Nelvina Sybesma Obituary

Nelvina Sybesma: May 20, 1931--- May 01, 2023 With bittersweet hearts, it is announced that Nelvina Sybesma of Ontario, California has passed away, softly and peacefully in her sleep, from her earthly home into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Monday May 01, 2023, just 19 days shy of her 92nd birthday. Nelvina was born on May 20, 1931 in Edgerton Minnesota to parents, John, Sr. and Lyda Van Essen. On September 15, 1950, she married the one and only true love of her life, Marion John Sybesma. They were happily married for 36 years until Marion's passing in 1987. They were charter members of the First Christian Reformed Church of Chino and were very involved in ministries there. Nelvina enjoyed a very rewarding 28-year career as the financial book-keeper for Ontario Christian Schools. She was a generous supporter of multiple Christian organizations, such as Providence College, Salem Christian Homes, Ontario Christian School, Three Way Thrift and many others. Nelvina was always on the go, filling her life with friends, games, travels, baking, gardening, needlework, puzzles and cultural arts. She is survived by her sister, Greta Huizenga of Pomona; a brother, John Van Essen and his wife, Helen of Bellflower; numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many dear friends. She was lovingly cared for and will be forever missed by her beloved, adoring children, Kenneth and Sharon and Jim Ernsberger, all of Ontario. Psalm 73:26-My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
