Born 8/30/1950 She attended Bibleway Assembly Norma was employed by Wal- Mart for 25 years She was preceded in death by her husband Winston W. Jernigan Her Mother and Father Rev. J. C Reed and Mary Reed. Her brother Carl V . Reed Her brother Hurbert Reed Her brother L. J. "Although the timeframe was sooner than those who loved him would have hoped, Joseph Raines, Jr. achieved his highest goal on December 2, 2023, when he drew his final breath on Earth and moved with love and wonder into the arms of his Heavenly Father, the One he sought to understand and know more fully every moment of his life. Joseph was born in Sheridan, Indiana on November 10, 1932. After growing up in New Hampshire, he joined the U. S. Navy, where he served as a quartermaster during the Korean War. He then began a 35-year civil service career for the federal government and served in various leadership capacities in naval shipyards within the U. S. and in the Philippines. Joe's leadership abilities allowed him to have many vocational successes before he retired and moved to Foley, Alabama in 1988. Joe was a devoted family man and devout Christian. He married the love of his life, Norma Blair Raines, in 1954. They had a deep and abiding love for each other through their 69 years of marriage. He was also a long -time, faithful member of Gulf Shores First Baptist Church and Church at the Shores in Gulf Shores, Alabama. His greatest joys were spending time with his family, game nights with friends, playing golf, watching baseball, and cheering on the Crimson Tide. His ever-present smile and endless stories endeared him to everyone. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Raines, Sr. and Louise Stock Raines, his brother Gary Raines, and his sister Winifred Raines Jones. He leaves behind a devoted family, including his wife, Norma Blair Raines, and his brother, William Raines. Others include his three children: daughter Joyce Raines Woodburn (Woody), daughter Brenda Raines Grabbe (Mike), and son Michael J. Raines (Patty). He is also survived by his eight grandchildren: Lindsey Hunter (Ben), Rebekah Kennedy (Shawn), Allison Hotchkiss (Adam), Lauren Simmons, Joseph M. Raines, John Grabbe (Jennie), Michael G. Raines (Rebekkah), and Kelley Wilson (Eric). His legacy continues through his 17 great-grandchildren, who from oldest to youngest include, Nathan Hotchkiss, Kate Hunter, Jackson Hunter, Cooper Simmons, Maggie Kennedy, Caroline Hotchkiss, James Wilson, Hannah Simmons, Emily Hotchkiss, Logan Grabbe, Dominic Grabbe, Macallan Kennedy, Avery Wilson, Abigail Hotchkiss, Elliot Raines, Sydney Wilson, and Jack Raines. The family would like to give special thanks to Gentiva Hospice, various doctors and nurses, and a myriad of friends and neighbors for the wonderful care provided to Joe during his final days. A memorial service was held for Joe at Pine Rest Cemetery on December 7, 2023. It was led by Dr. Shawn Kennedy, lead pastor at Church of the Shores. SHE GRADUATED FROM CHARLESTON HIGH SCHOOL AND FROM SOPHIE NEWCOMB COLLEGE OF TULANE UNIVERSITY WITH ABACHELOROFSCIENCE DEGREE. SHE WORKEDAS AMEDICAL TECNOLOGIST NI NEW ORLEANS, LA. AND BALTIMORE MARYLAND. SHE ALSO RECEIVED HER MASTERS DEGREE AND TAUGHT NI THE HUNTSVILLE SCHOOL SYSTEM FOR SEVERAL YEARS. SHE MOVED TO HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA WHERE SHE WAS ACTIVE NI FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH. SHE SERVED NI MANY COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, INCLUDING COSMOPOLITAN CLUB, HUNTSVILLEMUSEUM OFART GUILD, HUNTSVILLE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA GUILD, AND HUNTS SPRING DAUGHTERS OF AMERICAN REVOLUTION. "Mr. John David Haigler, lovingly known as John , Jack and JD passed away peacefully on Monday night , November 27, 2023 in Covenant Care in The Sacred Heart Medical Center after a long battle with Brain Cancer. For seven months John was a witness to us all as he continued to fight his cancer with a positive, kind and uplifting attitude. He was able to remain at home in his beloved Ceilo residence in Lillian AL until Thanksgiving day when he was rushed to Sacred Heart Medical Center with new cancer complications. John was then placed in Covenat Care until the Lord ended his suffering and took him home to Heaven. He had just turned 83 years old two weeks before he passed away. On his birthday he was able to enjoy a wonderful party and fun visit with his family that will always be remembered and cherished. John was born on November 14, 1940 to John Harold and Orrie Lou Haigler in Shreveport , Louisiana. He also lived for many years in Greensboro , North Carolina and then finished out his retirement on the gulf coast in Lillian, Alabama. John was proud to serve his country in the United States Air Force for four years during the Vietnam War. Following his military service John enjoyed a rewarding career with AT\u0026amp;T in both Louisiana and North Carolina . He retired from AT\u0026amp;T and continued to work in a new career with The North Carolina Department of Transportation . After his retirement from the NCDOT John enjoyed entrepreneurship with a lucrative Deck business that he enjoyed for many years. John David was active in his local church wherever his location. He Loved ALL people and strived to be busy in mission work and bible study. He went all over the globe on numerous mission trips and enjoyed traveling with his family and friends. John was easy going, happy and kind . He was a humble and unassuming man. He always gave others the benefit of the doubt and loved to pray for others. He wanted to laugh and be happy and have fun. His eyes and smile were always bright . He loved to share stories with his family and friends . He was a good listener and a wise man. He was always content with what he had and did not complain. John was always in the mood for a sweet dessert and ate dark chocolate by the pound! John also enjoyed cars and any kind of racing . His garage was his pride and joy. He loved to work on any engine and tinkering all day on his classic cars was his passion. He was a talented mechanic as well. He was involved in many car shows and swap meets. He loved to collect car memorabilia and read every car magazine. Toward the end of his retirement John also loved to work in his large yard. He was an avid bird enthusiast and had fun with his many bird feeders and feathered friends. His last and treasured accomplishment was to become a member of the Lillian Masons Lodge 925 . He was active in the Lodge until the end and loved his mason brothers. His passing will leave a hole in the heart of his loved ones, family, friends and community. Anyone who spent time with John was blessed . He is survived by his loving wife Creslyn Smerznak Haigler, his son John Micheal Haigler and his wife Theresa Haigler. His son Justin E Haigler and his wife Angie Haigler. He was also a beloved "Grandpops" to his five grandchildren : Lauren Clawson and her husband Carter Clawson , Ashley Grubbs and her husband Jacob Grubbs, Hannah Haigler, Ian Haigler and Emma Haigler. He was also a Precious "Pop Pop" to his extended children and grandchildren: Austin and Emma G Barnes and Dwight and Emma K HIlton with their children Nathan Daniel and Cassidy Marie Hilton and he was a special friend to Father in Law , John Robert Smerznak. He also leaves behind his dear sister Jill Holtzclaw and beloved nephew Jeff David Bailey both of Louisiana. He will leave behind many friends , his treasured church community and lodge brothers. John was preceded in death by his mother and father . As well as his twin brother Joseph Haigler. "Robert Glen Hawkins, a resident of Foley, AL passed away at home Monday, November 20, 2023, at the age of 64. He was born in New Orleans, LA, on October 12, 1959. The fourth child of Robert Lee and Julianne (Tatum) Hawkins, he was the baby, and their only son. He attended Marion Abramson High School in New Orleans before moving with his family to Baton Rouge, LA in 1976. In his early work life, Robert apprenticed in construction working on the Historic Catfish Town project near the State Capitol. In 1992 he moved to Foley, AL where he worked as the Maintenance Supervisor at Tanger Mall for 13 years. He loved listening to and recording music, especially Lynyrd Skynyrd and anything by Jimmy Vaughn or little brother Stevie Ray. After seeing photos of a Jimmy Ray Vaughn statue in the Oak Cliff suburb of Dallas, he said he wanted to see the real thing, but sadly knew he would never be in Texas again. He had a large collection of songs he often played by early Blues Artists such as Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, and Blind Lemon Jefferson to name a few. He also enjoyed reading biographies of musicians and could tell you the life history of his favorites, such as Tammy Wynette. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Robin Alene Hawkins. Robert is survived by sisters Julia Leigh Deas (husband Joel Deas), Jan Allyson Hawkins (husband Kenny Pirkle), girlfriend Diane Moore, Aunts and many cousins. A private memorial service will be scheduled at a future date. If desired, contributions can be made in his honor to the American Lung Association, the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. He will be missed dearly every day!"Show more
