Oaklee Freya Tolan, 3 years old, of Payne passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at home. Oaklee was born in Cleveland on March 11, 2020. She will be sadly missed by her mother, Emily Tolan; siblings, Wilhelmina & Lorayne; grandparents, Thomas II & Millie Holmes; & Uncle and Aunt, Thomas III & Kelsey Holmes, & and their children Thomas IV & Ava. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Harold & Anna Harshman; & cousin, Jammie Gandy. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 SR 500, Payne, Ohio 45880. Service will be 10:30 AM on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the funeral home, with viewing one hour prior. She will be laid to rest in Lehman Cemetery, Payne. Donna Louise Flagg, 90, of Payne, Ohio passed away Monday, October 9, 2023 at Vancrest of Payne. Donna was born in Payne on September 2, 1933, a daughter of the late Mildred (Bowen) and Chester Figert. She worked many years as a secretary, but her passion was always her faith in God and the love for her family. It was important to her that everyone know Jesus. Donna enjoyed quilting, cooking, working with puzzles, and gardening. She also always enjoyed time spent with her Red Hat Society friends and the fun and laughter they shared. Donna will be sadly missed by her children, Gwenn (Gary) Johnson, Penny Dillinger and Marvin Miller; stepdaughter, Judy Flagg Klunejko; brothers, Russell (Mildred) Figert, Robert (Jean) Figert and Richard Figert; 21 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Marvin Miller and John Flagg; son, Tim Miller; stepchildren, Judy Miller Holston, James Miller, Michelle Flagg, and Sherry Flagg; and sisters, Pat Blankenship and Linda Myers. Her funeral service is on Friday, October 13th, 10:30 AM with visitation one hour prior at Dooley Funeral Home 5761 SR 500, Payne. Irene Faye Benschneider, 75, of Payne, Ohio, passed away Monday, August 21, 2023, atParkview Regional Medical Center after a battle with cancer. Irene was born March 13, 1948, to the late Norbert and Linda (Marbach) Brenneke. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who always put others before herself and was eager to help friends and family. Her humble heart never wanted to be recognized for the love, care, and support that she gave to others. Irene loved spoiling and baking with her grand kids, which sometimes included having dessert for breakfast after sleep overs. She enjoyed a good road trip and spending time at craft shows, both selling her creations and shopping for unique finds. Irene worked for the John Deere store in Woodburn for over 30 years. In her retirement, Irene volunteered her time at The Rock Youth Center in Payne. Irene is survived by her children: Kim (Mike) Wietfeldt of New Haven, IN, Todd (Carla) Benschneider of Tampa, FL, and Chad Benschneider of Payne; brothers: Lloyd (Sharon) Brenneke of Hoagland, IN, Bruce (Jamie) Brenneke of Woodburn, IN; sister-in-laws: Ruth Brenneke of Antwerp, OH, Karol Poth of Maumee, OH; brother-in-law: Richard Helmke of Sandwich, IL; grandchildren: Abby (Bryce) McCoy, Zack (Megan) Wietfeldt, Mirayda Gurtekin, and Chloe Benschneider; great-grandchild Baby McCoy who will be arriving in October; special friend, Earl Huebner of Antwerp and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by siblings Roger Brenneke, Phyllis Helmke, and Mark Brenneke. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a. m. Arlette Ann Lopshire, 90, of Payne, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Vancrest of Payne. Arlette was born in Hicksville on July 13, 1933, a daughter of the late La Moile (Miller) & Ernest Levi Burley. On June 1, 1950, Arlette married the love of her life, Orlando James Lopshire. Arlette worked at Wayne Trace schools, cooking and cleaning for many years. She was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church. Guided by her faith, Arlette created a loving home for her children and grandchildren, and cherished the time she spent with them. She will be sadly missed by her children; Jimmy (Sylvia), Ernest (Donita), & David (Sue) Lopshire; sister, Linda Garman; 6 grandchildren; & 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orlando, on October 21, 2007, & her siblings, Fred Burley, Monyea Countryman, Karen Stephenson, & Jerry Burley. Stryker: Lois Mae Keith, age 94, of Payne, Ohio, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Parkview Hospital Randallia in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Lois was born in Tiffin Township, Defiance County, Ohio on June 21, 1929, the daughter of Ernest D. and Alma W. (Schnur) Heer. On June 18, 1947 she married Archie C. Keith, and he preceded her in death on February 1, 2006. Lois was a member of St. John's Christian Church in Archbold. She loved being a mother and raising her children, grandchildren and even helping with her great-grandchildren. Surviving Lois are her children, son, Carl (Diane) Keith of Defiance, and daughter, Pat (John) Mulligan of Bryan. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Butch Heer of Stryker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie; son, Donald Keith; infant great-grandson, Brandon; sister, Thelma Bartley and brother, Chuck Heer. Visitation for Lois will be held from 2:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M. on Monday, July 31, 2023 at the Grisier Funeral Home, 109 S. Defiance St. , Stryker, Ohio. Orlea (Burkley) Seely, 96 years old, of Payne, Ohio passed away November 12, 2022, at Vancrest of Payne, Ohio. She was born on July 23, 1926, to Raymond and Edith (Betts) Burkley in Payne, Ohio. She graduated from the Payne High School in 1944. In 1948 she married Vincent Seely, the love of her life, in Reading, Michigan. Vincent went home to be with the Lord on December 21, 2001. Surviving are four children - Robin (Gerry) Seely, Westcliffe, Colo. , Rodney (Jane) Seely, Huntington, Indiana, Donna (John) Bartolf, Somers, Connecticut, and Cathy (John) Ruiz, Payne, Ohio. Also surviving is brother Duane (JoAnn) Burkley, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and three sisters Veda Crawford, Napoleon, Ohio, Lorean McCollum, Paulding, Ohio, Lula (Lennis) Saylor, Payne, Ohio, brother Dorce Burkley, deceased. Orlea (lovingly known as Oma) leaves behind thirteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Orlea loved her family dearly. Vincent and Orlea both graduated from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. Orlea did further study through Utah State University, and St. Francis and IPFW in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Seelys and their children lived in LaPaz Bolivia, South America from 1959-1963, working in missions for the Church of the Nazarene with emphasis on church sponsored schools. Both Orlea and her husband were teachers and spent the last 19 years of their career both teaching 5th grade in Antwerp, Ohio elementary school. Both retired in 1987. Orlea was very active in the Payne Church of the Nazarene. Her favorite pastimes were knitting many afghans, gardening, birdwatching, tending to her flower beds, and keeping records. Visitation for Orlea will be held from 5-8 p. m. , Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding. Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. , Thursday, November 17, 2022, with calling one hour before at the Payne Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Michael D. Harper officiating. Interment will follow at the Lehman Cemetery in Payne. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to "Nazarene Compassionate Ministries". Ginger (Johnson) Chester of Payne, OH passed away on April 2, 2022. Ginger had a deep love for her Lord Jesus Christ. She told her husband, Roger, that she was going to see Jesus today. Ginger was born in Defiance, OH to Virgil and Grace (Fitzwater) Johnson. She lived in Paulding, OH and graduated from Paulding High School. She married Roger Chester on August 15, 1965. They were blessed with two sons, Darren and Brent Chester who both preceded her in death. Surviving is her husband, Roger Chester, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She also had two great-grandchildren on the way. Ginger very much wanted to see her unborn great-grandchildren, but it wasn't in God's timing for her. Darren's children, Madison Chester, Zechariah (Tina) Chester and Kaleb Chester live in the Sturgis, Michigan area. Brent's children, Mikaela (Joey) Newbery live in the Detroit, Michigan area and Makenzie (Kyle) Abrams live in Fort Wayne, IN. She is also survived by a sister Jean (Russ) Rigg and many nieces and nephews that she loved and cherished in her heart like they were her own children. She also had two daughters-in-law that she loved like they were her own daughters. Ginger was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Grace Johnson, a brother, Ralph Johnson and her two sons, Darren and Brent Chester. Visitation will be held 2:00 P. M. - 6:00 P.
