Christopher “Hammy” Hamm, 41, born in Vancouver, WA on May 8, 1982 and died on Saturday, February 10, 2024. While attending Mount Joy High School in Pennsylvania, Chris also attended LCCTC/Mount Joy, PA where he received a culinary arts/chef certification in 2000. He also attended Johnson & Wales in Norfolk, VA and received a culinary arts degree in 2002. Chris worked in the restaurant industry for 22 years where he cultivated many life-long friendships. He spent 12 years working in Seattle at Tom Douglas & Company - Etta’s, Seatown & Rub Shack, Cuoco and Dahlia Lounge. He then moved to New Orleans and worked for 5 years at Coquette and LeBlanc + Smith - Cavan, Anna’s and Sylvain. While working at Sylvain, Chris was selected for Starchefs New Orleans Rising Star Restaurant Week. He also worked at Harrah’s New Orleans for the past year. Chris is survived by his parents, Charlene Verne (momma), Steven Verne (step-dad), Michael Hamm (father) and Kathy Hamm (step-mother). Grandparents, Daniel and Lorraine Fernandez (deceased), Elizabeth Hamm (deceased). Canine siblings, Wyatt, Doc, Cody, Bandit, Annie and Holly. Unks and aunties, Shirley and David Ariz, Steven (deceased) and Mary Fernandez, Kenny and Blanch Fernandez, Lisa (deceased) and Jay Leopold, Brian and Cel Fernandez, Keith and Kathleen Fernandez. Cousins, Lauren and Mike, Kristen and Mike, Ericka and Craig, Upu and Matt, Jantzen and Sharon, Kamalani, Kuuipo and Travis, Jared and Ashley, Christian, Daniel, Keilani and Rudy and 12 baby cousins. A Celebration of Chris’ Life will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at The Rambler, 507 Frenchman Street, New Orleans, from 3:00-10:00pm. Please come wearing your favorite team jersey or hat. Janice Benjamin passed away on February 19, 2024; she was born on December 24, 1958, to the late Henry and Grace Benjamin. Janice leaves to cherish her memory, her son–Anson Jarvis Benjamin; siblings–Samuel Benjamin, Bernice Riggins, Artnase McClain, and Stirling, Leslie, Solomon, Henry, Condell, and Donna Marie Benjamin; and a host of relatives and friends. Janice was preceded in death by her parents–Henry and Grace Benjamin, and her siblings–Lloyd, Alonzo “Mickey”, and Patricia Benjamin. , passed away in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 19, 2024. Glynn was born on September 17, 1943, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Nacin Lionel Acy Sr. And Virgil Chauvin Acy. Glynn leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law, Gayle, and Michael Zibilich; his granddaughter, Julia Loretta Acy; Grandson, Glynn Patrick III; Granddaughter Erin Acy Ramos; great grandson, Phillip Jordan Ramos Jr; and godson, John Polk. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Martha; his children, Glynn Patrick Acy Jr. And Kristy Acy Bourg; and nephew, Michael Keller Zibilich. After Graduating from L.E. Robouin High School in New Orleans, Glynn joined the Louisiana Army National Guard at Jackson Barracks, and served honorably for six years of active and reserve duty-often deployed during hurricanes that impacted the Louisiana Gulf Coast. Always interested in truck and automobile mechanics Glynn worked for Lamar Advertising, servicing their fleet of vehicles. After losing his home during Hurricane Katrina Glynn moved his family to the Northshore where he continued working for a private developer. He possessed a keen interest in computers and loved listening to 50s music with his adored wife, Martha. Most importantly he loved his family and friends and will be missed by all.

Christopher Matthew Morel

Christopher Matthew Morel passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 24, 2024. Christopher is the son of Matthew and Amy Lipscomb Morel, the brother of Jeanne “Gigi” and Mattie Camille Morel, the grandson of the late Jerry and Shirley Lipscomb and the late James Morel and the late Paula Morel. Christopher attended St. Pius X Catholic School, Christian Brothers School, Jesuit High School, and was a senior at Loyola University. After suffering a spinal cord injury in 2018, Christopher proved to be a fierce, determined fighter. He continued to persevere tirelessly and work hard to achieve his goals. He received physical and occupational therapy at TIRR in Houston, Neurofit in Ft. Lauderdale, Touro Rehabilitation Hospital, Riverbend Physical Therapy, and Split Second Foundation. He exceeded expectations and went on to pursue an independent life. Christopher planned to continue his education post college to help others who suffered life changing injuries. His dedication to his own recovery was a catalyst to his decision to dedicate his postgraduate studies to provide support to others. Following his most recent illness in July of 2023, Christopher fought hard and persevered surrounded by family, good friends, and the exceptional care of the incredible staff at Ochsner LTAC. Christopher will be remembered for his resilient strength, quick wit, effortless banter, love of sports, passion for music, and his innate intellect. He was loved by all and his legacy will not be forgotten. Christopher leaves behind his parents, sisters, loving aunts and uncles, 23 cousins, and devoted friends. The family would like to thank his extended family who visited, stayed with, and loved Christopher throughout his life and illness. The friends who will stand by Christopher as he is laid to rest deserve special thanks for consistently visiting, supporting and entertaining him for the last seven months. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Scott Gibson, The McClure family, Nadia Haik, Jean Lipscomb Paciera, and the St. Pius X Community. Services will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at St. Pius X Church, 6666 Spanish Fort Blvd, New Orleans,La. Pawpaw of Aden James Richard and Stiles Anthony Richard. Brother to Tammy Richard Kass (the late Ronald, Sr.), Shawn Richard (Arlette), George Richard (Dawn) and the late Allison Richard. Nephew of Carolyn Miceli and Joycelyn “Tee” Albert. Godfather of Stephanie Kass. Uncle of Ronald Kass, Jr. (Mindy), Evan Richard, Caden Richard, and Shane Richard (Lauren). Son of the late Charles Glen Richard, Sr. and the late Joy Ann Tierney Richard. Survived by a host of cousins and loving friends. Glen was born and raised in Algiers, LA. He graduated from Archbishop Shaw High School in 1981. Immediately following, he trained at Harry Lundeberg School of Seamanship in Piney Point, MD where he graduated in 1982.
