"Goldie (Trudy) Gertrude Piotrzkowski 91, died on February 17, 2024, after a brief illness at her daughter’s home in Mebane, NC. She was born on October 8, 1932, to Ruby and William Eisele in E. St. Louis, Ill where she grown up. On May 10, 1952, she married Leonard Raymond, and they had 45 wonderful years together before Leonard died in 1997. Trudy was very active in the communities where she lived to include being a Girl Scout Leader and Manager of Glauber’s Meat Market while living in Illinois. While living in Indiana she also managed the Lemon Tree Clothing Shop and an Ace Hardware Store. Trudy also served as the President of the American Businesswoman’s Association in Indianapolis. Then with her husband Leonard, they managed the Olivewood and Meadowood Apartments in Indianapolis, IN. \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; Trudy loved painting, flower arrangements, scrap booking, bowling, loving her Brittanys, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her last few years Trudy lived in North Carolina with her oldest daughter and enjoyed the country life. \u0026nbsp; She is survived by her six children, Leonard R. Jr., Timothy J., Bobbie (Laurene) Sigmund and her fiance Mo Pollard, Rick A. (Richard) and his wife Anne, Terri (Therese) and her husband Forrest Bailey, and Brian J. and his wife Libby Piotrzkowski. Mebane, Patricia Geraldine Clayton Glenn, 77 of Mebane passed away peacefully at home on February 14, 2024. Patricia was born in Person County on October 10, 1946 a daughter of the late Richard Clayton and Sarah "Louise" Ashley Clayton. She was a 1965 graduate of Eastern Alamance High School and then went on to graduate from ACC with a degree in Nursing. She was employed at Alamance County Hospital, Alamance Regional Medical Center and also, Dr. Aycock and Dr. Mebane before finally retiring from Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance Caswell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Larry Glenn. Patricia is survived by her daughter Lisa Glenn. No formal services are planned at this time. Ingeborg H. Warschkow, 91, formerly of Graham passed away at Compass Healthcare & Rehab in Mebane on Sunday, February 11, 2024. A native of Durrweitzschen, Sachsen, Germany, she was the wife of the late Fritz Heinrich Warschkow and the daughter of Kurt Hansel and Lina Kunze Hansel, both deceased. She was a formerly employed with F. W. Machine & Tool Company as the secretary and was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church. Survivors include a daughter, Heidi W. Scott and husband Ralph Scott, III; daughter-in-law, Donna Warschkow of Burlington; brother, Wolfgang Hansel of Liesoig, Sachsen, Germany; four grandchildren, Ryan Scott, Megan Scott, Chelsie Long, and Hayley Sutton; and two step-grandchildren, Mandi Holyfield and Stacie McNeal. She was preceded in death by a son, Philip Fritz Warschkow. The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. Jerome Cloninger officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:45 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. Mr. James “Jimmy” Douglas Foust

Mr. James “Jimmy” Douglas Foust, 84, of Mebane passed away Monday, February 5, 2024 at 4:25 p.m. A native of Orange County, he was the son of Robert Lee Foust and Mary Wood Foust, both deceased. Jimmy was a graduate of Chapel Hill High School, where he played baseball as a first baseman and helped lead his team to a 1957 championship in his senior year. He was also an active Future Farmers of America member, serving his junior year as President. He retired as a dairy farmer, but farming was always in his blood. He loved working with his brother Shorty every day on the farm, chopping silage, and mowing hay with his International 5088. He enjoyed reading farming magazines, watching his Westerns with Forrest, Levi, and Ella Grace every evening, and reminiscing about his adventures over the years. Sundays visiting with Billy Blackwood were another highlight of his week over the last few years. He was a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Thomas “Shorty” Foust and his parents. He is survived by his “adopted” family, Forrest Blackwood and his wife Jennifer of Mebane, and their children, Ella Grace and Levi. A funeral service will be conducted at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 3:00 pm. with the family receiving friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Forrest Blackwood and family would like to extend a special thanks to Nicole of Amedisys Hospice for her diligent care for Jimmy in his last days.

Bolton and Loraine (Poythress) Bolton. She lived in Warren County her entire life.Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband, James Nicholas Harper II, and six of her siblings.**Services will be announced when finalized on Monday, January 29th.She is survived by her sister, Anne Frye of Fuquay-Varina; her three children: Angela Harper Jarvies (Gregg) of Hillsborough, NC, Nick Harper (Frances) of Manson, NC and Lynn Dale Harper of Norlina, NC; and four grandchildren: Laura Jarvies, Kevin Jarvies (Kim), David Harper and Nicholous Harper.Rebecca worked for many years as a seamstress for local manufacturers, and after her retirement enjoyed meeting her many friends when working at delis of local supermarkets. She loved the outdoors and spent many hours cultivating flowers and fruit trees in her yard. She also excelled at making delicious fruit preserves.The family would like to thank the care givers at Mebane Ridge Memory Care Unit for the professional and loving care they provided to Rebecca for the past fourteen months. A special thanks to the medical and support staff of Hospice of Alamance County, who provided outstanding palliative and end-of-life care to Rebecca as well as much needed emotional support to her family.In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Alamance County, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.Arrangements are by Blaylock Funeral Home in Warrenton.

Lee Sowder, of Mebane, NC passed away peacefully on January 19, 2024 surrounded by his family at the age of 87 years old. Lee is survived by his wife Donna, his sister Pat Lewis of Ross, OH, niece Michelle Fehring of Colerain, OH and his children; Greg Sowder of Cincinnati OH, Tim Sowder and wife Colleen of Goffstown NH, Randy Sowder and spouse Kean of San Francisco, CA, his grandson Blake Sowder, wife Megan and great grandson Landon Sowder of Dunbarton, NH and granddaughter Makenzy Sowder of Merrimack, NH. Lee was born November 7, 1936 in Cincinnati, OH. He graduated from Miami University of Ohio in 1960 with a degree in Industrial Design. As a proud football player for Sycamore High School and Miami University, he was recruited by Ara Paerseghian in 1956. In ‘2013, Lee was voted into the Sycamore High School Athletic Hall of Fame. His professional career spanned several decades in Advertising, as Design Mgr. for Formica Corp. and prior to retiring, as Director of the GenCorp Design Center in Salem, NH. As a competitor, he enjoyed golf and has the trophies to prove it! Lee was also a prolific artist working in the mediums of oil, acrylic, and watercolor. Most fulfilling was the 20 years delivering hundreds of meals for “Meals on Wheels” in the community. Condolences may be expressed on the Walker Funeral Home website. Phyllis Bomberger, 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior January 18 at Compass Healthcare in Mebane, NC. Her family is extremely grateful for the loving care she received from the medical staff and associates. Phyllis was born in Somerset, Pennsylvania to the late Frank and Nellie Menhorn. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Philip Bomberger; sister, Dorothy Menhorn; brothers Earl Menhorn, Paul and Bud. Phyllis was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved having friends and family gather in her home and always made everyone feel welcome. She was a wonderful hostess and loved to prepare meals for all occasions. Additionally, she was an accomplished seamstress, and created exquisite needlework. Phyllis was very active in church activities and supported her husband, Philip, who served as the Senior Minister at Ireland Street Chapel and Grace Bible Fellowship in Burlington, NC. She never met a stranger and treasured helping others and creating new relationships along the way. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Kelly and husband, Woody; son, Paul Bomberger and his wife, Jan; grandchildren, Phillip Crabtree, Rebecca Sigmon and husband Daniel, and Michael Bomberger and wife Nicole. She is survived by 5 great grandchildren, Charlotte, Nora and Owen Sigmon and Mackenna and Lainey Bomberger. She is also survived by her niece, Laura Kelly and husband, Woody. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service. The committal services will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
