"Norma Fay Huff, known best to everyone as Fay, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023, at her home in Mobile, Alabama. Fay was born September 6, 1947, at Jackson County hospital in moss point Mississippi to Norman and Doris Saksa. Fay was the eldest of three children with a younger brother, Tommy, and a younger sister, Cindy. She attended high school in Moss Point, Mississippi and graduated in 1965. Her first marriage-they were married for 29 years and ended with Wayne\u0027s death on September 4, 1994. Her second marriage-they married April 1995 and ended with Fays death on September 4, 2023. Her hobbies and life-Fay loved everything to do with Mardi Gras including being a long-time member of several organizations in the Mobile area. Fay lived her life for the carnival season and Mississippi State football. She also enjoyed cooking for her loving family, crafting and of course gossiping. She is preceded in death by her first husband James Wayne Williamson, daughter, Robin Williamson, grandson, Dustin Broadus, sister, Cindy Hebert, and several other close family members. She is survived by her adoring husband, Jack huff, her daughter, Tonia Broadus, stepchildren, Steve Huff, Laura Huff, and Richard Huff. Her grandchildren, Justin Counselman, Chasity Counselman, Logan Kay, Allison Kay, and Stephanie Huff and one great grandchild, Ashlyn Hendrick, her brother, Tommy Saksa, several loving nieces and nephews, and more friends that can be counted. Services are September 11, 2023, with visitation from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon and services staring at 12 noon at Serenity Funeral Home in Theodore, Alabama. Graveside service to follow at Orange Grove Cemetery in Moss Point, Mississippi. Funeral will be officiated by Jeff Saksa and pall bearers are Justin Counselman, Evan Hebert, Nick Smith, Jonathon Becton, and Kevin Broadus. "

Gayla Joy (Tice) Gardner November 13, 1958 - November 29, 2023 Gayla Joy Gardner (nee Tice) peacefully passed away on November 29, 2023 at the age of 65. She was born on November 13, 1958, in Meridian, Mississippi and was a longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama. Gayla was a loving and caring individual who was always there to offer a helping hand. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Gayla is survived by her sons, Matthew (wife Yvonne) Farley and Noah Farley. She was a proud Mimi to her grandsons Jaden Farley, Jackson Farley, Brayden Farley and Chandler Wilson and granddaughters Jordyn Wilson and Joshlyn Wilson. Gayla is also survived by her sister, Kay Smith, her brothers, Andy (wife Kay) Tice and Tony Tice, along with her sister-in-law, Sharon Tice and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Vernon A. Tice, Sr. and Virginia B. Tice, brothers Darrell Tice and Ben (Bo) Tice and brother-in-law Ricky Smith. Gayla was an excellent salesperson whose enthusiasm and empathy for her customers often led her to rank top in sales. She enjoyed reading and cooking in her free time. Gayla found joy in exploring new recipes and sharing her culinary creations with her loved ones. Her warm and friendly nature made her a beloved member of her community. Services to celebrate Gayla's life will be held on December 7, 2023, at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Mobile, Alabama. Thomas Webster Hewitt. October 04,1938-December 3,2023. Born in Adrian, Michigan to Katherine Killoren Hewitt and Arthur Cromwell Hewitt. Sisters Betty Ann Hodges, Eleanor Mea Hunt both deceased. Survived by his wife of 55 years Sheri Dobler Hewitt, son Thomas Bartholomew (Bart) Hewitt, (Karissa McCoy), daughter Margaret (Meg) Elizabeth Caldwell( Bryan), daughter. Grandchildren, Braeden Caldwell, Killoren Caldwell, Moira Hewitt. Nieces: Susan Hunt (Jon Rutschky), Beth Claypoole, (Jeff) Dianne Hunt(Rick, deceased), Shelley Johnson(Rob), Nephews: Steven Hunt(Lynn), Jay Hodges(Neva) , Will Frandsen (deceased)and many great nephews. He graduated from Western Michigan University with a BA in History, served in the US Army as a 1st Lieutenant and went overseas during the Berlin Wall Crisis. Upon discharge, he went back to WMU to complete his Masters. Tom taught High School History in Sturgis, MI and following that taught at Oakland Community College. He met his wife on a substitute blind date in Detroit. A long story. . after marriage he attended and received his Doctorate from the University of Houston and worked at a nonprofit Character Education project in San Antonio TX. From there he taught at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS. He ran Teacher Corp projects and taught curriculum education. His career then brought him to University of South Alabama where he served as President of the Faculty Senate, and Department Chair of Education. He was on the Board of then Mobile Area Food Bank, President of the Board of the Mobile Daycare Association and ran the Childcare Worker Training Program. He was an excellent grant writer, teacher, and mentor. Upon is retirement he wrote a textbook on curriculum as he knew there was not one on this subject. It is still being used by some today. Tom was an avid gardener, reader, bird watcher, grill master and punster. He loved his family fiercely and was a loyal brother and friend. Travel was always on his calendar and there were two cruises booked in the next year. Tom and Sheri traveled the world together and even liked long road trips. Tom belonged to the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, and two mystic societies. He was a lifelong Episcopal Church member and attended All Saints in Mobile where he was a past vestry person along with singing in the adult choir for 30+years with his wife, Sheri. Yvonne Cherie Graham, 70 of Mobile Alabama, passed away from heart failure November 29, 2023. She is now present with the Lord. She was born May 22, 1953, in Astoria Oregon to George and Donna Takko. She was a 1971 graduate of Astoria High School and attended Lindel College. She married John M. Graham in 1983 and became a military wife. A role she excelled at for 27 years and 10 moves to port cities in Virginia, New Jersey, Guam, Alaska, Washington, California, and finally Mobile Alabama. Throughout her 40-year marriage, she was a loving, dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother to not only her children but any child that entered her home. Together with her husband, she walked beaches from Hawaii to Florida, Oregon to Guam. She hiked glaciers in Alaska, boonie stomped the jungle in Guam, toured WWII battlefields on Saipan and Civil War battlefields in Virginia and Tennessee. And even though she had done and seen so much, she was fond of saying, "you can't do everything!" She was passionately dedicated to God, country and her family. She lived her life to be a witness for her Lord Jesus Christ. She was known for her love and her laughter. She was an avid Crimson Tide fan but became a fan of LSU marching band after her granddaughter Hannah joined the band. She thoroughly enjoyed Mardi Gras, but absolutely loved Christmas. She waited all year for the Christmas season to begin. She loved animals especially Pinto the terrier, Chloe the Chihuahua, and her cats. She is survived by her husband John M. Graham, children, David Harrison and wife Renee' of Washington, Jessica Zado and husband Paul of Louisiana, Amanda Yarbrough and husband Blaine of Alabama, and Benjamin Graham of Alabama. Her grandchildren, Pamela Hammond and husband Chris, Elias Harrison, Hannah Zado, Jack Zado, and Amelia Yarbrough. Her brothers Arnold Takko and wife Brenda, Ted Takko and wife Annette, David Takko and sister Yvette Niemi and husband Rob. She touched the lives of many of her children's friends as well as many Coast Guard members and their families. Her home was always welcoming and full of laughter. Her laughter now rings in Heaven. A memorial service will be held at Ascension Funeral home at 1016 Hillcrest Road in Mobile AL on Thursday December 7th at 5:00 pm.Show more
