Norris Flynn Obituary

Norris "Chigger" Flynn, 86,Harrodsburg, KY. , widower of Madelyn Gayle Flynn, went to be with his Heavenly Father on May 3, 2023. Born August 25, 1936, in Lexington, KY, he was the son of the late Clarence and Delina Brandenberg Flynn. Chigger was a graduate of Lafayette High School and attended the University of Kentucky and Transylvania University where he played basketball. He was a member of the University of Kentucky K-Club Association, lettering in basketball. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. Chigger was a man of strong faith, loved the Lord, and was a charter member of The Carpenter's Christian Church where he faithfully served as an Elder, Treasurer, and a Spirit Lifters member. He was a retired Nationwide Insurance agent, owning his own agency. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and passionate about the Lord, his family, and his beloved UK Wildcats. He is survived by two daughters, Karen (Jeff) Meier of VA and Amy (Ben) Aubrey of TX; five great-grandchildren, Kayla Roberts, Jonathan Roberts, Timothy Roberts, Flynn Travis, and Sadie Travis; five grandchildren, Jeremiah Roberts, Matt (Ashley) Travis, Jorden Aubrey, Taylor Aubrey, Madelyn Aubrey; and a sister, Joyce Bouch. He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Flynn; the love of his life, Gayle Flynn, his wife of 52 years; three brothers, Melvin Flynn, Jimmy Flynn, and Bobby Flynn, and two sisters, Betty Bishop, and Nona Richie. Funeral services will be at The Carpenters Christian Church, Harrodsburg, KY on May 18 at 10:00 a. m. with Pastor Greg Warren officiating. The burial will immediately follow at the Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jeff Meier, Ben Aubrey, Jeremiah Roberts, Matt Travis, Jordan Aubrey, Doug Flynn, and Brad Flynn. Visitation will May 17 from 4:00 p. m. - 7:00 p. m. at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel in Harrodsburg, KY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Carpenter's Christian Church, 1340 US-127 Bypass, Harrodsburg, KY 40330.
