Nellie Stamper Obituary

Nellie Walls Stamper, 88, of North Wilkesboro, went to her heavenly home surrounded by her family on May 8th, 2023 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist - Wilkes Medical Center. Nellie was born on October 15th, 1934, to Nannie and Tary Walls. Nellie was a member of Mountain Valley Baptist Church. Nellie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking, and taking care of others. Nellie is preceded in death by her son, Terry Still; parents, Nannie and Tary Walls; and siblings, Maggie (Peggy) Stamper, Attie Marie Walls Southern, Ledford Walls, Arnie Walls, Claude Walls, Arthur Cliff Walls, Grady Walls, and Guy Walls. Nellie is survived by her spouse, Ray Stamper, of North Wilkesboro; step-daughter, Kathy Stamper Bell; grandchildren, Sarah Still, Jason and Brittany Stamper, Kristopher and Bartie Bell; great grandchildren, Harlie Hylton and Blake Pike, Kaila and Bradley Hancock, Chasity Stamper, Taylor Stamper, Kenny Stamper, and Mason Bell; great-great grandchildren, Russell, Oden, and Madeline Hancock. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p. m. Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Miller Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ronnie McManus officiating. Entombment will follow in Mountlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 1:00 until 2:00 p. m. on Thursday, prior to the service. The family has requested no food. Flowers will be accepted.
