John Alexoudis

John Alexoudis

Age - 61

November 26, 2023

"It is with immeasurable love, sadness, and just a dash of tears that we announce the dimsissing of John Alexoudis. Now, you might be wondering about the lofty vocabulary and comedic tone here. But to truly understand it, you'll have to buckle up and join us on a whimsical journey through John's exceptionally eclectic life - An adventure just as diverse and engaging as John himself. He sprang into life on the 9th of January, 1962, in Athens, Greece, but found himself grabbing his last ouzo in New Jersey, one cold November day in 2023. When you pack the life rockets of an electrical engineer, professional house renovator, pool boy-extraordinaire, and a self-professed alien enthusiast in one modest box of dynamite, it's bound to descend into an explosive laughter-filled send-off. John's parents, Evangelos and Nepantzia, offer a vibrant palette that painted the charming, Greek-loving, multi-lingual man we loved. Our beloved engineering whizz spent longer than most people could bear to be in school, studying Engineering at Widener University. These unfortunate educational misgivings at least paved the way for an impressive 40-year career split between Fort Monmouth U. S. Army and Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. To quote Bill Murray, "On vacation. You send postcards to people you don't know. " John truly embodied this philosophy working dutifully for the Puerto Rican Tourism Board. Yes, you heard that right. John Alexoudis: an honorary Puerto Rican, pool boy, and house flipper. He would invite everyone over to his newly renovated homes for outdoor pool parties. While the guests thought it was for merriment, John used the occasion to flaunt his newly installed electrical wirings. Oh, and the honorary Puerto Rican title? Let's just say it's no small achievement for a guy who could out dance any salsa master at a drop of a sombrero. Despite his mounting list of accolades, John still found time to show his three loves: his wife Milagros, his daughter Ariadne, and son Evan. Not to forget, Tyler Lesko, who had the privilege of marrying into this joyously mad family, and the two fur-babies, Yammy and Pecan, who were just as part of the family as anyone else. In a bizarre yet entirely predictable turn of events, John's interests ranged from being an avid fisherman, an absolute car nut, a relatively decent cook, to being a fanatic of everything extra-terrestrial. He was so much more than the Eagles' number one fan or the loudest cheerer at AEK soccer matches - He was a man whose interests were as diverse as an exotic fruit platter. Witty, lovable, and undeniably brilliant, John Alexoudis was the personification of the Greek embodiment of 'kefi' - the joy of living. His infectious laughter and quirky sense of humor brightened the lives of everyone who had the good fortune of knowing him. John Alexoudis' name will go down as a legend - a man who could wire up your house, fix your pool, and then grill you the most excellent souvlaki, all while debating about interstellar politics. We'll be telling and re-telling his tales through many generations, because, how do you forget a character like that? And remember, in the wise words of Whoopi Goldberg, "We're here for a reason. I believe that reason is to throw little torches out to lead people through the dark. " For everyone that knew him, John was that light. Dear John, your time has ended on this plane of existence but you have fueled a universe of memories and laughter. As an alien enthusiast, may you find solace among the stars and new projects in the intergalactic realm. We'll forever miss your unique character, yet laughter shall ever prevail when evoking your name. "Show more
