Norma Gaston Obituary

Norma Lance Gaston, 86, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023. Mrs. Gaston was born October 14, 1936, in Asheville, to the late Henry Lewis and Magnola "Nola" Miller Lance. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buck "Sonny" Gaston (2015); sisters, Ruth Treadway and Jo Anne Miller; and brother, H. L. Lance, Jr. Norma worked as a secretary at American Enka (BASF) for more than 30 years. She was a member of Oak Forest Presbyterian Church and was active with the Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by daughters, Cathy Watkins and Wanda Gaston; great-granddaughter, Shana Marie Franklin; and sister, Erma Penland. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p. m. Tuesday at Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. Monday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
