Nancy Ruth Vogelsang, 77 of Bolton Landing, NY passed away the morning of September 30th, 2023 after a 10 month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones at her happy place at Arbutus cottage in the Rainbow Beach Association. Nancy was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 5th, 1946. The daughter of William and Ruth Vogelsang, she graduated from Erasmus High School in Brooklyn in the Spring of 1963. From there, Nancy went on to attend Hartwick College and graduated with a degree in Mathematics in 1967, eventually obtaining an MBA from Sage College later on in life. She worked for IBM in the early 1970s until making the brave decision to open her own computer programming business in 1980, Systems Implementation Inc. After selling the business and retiring in 2008, Nancy continued to volunteer for the The Father Peter G. Young Foundation and her "boss" Margie Reilly raising money for all of their good works. Nancy enjoyed skiing, traveling, new experiences, but mostly she enjoyed her summers at Arbutus on Lake George. Her parents were one of the original owners when cottages first went for sale. It was love at first sight. She loved tennis with her father Bill, sailing, boating, and gathering at the beach with other community members. More recently she enjoyed watching Wimbledon and the U. S. Open on her screened porch that overlooks the lake, shoreline cruises with friends and loved ones on her boat, having children around her to keep her young at heart, playing card games, especially 3-13, and living life to the fullest with her best friend, Bette Rowse. You could find Bette and Nancy doing just about everything together including going to the theater to take in a show, sitting at a slot machine at any number of casinos up and down the east coast, playing backgammon, and everything in between. Nancy always loved bringing people together. She loved hosting friends at Arbutus, dinners at her home in East Greenbush, chaperoning children to amusement parks, and adventures with families and friends. She was often the link that connected everyone. Nancy is predeceased by her parents William and Ruth, her brother William, Jr, Aunt Fran Ford, and stepmother Trudy Vogelsang. She is survived by her dearest friend Bette Rowse, Bette's son's Barrett (Christine), Morgan (Jenn), and John, and their respective families. In addition, she leaves behind countless friends and their families that each would not hesitate to claim Nancy as their own. Included amongst those were the Spaulding/Hillard/Hoffman family, the Reynolds family, and many more. Too many to list, but you all know who you are and you know how much Nancy cared for each and every one of you. Per Nancy's wishes there will be no formal services. Instead, a Celebration of Life will be held in the summer of 2024 at her happy place of Rainbow Beach.
