Summerville, GA
Natalie Ann (Wilson) Cash was born on September 28, 1965, to parents Johnny Rex and Sue Wilson. She went to Skyline elementary school in kindergarten. When she was 6, she moved to a farm with her parents in Everton and attended Valley Springs where she graduated in 1983. During her time at Valley Springs Natalie played volleyball, was on the cheer team, ran track, was on the homecoming court, and made many life-long friends. She was an all-district volleyball player and continued her volleyball career at Hendrix where she played all four years for coach Earlene Hannah. Natalie graduated from Hendrix in 1987 with a degree in English education. Natalie taught at several schools in Arkansas including Morrilton, Bergman, Prairie Grove, and her beloved Alma Mater Valley Springs. While teaching at Bergman, Natalie met the love of her life, Mitch Cash, on a blind date. The couple married in 1992 and then moved to Fayetteville where Natalie earned a master's degree in educational technology. The pair then moved back to the Harrison area to start their family. They spent 26 wonderful years together on the Cash family farm in Pindall, raising their three children and a variety of pets. Natalie is remembered by her parents as being a sweet little girl who loved participating in sports, watching the Razorbacks, singing, playing the piano, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Some of the hobbies Natalie added to her life as an adult were being an avid fan of The Andy Griffith Show, traveling, and riding her side-by-side around the farm. As a teacher Natalie dedicated time every summer to familiarizing herself with the children coming into her classroom because she deeply cared about their individual success. Natalie passionately served her church, The First Baptist Church of Valley Springs, in a myriad of roles throughout the years including Vacation Bible School coordinator, participating in mission trips, and directing the women's ministry. Natalie maintained tight-knit relationships with much of her extended family and always looked forward to family gatherings. She especially enjoyed times when her Aunt Nancy- a gifted storyteller- would tell stories about growing up in Rock Springs. In 2021 she was thrilled to become a "Nana" and soaked up every minute she could with her three grandchildren. Natalie was fully engaged and present at every moment in her life and is remembered by all who knew her as an exceptional and compassionate listener. She desired to connect deeply with those around her and faithfully worked to make that desire a reality. Natalie would credit these qualities to her profound faith in Jesus which never wavered, even as her body was slowly succumbing to the lung condition PPFE. Natalie's spirit was unburdened from her body on October 3, 2023, surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents James and Ova Phifer, her paternal grandparents John and Irene Wilson, her cousin Neici (Sharp) Woolston, and her brother-in-law Mike Johnson. She is survived by her husband Mitch Cash, her children; Olivia Cash, Isaiah Cash and his wife Jessica, Ian Cash and his wife Courtney, her three grandchildren Wilson and Stetson Cash, and Alison Cash, her parents Johnny Rex and Sue Wilson, her sister Shellie Johnson, her brother David Wilson and his wife Serena, her nieces and nephews, and countless other family members and friends. The love Natalie has for those in her life continues to live on in everyone she loves. A celebration of
