Oretha James Obituary

Oretha James passed away at her home on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, in New Orleans, LA. She was 73. She was born January 28, 1950, to Rosalie Hull-Turner and the late, St. Claire Raymond. She graduated from George Washington Carver Senior High and formerly worked as a caregiver. She was a longtime member of the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research in Gretna, LA. She leaves to cherish her memories, five children: Lamar James, Duane James (Sandra), Rica James, Derland James (Kandice) and Justin James; nine grandchildren: Syncere James, Dorian James, Devon James, Symphony James, Justice James, Jessa James, Zianna James, Andre James, and Desmond James; her siblings, Emma Williams, Keytree Turner (Michelle), Neacy Turner & Cedric Turner (Danielle). She also leaves an abundance of other family members to cherish her memories including nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest James; father, St. Claire Raymond; brothers, Morris Hull, Nathaniel Hull and John Henry Turner Jr and a sister, Patri Williams.
