Nancy E Murray, age 84, Logansport, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 5, 2023, in Cedar Creek of Logansport (formerly McKinney Place) Born in Logansport on December 2, 1938, she was the daughter of Francis M and Frances E (Benefiel) Walters On October 4, 1958, also in Logansport, she was married to James C Murray, who preceded her in death on December 10, 2009 A homemaker, Nancy enjoyed card games, good coffee, reading, time on the computer and going out to Bob Evans with her friends She also loved dogs and cleaning her home She also loved her Chap Stick Nancy was stubborn and set in her ways, then finding grace later She always had to have the last word Surviving Nancy are sons, Mark (Rhonda) Murray, Logansport, Rodger (Sherry) Murray, Peru and Michael (Luisa) Murray, Bunker Hill; and sister-in-law, Jackie Walters, Logansport, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren In addition to her husband, Jim, she was preceded in death by daughter, Rita Hall; grandson, Dustin Walker; sister, Marilyn Hite; and brother, Richard Walters Nancy's visitation will be on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, from 4:00 - 7:00 p m , at Kroeger Funeral Home The funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 11:30 a m , also at the funeral home, with Rev Dean Snyder officiating Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery The family wishes to thank Cedar Creek and Physiocare Hospice for their comfort and care for Nancy Memorial contributions may be made to Pets R Us (formerly Cass County Humane Society), 700 Water Street, Logansport, 46947 Kroeger Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements Messages of condolence may be expressed at www kroegerfuneralhome com

Thomas E. "Ed" Hanawalt, age 72, Logansport, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 4th, following a lengthy illness. Born August 7, 1951, in Logansport, he was the son of Harold and Barbara Joan Gibson Hanawalt. His parents preceded him in death. On June 12, 1971, he was married to Becky Dodrill, who survives. Ed was retired from Matthew-Warren. An avid golfer, he loved all sports and traveling, usually to golfing events. Surviving, in addition to his wife, is a daughter and son-in-law, Trisha and Matt Mancini, Arizona; brother, Mike Hanawalt, Logansport; sisters, Becky (Terry) Grandstaff and Cathy (Mike) Morrow, all of Logansport. Also surviving are grandchildren, Joshua Hanawalt, Keygan Hanawalt, Salem Hanawalt, Averi Mancini, Brodie Mancini, Cameron Mancini; five great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. A son, Trampas Hanawalt, and brother, Greg Hanawalt, preceded him in death. Visitation will be Saturday, December 9th, from 10:00 a. m. to 1:00 p. m. at Kroeger Funeral Home. The Logansport Elks Lodge #66 will conduct a memorial service during visitation, prior to the funeral. The funeral service and Celebration of Ed's Life will be at 1:00 p. m. Saturday, with Rev. Edith Madeline (Scagnoli) Hildebrandt went to be with her loving Savior and Lord, surrounded by her family, on November 23rd, 2023. Born in Logansport December 19th, 1927, her parents were Giuseppe Scagnoli and Marfina Marocco, of Logansport Indiana. Edie was a life-long member of All-Saints Catholic Church (formerly St. Joseph's), where she married the love of her life, Alan Hildebrandt, on February 7, 1948. Alan preceded her in death on May 16th, 2023, after more than 75 years of marriage. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, "Edie" was a life-long homemaker in every sense of the word. Her family was central to her life, and included her daughter Ann, who preceded her in death November 27, 2018, son Mark, her five adult sisters and six adult brothers and their families, the Hildebrandt side of her family, which included Alan's brothers John and Hiram, and their wives, children and grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and their families. Edie made friends easily and counted those wonderful friends as family. She graduated from Logansport High School in 1945 and attended Indiana Business College. She spent a number of years as a loyal volunteer of many organizations, most notably, with the Red Cross in many capacities, including After Hours Armed Forces Emergency Services liaison for 30 years, Board Member and Chair, and Blood Bank Chair, with more than 50 years with the American Red Cross. Other notable accomplishments and affiliations include a 2010 Distinguished Hoosier Award (along with Alan), All Saints Ladies Society, 30+ year St. Vincent DePaul volunteer, Second Mother's Study Club, Past President and member of Kila Club, member of Tri Kappa active and associate chapters, serving as President, and St. Joseph Hospital Gray Lady volunteer. Like Alan, Edie enjoyed playing the thought-provoking card-game "bridge" and enjoyed countless times playing with other couples and her beloved "bridge ladies". Edie is survived by son Mark (Barbara) Hildebrandt, grandchildren Timothy "TJ" (Elaine) Carson, Liz Carson (Zach), Katie (Jeremy) Collins, Dr. Megan (Connor) Adams, Andrew Hildebrandt (Kaylee) and great grand-daughter Jordyn Collins. Edie was preceded in death by husband Alan, daughter Ann, Edie's parents, her five sisters, five of her six brothers, and more than a few nieces and nephews. She was especially grateful to the loving residents and Staff at Cedar Creek Assisted Living who all welcomed her warmly as part of their vibrant and caring community the last three months of her life. The Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, November 29th, at All Saints Catholic Church. Father Michael Block will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 a. m. to 10:45 a. m. Wednesday. Prior to the funeral mass, in the Parish Hall at All Saints Church. Lucille B. Zarse, 89, of Lafayette, IN, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. She was born on March 22, 1934 in Logansport, Indiana to the late Robert and Addie (Siferd) Burris. Lucille graduated from Burnettsville High School in 1952. Her first marriage was to the late Maurice E. Henry. Her second marriage was to Harold W. Zarse on May 1, 1976. They were married 37 years before he preceded her in death on August 15, 2013. Lucille was a homemaker. Many years ago, she worked at Loeb's Department Store in downtown Lafayette. She enjoyed photography, reading, visiting with friends, and playing with her cats. Surviving are her daughter, Teresa (Kenny) Pearson of Lafayette; her grandchildren, Nathan Pearson and Andrea Henry; her great grandchildren, Abbi McDole, Kyleigh Pearson, and Bailey Pearson; her great great grandchildren, October, Ryder, Luna, Jupiter, Goldie, Violet, and Ezekiel. Also surviving are her stepchildren, Karen Zarse and Gary Zarse and several step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Henry; her daughter, Cynthia Henry; her grandchildren, Maureen Henry and Gabriel Pearson; and her siblings, Marilyn (Bob) Lind, Margaret (Bob) Suiter, and Ralph (Marge) Burris. Elaine Abner, 96, lifelong resident of Logansport, Indiana, died on Saturday, November 4th, 2023. She was born on May 2, 1927, in Logansport to Joseph and Mildred Shepler. She was a 1945 graduate of Logansport High School and her senior yearbook described her as lovely to look at. In 1947, she married Charles H. Wilkinson, Jr. , and in 1949, they had their only child, Sarah Jane Wilkinson. After divorcing, Elaine worked at Bailey's clothing store as a buyer, where she utilized her exquisite sense of style and impeccable taste for which she will always be remembered. In 1985, she married Dr. Gardner "Doc" Abner. They lived at their Pompano Beach condo and their beloved farm, Fitch's Glen, where they shared a love of gardening, collecting antiques, and their cats. In her memory, enjoy a glass of White Zinfandel or chocolate custard from the Sycamore Drive-In. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; Joseph and Mildred Shepler; her husband, Dr. Gardner Abner; her grandson, Evan Stajduhar; and her brother, Joseph W. Shepler. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Michael Stajduhar of Logansport, Indiana; her grandchildren, Ellie (Tim) Pyles of Scranton, Pennsylvania, Mickey Stajduhar and Annie Stajduhar, both of Logansport, Indiana; and her great-grandchildren, Kesling and Libby Pyles. A funeral service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church on Wednesday, November 8th, at 11:00 a. m. Visitation will be from 9:00 a. m. to 10:45 a. m. in the Parish House at Trinity Episcopal Church. She was born on June 10, 1940 in Peacock, MI to the late Arthur and Pauline [Vasicek] Bosley. Wanda grew up in Branch, MI where she graduated from high school. She was married to James Shanklin, Sr. for 30 years. He passed away on May 16, 2020. Wanda enjoyed gardening and canning. Saturday, October 14th, in Franciscan Lafayette East Hospital. Born in Logansport November 28, 1957, he was the son of John E. and Marybelle Spencer Howard. On November 4, 1976, in Twelve Mile, he was married to Deborah Hudson, who survives, along with their precious, spoiled dog Elsa. Ralph served ten years in the United States Air Force and later in the Army National Guard. He had been employed in retail sales. Sam enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a big fan of the Miami "Dolphins". Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters, Amanda Howard (Heath Hughes), Ashley Howard (Clarence Taylor); and a son, Austin (Kellee) Howard, all of Logansport; grandchildren, Yilian, Avery, Alijah, Alyssa, Aleyah, Alexia, Kell and Katherine. Also surviving is a brother, Ronald (Susan) Howard, Midwest City, Oklahoma; and sister, Marcelyn (Jack) Deisher, Logansport. Sam was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeremy Howard, and three brothers. The funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p. m. Friday, October 20th, at Kroeger Funeral Home, with the Rev.
