Mrs. Nancy Pierce, 62, of Rome, died Tuesday evening, June 21, 2022 in a Rome hospital following a short illness. The former Nancy Gail Penny, she was born in Floyd County July 20, 1959, a daughter of the late James Franklin Penny and the late Mary Lindy Wood Penny. Mrs. Pierce was employed in the housekeeping department at the Holiday Inn for many years, and also at the Chulio Road Nursing Home. She had attended the Providence Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Brandy Slayton; by a step son, Ed Wilson, and by a sister, Mrs. Francis Lee (Dottie) Robinson. Mrs. Pierce is survived by one son, Christopher Penny of Rome, and by three daughters, Tory (Ricardo) Gonzales of Lindale, Mrs. Cassandra (Antonio) Melendres of Lindale, and Ms. Mandi Wilson of Rome. Twelve grandchildren, Brooklyn Thomas, Jasper Penny, Jett Penny, Rosie Penny, Nicholas Gonzales, Samantha Gonzales, Jasmine Gonzales, Maria Gonzales, Jayunn Earwood, Madison Wilson, Isabella Wilson and Daniele Slayton; two great grandchildren, Camden Gonzales, Ryder Gonzales; two brothers, Hank Penny and John Penny and two sisters, Mrs. Debra Evans and Mrs. Joyce Highfield also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Pierce will be held at the graveside of the Providence Cemetery Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 3:15 P. M. with the Rev. Chad Penny officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday afternoon from 2:00 P. M. until 3:00 P. M. John House's Cave Spring Chapel. To to the family or in memory of Mrs. Nancy Pierce, please
