Nancy L. (Winck) Zimmerman, 83 of Everett passed away Friday September 8, 2023 at her home peacefully in her sleep Mrs. Zimmerman was born in Everett on Thursday October 5, 1939, the daughter of the late Ira and Edna (Feight) Winck. On January 9, 1960 she married William B. Zimmerman in Winchester, VA. She is survived by her husband and daughter Robin Swindell and husband Boyde of Everett. She is also survived by two grandchildren Ashley Sawyer and husband Mike of Everett and Bradley Swindell and wife Vanessa of Everett; grandchildren Gracie, Andrew, and Aaron Sawyer; Luna and Grayson Swindell. She was preceded in death by two brothers Frank and Ellis Winck and three sisters Dorothy Calhoun, Jean Suter, and Cleda Mae Turner. Nancy was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1957. She always looked forward to attending her monthly class breakfast. Nancy was a member of the Everett Zion Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker after she retired from Bedford Rural Electric in 2004. She also worked many years at the family business, Zimmerman's Hardware & Supply. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Bedford Springs # 41. She enjoyed music and playing the piano, taking rides out to her family home place, and family vacations. Nancy was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother that will be greatly missed. Her happiest moments were spent with her family. Grover K. Mills, 92, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Colonial Courtyard surrounded by his family. He was born on August 30, 1931 in Monroe Township, a son of the late Reid and Belle (Miller) Mills. He is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years, Roxanna (Cornell) Mills, whom he was united in marriage to on August 27, 1954 in Winchester, VA. Along with his wife, he is survived by three daughters Karla Levy married to Jim, Karen Glah married to Jim and Rhonda Barkman formerly married to Tom. He was such a proud "pap" of his five grandchildren Jim Levy married to Becky, Josh Levy married to Jackie, Jarod Bowers married to Marissa, Cole Barkman married to Amber and Rachel Gibbons married to Brian; and he was affectionately known as "Pappy Grover" to his seven great grandchildren Millie, Lyla, Kenzie, Colin and Grant Levy, Maximus Barkman and Audrey Gibbons. He is also survived by siblings Marjorie Robinette, Lulabelle Ramsey, Alton Mills and brother-in-law Lynn Cornell. He was preceded in death by brother Teo Mills, brothers-in-law Theodore Ramsey and Junior Robinette and sisters-in-law Linda Mills and Lurain Cornell. Grover was employed with Bedford County Oil for thirty-eight years as a truck driver. He was a member of the First Christian Church and the Chapmans Run Hunting Club. He enjoyed hunting when he was younger; traveling with "mom", and woodworking, but his greatest enjoyment came from being with his family. He will forever be loved and missed for his kindness, gentleness, thoughtfulness and that "laugh". He was always more concerned with others than himself. A special thank you - first to the staff of Victoria House at Spring House Estates and the staff in the memory care unit at Colonial Courtyard. James Raymond Blackstone, 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by those he loved most. He was known for his great sense of humor and words of wisdom. He would befriend anyone he met. He married Debra Ann (Foor) on May 6, 1982. They had three children Adam, Aerin and Daniel. He had four grandchildren Alex, Katana, Abel and Gauge. He had many special nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He had a special great niece Aleah, his "Aleah Pet" that helped take excellent care of him along with his sister-in-law Dotty. He is also survived by four siblings Steve (Cindy) Blackstone, Tammy (Steven) Hoover, Samuel (Debbie) Blackstone and Melody (William) Harris all whom he shared a great bond with. He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel J. and Freeda E. (Poland) Blackstone and a niece Robin. Jim dedicated his life to Christ on August 13, 2023. He is so loved and will be missed dearly. Henry George Hall, III, 60, of Piper Hill Road, Hopewell, PA; passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at home doing what he loved farming. He was born on August 10, 1963 in Hopewell, PA; a son of the late Henry George Hall Jr. and Anna Marie (Garman) Hall. On November 23, 2011 in Hopewell, PA; he was united in marriage to Darlene A. (Pittman) Hall. Along with his wife, he is survived by children Kody L. Hall married to Robin, Lancaster, PA; Keyan M. Hall married to Brittany, Martinsburg, PA; Kaila D. Grimes married to Levi, Everett, PA and Henry K. Hall married to Dedra, Woodbury, PA; sixteen grandchildren; siblings Todd Hall married to Carrie, Gina Boor married to Doug and Tina Suess. He was a graduate of Northern Bedford High School Class of 1981. He owned and operated He-An-Ha Farm. Henry loved being a dairy farmer; his farm was a supplier for Land O'Lakes. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and trips out west hunting. He was a supporter of the Elk foundation. Harry David Helsel, age 96, former resident of Wells Tannery passed away Sunday, November 19, at The Village of Morrisons Cove where he has resided the past five years. Harry was born in Wells Township on February 24, 1927, the son of the late Harry and Eva Lowery Barton Helsel. He is survived by his wife of 78 years, Mary E. Parlier Helsel, whom he married on August 5, 1945, in Hustontown, PA. He is also survived by a daughter and three sons: Rena Ritchey and her husband Delbert of Stewartstown; Joseph and his wife Trudy of Wells Tannery; Byron and his wife Janis of Wells Tannery; and David and his wife Beth of Richland, PA. In addition, Harry is survived by nine grandchildren, one step-granddaughter: sixteen great grandchildren, and one great step-granddaughter. Harry was preceded in death by all of his siblings, brother George, stepbrothers Walter and Roy Barton and sisters: Elda Siler, Vesta Marquart, Alice Hann, and Lelia Decker. In 1944, Harry graduated from Robert Smith High School. Following graduation, he became a power shovel operator at local coal mines. In 1945 he was inducted into the U. S. Army and was stationed in occupied Germany from February 1946 to December 1946 serving in close proximity to the Nuremberg Trials. For his service to his country, he was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Following his military service, Harry spent his working career operating heavy equipment. During his later working years, he mainly operated cranes, building pipelines, dams, and bridges. After retiring in 1989, Harry enjoyed working in his metal shop. With his welding skills he was able to fabricate and repair many items (including farm implements, furniture, log splitters, along with inside and outside wood stoves). He was also called upon by neighbors to do digging with his Kubota backhoe or to "smell" for water when people would be drilling wells. Harry also used his retirement years to travel with various family members. His travels included trips with Mary to Nashville, Dollywood, Graceland, and on to Texas to visit a grandson. Other trips to visit family took them to New England and the Boston area and New Jersey. He and Mary especially liked to go camping with their son and daughter-in-law at Frontier Town in Ocean City, MD. Other family members joined them at the campground to help create cherished memories. Another favorite pastime for Harry was taking Mary out to eat at various restaurants. They did this several times a week before Harry had to give up driving. They would usually go in his Ford pickup. Harry was a Ford man most his life. Harry was a member of the American Legion and the International Union of Operating Engineers for over fifty years. A public funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday December 2 at the Presbyterian Church in Wells Tannery. The funeral will be followed by interment at the Presbyterian cemetery in Wells Valley. Corrin Wilbur Colledge, 86, of Breezewood, PA; passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital. He was born on March 4, 1937 in East Providence Township; a son of the late Grant Elton and Myrtle Beatrice (Winters) Colledge. On June 25, 1963 he was united in marriage to Sharon LaVerne (Brantner) Colledge. Along with his wife of sixty years, he is survived by children Kelly Cooke (Joe Bracken) St. Inigoes, MD, Stacey Colledge, Waldorf, MD, Andrew Colledge (Sharon) Breezewood, PA; grandchildren Brittany Cooke, Joey Bracken, Samantha Bracken, Kathryn and Billy Whalen, Krista Hinish (Caleb), Brandi Colledge, Tom Colledge (Nicole), Joe Welch (Kelly); great grandchildren Kyle Nelson Jr. , Peyton Murphy, Harper, Reagen and Emerson Hope Hinish (Emerson is due in January 2024), Lincoln and Laura Burkholder, Marceles, Aubrielle and Axen Welch; siblings Arlin Colledge (Lena) Breaux Bridge, LA, Jean Christopher (Ron) Beverly Hills, FL, Robert College(Donna) Everett, PA; several nieces and nephews and his "Adopted" family - Don, Kathy, Zach, Aaron, Eli Claycomb and family. He was preceded in death by daughter Terri Colledge, granddaughter Logan Rathburn, grandsons Kevin Cooke and Josh Claycomb; siblings Doris Foor, Gerald Colledge, Myrna Cogan, Patricia Lobb and Nyle Vincent Colledge. Corrin attended Everett Area High School. He loved hunting and fishing, playing cards at family reunions, and singing in the choir. He loved his family. The babies always had a special place in his heart. On Sunday afternoons he loved listening to the radio whether it was the NASCAR races with Mark Martin as his favorite driver or listening to the Pittsburgh Steelers football or Pirates baseball. Mr. Colledge was a lifelong farmer on the farm where he was born & raised. He also worked as a mechanic at Gateway Truck Stop prior to retiring from driving tractor trailer for Wal-Mart. He was a member of the Rays Cove Christian Church and had 21 years of perfect attendance. Dr. Jeffrey L. Foor, 73, of Clearville, PA, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, at his home. He was born on Sept. 9, 1950, in Clearville; a son of the late Elmer "Jim" W. Foor, Jr. , and Helen V. (Hershberger) Foor. On June 19, 1976, he was united in marriage to Linda (Sollenberger) Foor. Along with his wife, he is survived by a son, Ian Foor, married to Amy (Potchak), and a daughter, Natalie (Foor) Kaar (married to Matt); grandchildren Alina, Maddie, Nick, Izzy and Gwen. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jill Ann (Foor) Hartle; and brothers, Dr. James R. Foor and Dr. Jody S. Foor. Jeff was a graduate and president of the Everett High School Class of 1968, graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1972 and graduated from University of Pittsburgh Medical School in 1976. After graduation, he completed his medical residency at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA, where he served in the Navy as a Lt. Commander for six years. Moving back to Bedford County in 1982, Jeff established his private pediatric practice in Everett, where he enjoyed working alongside Linda until his retirement in July 2017. Soon after retiring, he unretired and joined Pediatric Care Specialists on a part-time basis for several years. Jeff was a member of The First Christian Church of Everett, where he played organ for many years. Jeff loved playing the piano and organ, and adored taking care of babies and children. He lived for annual beach trips to the Grand Strand with the whole family year after year and was always anxious to head West with Linda come winter. He will forever be missed for his eternal optimism, thoughtfulness, kindness, gentleness and compassion. Jeff had an unmatched power to make everything feel better in even the toughest of times. Fred J. Heath, 83, of Saxton, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. Born in Newberg on March 12, 1940, a son of the late Fred D. and Mary Heath. He was united in marriage to Patricia (Fessler) Heath on May 7, 1966. Mrs. Heath survives at their home. He was a 1959 graduate of Robertsdale High School and then served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Era as a SP4 E4, and later worked for the Laborer's Union Local #910. Along with his wife, he is survived by sons, Fred Heath, husband of Rachel, Stan Heath, husband of Justine, step-son, John Larocca, husband of Sharon, grandchildren, Lauren Larocca, Johnny Larocca, Summer Heath, Stan Patrick Heath, Kristen Harshbarger, and 4 great grandchildren, brother, Brian Heath, and brother-in-law, Woodrow Ash He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Sue Anne Ash, a son, Frankie Heaton, and a granddaughter, Heather Heaton. During his life he enjoyed fishing, hunting, hunting for mushrooms and ginseng, making wine, and feeding the birds and squirrels. It is with great sadness to announce that David E. Figard of Saxton, PA, passed away peacefully at 68 years old on October 23, 2023 at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center after a courageous three year battle with cancer. Dave was the son of the late Clinton & Pearle (Corrie) Figard of Riddlesburg, PA. He was a brother to six siblings, the late Jim Figard, the late Kaye Figard, and surviving siblings Matt Figard, Harrisburg, PA; Andy Figard, Saxton, PA; Gladie Biedenbach, Lewistown, PA; and Sam Figard, Falling Springs, WV. He was a loving companion of 30 years to Jayme A. Clark of Saxton. He was a proud father of two sons; Brent Figard married to Joni of California and Kyle Figard of Wisconsin, proud step father to Bill Clark married to Bobbi of Saxton & Kimberly married to Jody Sherlock of Wood, a loving grandfather to Kelsie Melius, Rebecca Sherlock, John Clark and Aubrey & Aiden Figard, and great grandfather to Landon, Lane & Norah. Dave proudly served in the United States Navy as a Machinist Mate on USS Bryce Canyon (AD-36) during the Vietnam Era from 1972-1975. He attended Lakeshore Technical College in Wisconsin before beginning a life-long career in trucking. He worked for various trucking companies until his illness worsened. Dave was a friend to many, as he has been to all 50 states. He loved his country, his family and his friends. He will always be remembered for his fun-loving personality, his jokes, his ability to talk to whoever was willing to listen, his love for anything with a motor, truck driving, animals, food, Harley Davidson and mostly, for his kind and generous heart. Joseph R. Houp, 72, of Raystown Road, Hopewell, PA; passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023. He was born on August 15, 1951 in Roaring Spring; a son of the late Donald E. and Betty J. (Imler) Houp. On August 17, 2000 in Hopewell, he was united in marriage to Janan (Zimmerman) Houp. Along with his wife, he is survived by son Brent Houp married to Kerri, Woodbury, PA; daughters Tisha married to David Donaldson, Hopewell, PA; Heather married to Brett Scott, Martinsburg, PA and Tera married to Zachary Conley, Hopewell, PA and seven grandchildren Christopher, Alexis, Kaylee, Caitlyn, Connor, Mya and Brayden; two sisters Shirley J. Hall, Frederick, MD and Peggy Teeter married to Clair, New Enterprise and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by infant daughter Kara Jo Houp and brother-in-law Dennis Hall. Joe graduated from Northern Bedford High School Class of 1969. He worked at Miller Auto in Woodbury out of school before starting his thirty-eight year career at New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company until his retirement. He enjoyed restoring old cars, riding motorcycles, hunting and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Ridge Runners Hunting Club. He was a member of Tatesville Community Church.
