Margeret Kathleen Wood, fondly known as Peggy, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away on February 13 , 2024 from emphysema. Peggy was preceded in death by both her parents, Hubert and Margeret Chase, and a brother, Michael Chase. She is survived by her loving husband, Steve Wood; her children, Joe Wathen (Kylene), Mary Bedsworth (Rick), Diane Burton (Charlie), Tonya Ramel (Rick), and Mario Guerrero (Naima); her ten grandchildren, Toree (Luke), Laney, Kayla, Riley, Jake, Andy, Yoli, Sara, Dakota, and Hannah; and her four great grandchildren, Roland, Willow, Haven, and Juno. She is also survived by her brother, Dennis Chase (Sandy) and many nieces and nephews. Peggy was a proud and talented small business owner, having operated two hair salons between 1992 and 2016. Peggy enjoyed reading and audiobooks, going to casino boats, and a good political debate. She requested a gravesite ceremony with family only; however, the family will receive visitors Saturday February 17, 2024 from 12:00-4:00 p.m. at the residence of Steve Wood: 34104 E Pink Hill Road, Grain Valley, Missouri 64029. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be sent to the National Hospice Partnership Foundation or any catholic charity, in memory of Peggy.

A committal service to follow with full Military Honors will be at 1:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri. Donald was born November 29, 1951 in Kansas City, Kansas. The son of Herbert R. and Alberta M. (Walters) Reed. He married the love of his life Paula Snyder in February 1973. Donald worked for DST, retiring in 2008. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and always enjoyed making people laugh. Donald was an Army veteran with the 101 Airborne and served in the Vietnam war. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, of 43 years, Paula Reed in 2016; great-grandson, Barrett Plymell; brother, Ronald Reed; brother, Kenneth Reed; and sister Marilyn Bivens. Donald is survived by daughter, Angela Reed of Grain Valley; 2 granddaughters: Jessica Plymell (Christian) of Grain Valley and Bailey Reed of Grain Valley; 2 great-grandsons: Weston Plymell and Forrest Plymell; sister-in-law, Patty Reed of Paola, Kansas; sister-in-law, Mary Hernandez of Grain Valley; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mike was born December 22, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri to Frank and Ollivene (Rau) Spurgeon. He worked in food management for 40 years. Mike enjoyed spending time outdoors, deer hunting and going fishing. He enjoyed watching KU sports and the Kansas City Chiefs. Mike loved watching his grandchildren dance, play in the orchestra and sing in recitals. He also enjoyed attending their outdoor sport activities, football, basketball and track. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Charles, Frank, and Phillip Spurgeon. He is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years, Glenda who resides at the home. Two daughters; Jennifer Hopson of Independence and Stephanie Spurgeon of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, McKenzie Becker, Mikylah Blackmon, Zen Hopson, Steele and Stylz Blackmon; great grandchildren, Alex and Ace Becker, Malai and Mori’Yonna Harrison-Blackmon; brothers, David (Theresa) Spurgeon of Shawnee, Kansas; Daniel (Suzanne) Spurgeon, Paul Spurgeon all of Raytown, Missouri; and his favorite sister, Sandra (Dan) Emily of Independence.

She was an active member of Crossroads Church of Grain Valley. Darless was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority as well. Darless leaves behind her husband Jerry; her children: Lyne and Rick (Leanne); sisters: Denise (Rick) and Delores (Troy); grandchildren: Elizabeth (Blayne) Newton, Ryan and Ben Fraizer; great- grandson Noah Newton. She also had many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father: Ethel and Elmo L’Hommedieu; and granddaughter, Amanda M. Hart. She was united in marriage to Michael Windsor on January 19, 2018 in Key West, FL. Billie worked in sales all of her working career. She enjoyed listening to 1960’s music and cleaning the home. Augustine Anthony Creonte Jr.

Augustine (aka Tony, Augie, or Doc) Anthony Creonte Jr., 77, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away on January 19, 2024, after a lengthy illness. Tony was surrounded by many loved ones and passed peacefully. He was born September 10, 1946, to Augustine Sr. and Louise Creonte in Waltham, Massachusetts. After graduating from Waltham High School in December 1963, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. His first assignment was Plattsburgh Air Force Base, Plattsburgh NY, where he met the love of his life Patricia A Winslow. After serving a tour in Vietnam they married on October 22, 1966. Augie and Patricia would go on to have four children, Augustine III, Robert, Mark, and Cherie. Augie was a wonderful and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. For over 25 years, he proudly wore our country’s uniform, serving in several conflicts, to include the Vietnam War, Panama, and Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He always taught his family to love God, their spouses, and children, not only in his words but in his actions. Augie was always supportive of what his children did and extremely proud of their accomplishments. He was always there for them during the difficulties of their lives. His proudest moments were the birth of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Augie was predeceased by his mother, Louise, father, Augustine Sr, and second mother, Edith. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia; sons, Tony (Nina) of Dallas, Texas, Robert (Myrtle) of Fairview Heights, Illinois, Mark Creonte of Dallas, Texas, and daughter Cherie Creonte-Richards (Travis), of Grain Valley, Missouri. His grandchildren, Angela (Brenden), Kaela (Adam), Ariana (Tyler), Connor, Madison, Kaleb, and many adopted with love as an extension of his family along with his great-grandchildren Sydney and Hailey. His sister, Patricia A Fitzgerald, of Waltham, Massachusetts, and many nieces and nephews that he cherished. The family requests donations be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 a.m., Monday, January 29, 2024, at St. John La Lande Church. Family will receive friends from 10:00 until service time. A light lunch will be served in the church’s reception room. Tony will be laid to rest at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St Louis, Missouri, with full military honors 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
