Age - 85
November 30, 2023
Lois Gwendolyn Medley, daughter of Estel Lee and Dorothy Albertha Vizard Harlow, was born April 11, 1938, in Rock Island, Illinois and departed this life November 28, 2023, in Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years. Lois made a profession of faith early in life and lived her life accordingly. She was a longtime, active and faithful member of Stoutland Baptist Church. She loved her church family, as they did her. She enjoyed church functions and fellowship and treasured their continued prayers over the years. On December 29, 1961, Lois was united in marriage with the love of her life, or as she referred to him, "Mr. Wonderful," Richard Lee Medley. Together they shared thirty-eight years of laughter and memories, while raising their two daughters, Susan and Kathy. Richard preceded her in death on April 11, 2000. Although her top priority was tending to the needs of her family, Lois also worked outside her home. For many years she was the Chief Deputy Clerk for the Camden County Circuit Clerk's office. She earned much deserved respect for her knowledge and attention to detail. When she wasn't working, Lois was an avid reader. However, moments spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, is what she treasured most. Lois is survived by two daughters, Susan Medley of Stoutland, MO and Kathy Moats and her husband David of Bentonville, AR; three grandchildren, Joshua and Jeremy Deleski and Dyllan Moats; siblings and their spouses, Glenda and Gary Lange, Beth and Don Gilbraith, John Harlow, Doris Harlow, Mike and Patricia Harlow, Susan and Butch Parker and Bill Harlow; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron and Judith Medley, Don Medley and Marilyn Medley; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews; other relatives; church family and many friends. Those preceding her in death include her parents, Estel and Dorothy Harlow; her in-laws, Lester and Velva Medley; her husband, Richard Lee Medley "Mr. Wonderful"; other relatives, Nancy Harlow, Roy Parker, Rhonda Black, Virginia Budd, Catherine Medley and Darlene Medley. Lois was a loving wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed, but what a blessing to know we have the promise of Heaven and a great reunion one day. Celebration of life service for Lois will be Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 10:00 A. M. , at Stoutland Baptist Church. Private burial will be at a later date at Stoutland Cemetery. Memorials have been suggested to Stoutland Baptist Church or Lake Regional Hospital. Donations can be left at or mailed to Shadel's Colonial Chapel1001 N. Lynn or P. O.
