Ella McSmith, better known as "Granny" to some and "Aunt Ella" to others, passed away in the early morning hours of December 5th, 2023 in Wichita, KS after a battle with Metastatic Bone Cancer. Ella was born in Ponca City, OK on the 25th day of August in 1946 to Paul Ivan Lindsey and Josephine Alice Lindsey. Ella was the pillar of her family, and her loss will be felt not only by her family, but by the many lives she touched during her time on this Earth. Ella is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles McSmith. Son, Francis McSmith and wife Bliss McSmith. Daughter, Norma Fink. Grandchildren, Jessyca Schnack, Leila McSmith, Dale McSmith, Charles "Colby" Fink, and Melvin Fink. Great Grandchildren, Adyson McSmith, Aubree Schnack, Rylee Schnack, Skylar Branning, and Connor Branning. Sisters, Fran Wright and husband Mel Wright, and Mary Hill. Aunt, Judie Dugan. Brother-in-law, Brad Robinson. As well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Josephine. Grandson, Justin McSmith. Son-in-law, Charles "Benji" Fink Jr. Brothers, Wayne Tohee, John Lindsey, and Bob Lindsey. Sisters, Nonie Hermes, Pauline Thompson, Deanna Robinson, and Martha Briner. Brother-in-laws, Gary Hill, and Pat Hermes. Ella worked at Midwest Easy Stop at the corner of Liberty and Union for many years. Her favorite hobbies included crocheting afghans, watching birds eat outside her front window, and playing Solitaire and other various card games. The family would like to extend thanks to Phoenix Hospice of Wichita, KS for taking such great care of Ella in her final days with us. She is loved and will be missed by all. James Carroll "Jim" Keese, 70, of Enid, Oklahoma, passed away on November 26, 2023. Born on August 10, 1953, in Massena, New York, Jim was a kind man who never met a stranger and always did his best to help those in need. He was a very selfless person, always willing to lend a helping hand, whether it was through monetary support, providing clothes, or sharing his various skills. Jim is survived by his siblings: Judy Grinstead, Rose Haggart, Wesley Keese, Barry Keese, Karen Hanes, and Kimberly Keese-Brown. He is also survived by his children: Thomas Keese, Dannielle Lott, Johnathan Keese, and Casey Keese, as well as several nieces and nephews. Papa Jim was a proud grandfather to Careena, Jamesson, Davin, Casyn, Avian, Camdyn, Chloe, and Orion. He is preceded in death by his father, James J. Keese, mother Kathlyn V. Keese (Kirkey), brother Curtis L. Keese, and granddaughter Bayli Marie Keese. Jim attended Massena Central School in Massena, New York. He had a successful career as a heavy equipment mechanic and was a Certified Master Technician for Yale Lift Truck Technologies. Jim had a passion for music of all kinds and enjoyed fishing, classic cars, motorcycles, and making people laugh. A Celebration of Life ceremony for immediate and extended family will be held in the Spring of 2024. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral services for Patty Ruth Walter, 85, Covington resident, will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 in the First Baptist Church of Covington with Pastor Tommy Donaldson officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Covington Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. Visitation with the family present will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, December 4th at Stittsworth's. Patty was born on March 14, 1938 in Covington, the daughter of Alfred Powell and Delore Irene Divert Powell, and passed away peacefully on November 29, 2023 in Enid. She was raised in Covington, attending the Covington School System. Patty married Charles Edward Walter, Sr. in Enid on her birthday, March 14, 1955. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Covington. Patty loved to paint, reading, spending time with her grandchildren, she went through the whole bible once a yea. Patty and Charles traveled to several destinations. Survivors, Daughter, Tarri Hawkins of Garber, daughter, Sharri and huusband Lloyd Staples of Covington; grandchildren, Chuck and wife Martha Walter, Andrew Staples, Nikki and husband Cuco Nava, Shianna and husband Cole Glenn, Travis and wife Kellie Hawkins; 20 great-grandchildren,; 6 great-great-grandchildren.
