena (Brianna), Eli Chavez (Morgan), Ethan Sena (Bethany), Ean, Ezekiel Sena, Javier and Jayvin Mauricio, and Kale and Declan Ray; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, great nieces, and nephews. Lawren was kind to all, she had a beautiful smile and loved to laugh and joke with those she was close to. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing and dance. "1942-2023 Gene Marquez, age 81, a resident of Belen, NM, was welcomed in to the arms of our Lord at his home November 2, 2023, surrounded by his family after a long, courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 beginning with a Visitation at 10:30 a. m. , followed by a Rosary at 11:30 a. m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p. m. , with Interment to follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. Gene was born on September 20, 1942 to Eugenio and Jenny Marquez. He served in the Army National Guard for six years. Gene served as a police officer for Albuquerque Police Department until retirement in 1984. After retirement, he worked for Sandia Labs, was a general contractor and then continued with social security administration as a security officer. He enjoyed, above all, his family. Gene was a very quiet and humble man he lived a simple life, he loved working outdoors. He loved working out and staying fit, hunting and fishing, his old western movies, boxing the history channel and cherry limeades. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugenio and Jenny Marquez, his sister, Eleanor (Norita) Marquez, in laws Manuel and Veronica Martinez, brother in laws, Louie Baca and Skip Burgett; nephews Danny Marquez, Frankie Marquez and John Armijo. Grandparents Antonio \u0026amp; Eleanora Marquez, Francisco and Josefita Marez. Gene is survived by his wife, Martha of 59 years, his sons, Gabriel (Liz) and Adam (Rita). Beulah Mae "Boots" Wilson, age 79, a resident of Belen, New Mexico, passed away on November 4, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of the Belen Coffee Club, and enjoyed reading, puzzles, crafting, and playing card games and dominoes. Beulah liked outbidding her husband when they played "moon" together. She liked snakes and spiders, much to the dismay of her family. She enjoyed country music and loved to watch western movies and shows. She was a Christian woman who cherished and adored her family. She was an amazing grandmother and great-grandmother who loved all of her grandchildren to bits. Boots is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Rubye McDaniel; brother, James Earl McDaniel; granddaughter, Alexandria Kimball; parents-in-law, Art and Nellie Wilson; brother, Lester McDaniel; and sister-in-law, Lanelda McDaniel.
