Elaine J. Larson, died on February 18, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born May 5, 1930, in Jamestown, NY the daughter of the late John Arthur Larson and Gunborg Lindberg Larson. Elaine was a 1948 graduate of Jamestown High School and the Bryant & Stratton Business Institute of Buffalo, NY, in 1950. Elaine was a member of the American Scandinavian Heritage Foundation and the Salvation Army Home League and Senior Citizens. She was a member of Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church. Elaine enjoyed crocheting, reading biographies, crafting, and completing jigsaw puzzles in her later years. In her earlier years, she was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, and enjoyed having dinner parties, sewing, knitting, cooking, baking, and quilting. She always had to try a new and interesting recipe! Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon J. Larson, whom she married Sept. 15, 1951 and who died December 3, 1988. Surviving is a daughter, Connie J. Moore of Jamestown, NY and a son, Scott E. Larson (Quang Tran) of Fairfax VA and four grandsons, Justin A. Moore of Jamestown, NY, Tayler A. Moore of Jamestown, NY, Evan M. Moore of Buffalo, NY, and Camaron Larson-Tran of Fairfax, VA. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Jeannine Robinson of Bowling Green, OH. and several nieces and nephews, including Marilee Clark of Ashville, NY and Beryl Emley of Ross Mills, NY. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home, led by Rev. Laura Csellak. Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service Thursday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701.

Harry "Punky" L. Kepler, 65, went to be with the Lord on February 18, 2024. He was born to Clyde Kepler Sr. and Veda Kepler Stubbs on December 31, 1958, in Jamestown, New York. He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde; his stepfather, William Stubbs; his brother, Ron; and his sister, Veda. Surviving is his mother and primary caregiver for 65 years, Veda Crippen Kepler Stubbs; as well as Clyde Kepler, Jr., Brenda (Ed) Merwick, and Crystal Bonafede (Ken Priest). He has many surviving nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, and nephews. He was loved by all who had the honor to meet him. His smile and positive attitude was contagious. He has been a member of the Free Methodist Church on 7th St in Jamestown for the last 20 years. He enjoyed going to Rejoicing Spirits in Busti and bowling for the Special Olympics where he won many trophies and medals. He enjoyed shopping and painting crates and birdhouses. Harry was the Easter Seals child of 1968. Harry knew his way around his computer and was a competitive solitaire player. He was the biggest Buffalo Bills fan and never missed watching a game. He also enjoyed music; especially Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, and Mountain Railroad Band (where Amelia Tallman would stand on the back of his wheelchair and they would dance to the wheelchair boogey). He was always happy, good-natured, and fun to be around. He will be greatly missed by many. The funeral will be held 1 pm Friday February 23, at Joy Fellowship at Free Methodist Church. Rev Dodi McIntyre and Rev Roy Fergusen will co-officiate the service. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 pm Thursday at the Lind Funeral Home and an hour before the service from 12 to 1 pm at the church. Burial will be at Cherry Creek Central Cemetery. Mary Ann Rumiano, 86, of Hultquist Place, formerly of Falconer passed away Friday (February 16, 2024) in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing.She was born March 7, 1937 in Elkland, PA, the daughter of the late Louis and Anne Natale Rumiano.Mary Ann was a 1955 graduate of Falconer High School and was employed by the former Marine Midland Bank, and prior to retirement by the Village Pharmacy in Falconer.She was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church and the church’s Altar & Rosary Society. Mary Ann enjoyed cooking, baking, and was known for her blueberry buckle.Surviving is her brother Louis F. Rumiano of Hultquist Place; a nephew Herbert (Alice) Woodard of Frewsburg; two nieces: Ro Woodard (Craig Thompson) of Falconer, Suzanne (Edward) O’Connor of Canandaigua; several grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces, and great grand nephews.Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Agnes A. Woodard and a niece Roberta Joanethis.The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Christ Chapel of the Lutheran Home, 715 Falconer St., Jamestown. Rev. Laura Csellak chaplain of Hultquist Place will officiate. Jackie L. Saboski “Papa Jack”, 91, of Jamestown, NY passed awy Thursday evening February 8, 2024, peacefully in his home surrounded by his daughter Judy and grandson Jacky Lee. He was born February 2, 1933, in Elk County, Fox Township on groundhog’s day in the home of his aunt and uncle to Thelma and Walter Saboski. Jack started school at the age of four in Limestone, PA and finished in Jamestown, NY. He then enlisted in the Navy at 19 years old, serving 13 years. After returning home from the Navy he held several jobs, including driving limousines, operating heavy equipment running a gravel pit, woodworking, private investigation and lastly a dog warden. He was a lover of dogs and animals and once owned a monkey and a skunk. Jack loved going fishing, hunting, and spending time with family. He really did enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation. Jack has two half siblings Billy and Joyce. Jack had five children Walter, Kathy, Louis, Muriel, and Estelle. He ended up making a life with Linda Patterson and raised her kids Dawn, Bill, Judy and Mary, taking them away from a hard life of domestic abuse and poverty. In his later years he made his home with his son Bill then lastly with his daughter Judy and grandson Jacky Lee Sr. Jack gained ten grandchildren Myha, Zack, Brandon, Antonio, Korena, Joseph, Erik, Jacky, Payton, and Alyanna. Two great grandchildren Aaliyah and Jacky Lee Jr. Jackie is preceded in death by his father Walter when Jack was 18, his mother Thelma Pequignot whom he cared for in the home until her passing, two sons Walter and Russel Saboski, a daughter Mary, his best friend Alice Burch and a very close cousin Dick (Sueie) Ruth. To his family he did not have a chance to know, you were thought of often and loved. No services will be observed. There will be an inurnment at a later date where he will be placed with his father in Asbury Cemetery in Bay City, PA.

Justin David Wilcox, 37, died unexpectedly Thursday, February 8, 2024 at his home in Jamestown. He was born September 30, 1986 in Jamestown and was the son of Laurie Dame Frantz and Ronald Wilcox. Justin was a 2006 graduate of Southwestern Central High School and formerly employed by Suit-Kote and more recently as a driver by Hanson Cartage. Justin will be remembered for his big bright smile and infectious laugh with his huge heart of gold and willingness to help others as needed. Justin loved sharing his animated stories with friends & family, hiking, snowboarding, camping, and going on vacations with his momma bear. We will always know he will be looking down on us with his aviator sunglasses ready to encourage us to get out and enjoy life. Most of all he really loved his nieces and nephew. He will be missed by many, but now he is at peace. Survivors include his mother, Laurie (Donald) Frantz of Lakewood; father, Ronald Wilcox of Cassadaga; brother, Scott (Billie) Johnson and nieces and nephew Kylie, Khloe and Kolton of Celoron, NY; and his grandmother, Donalene Bemis of Falconer. Also surviving are aunts and uncles: Helen (Ken) Styers, Cindy (Tim) Mullard, Vickie (Dale) Gorton, Duane (Darlene) Wilcox, Kathy Gray, and Debbie (Jack) Walker; his cousins: Paige (Andrew) Johnson, Trevor (Brittany) Mullard, Charly (Justin) Fellion, Tyler (Kalene) Saulsgiver, Baylee (Chad) Buccola, Jake (Jolene) Saulsgiver, Madison (Logan) Fain, Brianna (Brad) Minor, Cody (Beth) Styers, Jennifer (Gordy) Overturf, Tracie (Josh) Higgs, Jason (Bethiny) Hale, Bobbie Jo Gibbons, Billie Jo (Chris) Lindell, Keri Harrower, and Holly Gray; Justin's loving pets, Frankie and Delilah; as well as many friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence and Mary Dame, and Dave and Ellie Wilcox, and his Aunt Ruth Hale. A Celebration of Life will be held March 3, 2024, a Sunday, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Lakewood American Legion, 174 Chautauqua Ave., Lakewood. Ladd L. Cordner, "Papa", 75, formerly of Bly Hill Rd., Ashville, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at UPMC Chautauqua surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born in Jamestown on October 25, 1948, the son of the late Albert F. and Marie A. Milone Cordner. Following graduation from Jamestown High School, he took the civil service exam for the U.S. Government and became a postal carrier in Jamestown, retiring after 37 years of service. Ladd was known for his love of nature and the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and was well loved in the community. Always smiling with a twinkle in his eye, he was known for his full belly laugh and animated storytelling. He made friends easily and was quick to lend a helping hand to those in need. He'll always be remembered for his deep bass voice, his love of food, and a strong cup of black coffee. Music was a huge part of his life. He sang in the church choir at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, and with the Jamestown Harmony Express for many years along with several different quartets, participating in annual shows and competitions. He was a lifelong member of the SPEBSQSA. Ladd was deeply committed to his faith, also participating in the Koinonia community for several years. Surviving are two daughters, Tina (Ray) Downey of Mayville, and Tessa (Scott) Brozell of Jamestown; a son, Todd (Lisa) Cordner of Falconer; seven grandchildren: Evelyn and Aster Downey, Hunter Gruber, Preston Lanphere, Tucker Campbell, and Dillon and Caleb Cordner; and his sister, Betty (Marshall) Vest of Arizona. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son and a sister, Marie Armele. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Timothy Hoyer will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Ladd always being a very charitable person, his family suggests memorials be made to a charity of one's choosing.

Joann Laurie 75, of Jamestown NY, passed away after an extended illness on February 3, 2024. She was born in Jamestown NY in 1948 to Carmella Bardo Laurie and Joseph Laurie. She attended Jamestown High School and worked at Jamestown sterling for a majority of her young adulthood. Joann loved nothing more than her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved spending time and crafting with her friends. She was an avid bingo and scratch off ticket lover. Most of all she just loved people and would do anything she could to help and support them. Joann was preceded in death by mother Carmella Bardo, Father Joseph Laurie, four sisters Delores Laurie Miller, Mary Jane Laurie, Providence Laurie Sharie, Jennie Laurie Hilyer, a brother James Laurie, a nephew Joseph Laurie and her daughter in law Stacy Laurie. Joann is survived by her brother Micheal Laurie, a son Joseph Laurie, a daughter Marybeth Laurie (Larry) Starks, five granddaughters Ashley Laurie, Stephanie (Christopher) Hall, Laryssa Starks, Brooke Starks, Brittany Soles and two grandsons Steven Joseph Copeland. Great grandchildren Austin, Keaton, Arianna, Jaxson and Hayley as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be held at Saint James Roman Catholic Church on Thursday February 15, 2024 at 10AM with an inurnment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. He married Toni Hunter Santiago on September 10, 1977. Ruben enjoyed fishing and enjoyed nothing more in life than being a father. Anyone who knew Ruben knew what a kindhearted and caring man he was. She was born on September 22, 1940, in Black Rock Arkansas, the daughter of the late Earl and Hazel Mize Smith. Retha attended South Dayton Grade School, Pine Valley High School and was a graduate of Jamestown Business College. She was an active member in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary serving as post president and as Chautauqua County President. She enjoyed homemaking and sending time with her children and grandchildren. Surviving is her husband of 60 years, James "Jim" McNally, whom she married September 21, 1963; her three children: Michael McNally, Maureen (Terry) Winne, Sean (Amy Leone) McNally; grandmother to Patrick, Timothy, Thomas and Sean McNally, Malik and Jenae Pryce, Collin, Allison and Ethan McNally, and Donald Winne; her brother Joseph (Delores Price) Smith of Dayton, NY; her niece Jennifer Jo (Jason) Berg and great nice Aleksander Berg. A funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday February 8, 2024, in the Lind Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday prior to the funeral service. Nancy L. Graham, 87, of Bemus Point, NY passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, January 31, 2024 at Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing Home in Jamestown, NY. She was born on May 2, 1936 in Westfield, NY, the daughter of the late Stanton and Alberta (nee Bills) Betts. She married the love of her life Oscar Graham on June 23, 1962 in Tidioute, Pa. and he preceded her death on May 5, 2013. Nancy graduated from Westfield Academy and Central School in 1954 and was a resident of Bemus Point most of her life. She was employed by Bemus Point Central School, where she worked as a bus driver, retiring after 27 years of service. Nancy always volunteered to take the extra trips taking the students to their sporting events and extracurricular activities. She was her children and the student’s biggest cheerleader and supporter. Nancy participated in many activities, she led her sons Cub Scout troop as a Den Mother, was very involved as a leader in 4-H, made costumes for Bemus Point school musicals. She enjoyed gardening, riding motorcycles, baking, scrapbooking, flower arranging. She loved decorating her home and going on family camping trips. Her memberships included the Bemus Point United Methodist Church, the Westfield Quilters’ Guild and the Bemus Point Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by four loving children, Jeffrey (Kim) Graham of Maple Springs, NY, Randy (Julie) and David (Sue) Graham both of Bemus Point, NY and Diane (David) Pugh of Jamestown, NY; eleven cherished grandchildren, Erin (Nathan) Lord, Christopher Bombardo, Jackson (Katie), Taylor and Trevor Graham, Travis Pugh, Dakota Graham, Kate (Josh) Bartok, Graham Pugh, Brianna Swanson and Skylar Saxton; 12 great-grandchildren; a dear sister, Judy Esperson of Brocton, NY; also survived by many nieces & nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50years Oscar Graham and two brothers, Charles and Arthur Betts.
