Norma Lola Bracchitta, of Yonkers, died on April 22nd 2023, at age 92. Born May 7, 1930 in Yonkers to Emilio and Marietta Silvestri of Scurcola Marsicana, Italy. She attended local schools including Commerce High School. Norma enjoyed work as a telephone operator until she married Joseph F. Bracchitta Sr. of Tarrytown, NY. They moved to Palisade Avenue, Yonkers and together raised five children, all of whom graduated from college. Norma was known for her faith, great joy she brought to all who knew her, love and compassion she showered on friends and family, toughness to withstand pain and the wonderful food she constantly and miraculously prepared. She loved to play cards and to gamble a little. She travelled extensively with her husband Joe, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was close with her Silvestri family in Italy. She coordinated and led bus tours for her senior's club to many destinations across the United States. And she volunteered for many years at the Cabrini of Westchester nursing home in Dobbs Ferry, NY. Her good humor and great cooking will be missed. She is survived by her loving children and spouses, Maria Pellegrino and Frank Pellegrino (deceased), Patricia (Burke) Bracchitta, John Bracchitta and Elizabeth (Barrett) Bracchitta, and David Bracchitta. She was predeceased by her sons Robert Bracchitta of Yonkers and Joseph Bracchitta Jr. of Stamford CT, her brothers Angelo and Alvino Silvestri, and her sister Gloria Mangione. She is survived by her grandchildren and their spouses Jeffrey and Kristi (Ferraro) Bracchitta, Robert Bracchitta, Jennifer (Pellegrino) and Greg McClellan, Matthew Pellegrino, Paul Bracchitta and James Bracchitta, and great grandchildren William, Ryan, Nicholas, Christopher, Jeffrey Jr. , Lilly and Thomas. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Tuesday 4-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Christ the King Church on Wednesday April 26th at 10am. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
