Nancy J. "Nanny" Meyers, 82, of West Scranton died Tuesday June 21, 2022 at the Allied Services Hospice Center. She was the widow of Joseph Meyers who died in 1981. Born in Scranton she was the daughter of the late William and Marcella Judge Long. A graduate of West Scranton High School, prior to retirement she was employed by Custom Services Inc. Nancy loved watching softball games, going to the casino and enjoyed long rides to the country in the car. She was affectionately known by all as "Nanny" for always taking care of her family and everyone's little children. She will be missed by all who knew her. Nancy's family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the nurses and staff of Allied Services Hospice and to In Home Personal Care Services in Moosic for al of their kind and compassionate care. She is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by her children Roy Harrity and wife Theresa, Factoryville, Jack Harrity, Scranton, William Harrity, and wife Susan, Scranton, Nancy Vacchiano and husband Mike, Scranton, her primary caregiver Marcella-Marcy Meyers, Scranton, Joseph Meyers, Berwick, Thomas Meyers, Scranton, and Tanya Meyers Hazelton, Scranton; sisters Marcella Schraeder and husband Matthew, Alice Horne and husband James, Peggy Flowers and husband Butch; brother William Long; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter. The funeral will be conducted Friday from the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc. , 1030 N. Main Ave. , with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Patrick's Church, 1403 Jackson St. Interment Cathedral Cemetery.
