Nancy Woodburn, born April 11, 1943 passed away peacefully and began her new adventure surrounded by family on April 30th, 2023. She was the mother of Louie (Bonnie) Hollmeyer, Anna (Mike) Dudick, and Elizabeth (Rick) Terrill. Nancy was also the cherished "Nini" of Jordan, Paige, and Buddy Hollmeyer, Parker, Alex, and the late Charlie Terrill, Michael, Sam, Chloe, and Henry Dudick, and the great-grandmother of Reed Hall. Survived by siblings Marsha (Alan) Wolpa, Ginny Aubrey, and Jamie (Mariann) Woodburn. Nancy was well known for her affinity for adventure and trips to extravagant and sometimes strange places, often with family or friends, or sometimes alone. For many years, she had a second home on the beach on Hilton Head Island, SC. Here she served as the family matriarch and host of many family vacations-too many to count. These vacations formed everlasting family bonds as new members of the family (through marriage) were welcomed by her with open arms and love. Sometimes children came along with those marriages, and those new children quickly became her own grandchildren, and her quaint beach house capable of sleeping 8 was housing 16. Known as one of the "most accepting people," this love exemplified her inclusiveness and penchant for welcoming and embracing others. Nancy was an accomplished woman and a proud graduate of Walnut Hills High School and Miami University (Mother Miami). She was incredibly proud that Buddy and Michael carried on the lineage. Nancy grew up and lived in Pleasant Ridge before moving to Mt. Adams. She taught English and Literature at Norwood High School for over 25 years. She often branched out and taught non-traditional topics, such as the Holocaust. Naturally, to prepare, she traveled to Europe to visit Holocaust memorials and museums. After visiting the Anne Frank Museum, she began teaching the Anne Frank Diary. Nancy was active in her local church, initially with Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church, and later in life with Christ Church Cathedral. Nancy was spiritual and a proud parishioner and volunteer of Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Cincinnati. Nancy loved that the church strongly connected faith and Christianity with the arts and children. She even performed in the church's annual holiday tradition, the Boar's Head & Yule Log Festival. She volunteered in many capacities for the church and around town and served as a guardian ad litem for ProKids. Nancy successfully battled many forms of cancer over the course of 25+ years. Yet, never did she stop adventuring, accepting, and loving. "Nini" lived for the last 30 years in Mt Adams and is often referred to by her family as the second most famous Cincinnatian next to Jerry Springer. She adored Mt. Adams and Cincinnati, particularly the arts and culture. Amongst many other things, she loved Hilton Head, the beach, Christmas cookies, any clothes that Anna or Liz were wearing, literature, her Kindle, The BonBonerie, schnecken, the Cincinnati Zoo, scarfs, Oktoberfest, homemade fudge, Findlay Market, peaches from the side of the road, The Connector Streetcar, Guiding Light, and "Joe Burrows. " As a royalist, she loved pageantry, pomp & circumstance, and not Meghan Markle. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a. m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Christ Church Cathedral in Cincinnati, OH, located at 318 E 4th St. , Cincinnati, OH 45202. In her spirit, the service will feature music and the Cathedral's spectacular organ. A reception will immediately follow at the Rooftop of the Marriott Residence Inn at The Phelps, 506 E. 4th Street (within walking distance of the Cathedral). In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Cincinnati in honor of Nancy Woodburn and grandson, Charlie Terrill.
