BLISSFIELD- Oakalette " Marie" McGowan, age 66, of Blissfield, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at Toledo Hospital. Marie was born on May 20, 1952, to Oakley and Lorraine (Arquette) Moran in Ypsilanti, Michigan. On November 7, 1992, she married Allan "Al" McGowan in Blissfield and they celebrated 35 wonderful years together. Marie was proud of her Chippewa heritage and passed this knowledge on to her children. She had many talents and was known to have a "yarn room" in her home where she created beautiful knitted and crocheted items for her family. Marie was very nurturing and demonstrated her love for family in everything she did in her roles as wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Marie was able to conquer any task she put her mind to and worked in a variety of sales positions over the years. She is survived by her husband, Al; children Anna Brandon, Daniel (Jennifer) Clore, Jr., Amanda Clore, Victor (Melissa) Clore III and Jessica McGowan; 8 granddaughters, 11 grandsons; 14 great-grandchildren and one sister, Melody Fields. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters and one brother. Funeral services for Marie will take place on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home Tagsold Chapel , Blissfield, with Dr. Rev. Victor Clore officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery, in Ogden Township. Visitation will be on Friday, February 1, 2019, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Tagsold Chapel.
