Nancy E. (Kelly) Marlowe - passed away at her home unexpectedly, Wednesday, April 19th, 2023. The beloved wife of the late John "Jack" Marlowe, she was eighty-one years of age. Born in Brooklyn, New York she was one of two children born to the late Ernest C. and Mary R. (Walsh) Kelly. Nancy was raised and educated in East Boston, where she was a graduate of Fitton High School (East Boston Central Catholic) in 1959. After High School, Nancy secured herself a position at the Shawmut Bank of Boston, where she met Jack Marlowe. When they were introduced there, yes, it was love at first sight! They began a relationship which spanned over the next forty-nine years, and were married for forty seven years. They brought three children into the world, to whom she dedicated her life too. Having married in 1962, they moved to Woburn in 1965 making North Woburn their home. Nancy remained at home with her children, till they were all in school and then she too began school. She attended Middlesex Community College where she received her Associates Degree from their Dental Assistant program. After graduating, she worked for Dr. James Reilly in his dentist office as an office manager in Burlington. She later went to work for Dr. Martin Cutler, an Ophthalmologist, in his Woburn office. After moving to Ipswich, Nancy transferred to Dr. Cutler's Gloucester office. Many, many wonderful years were spent there at their home in Ipswich, beginning when the children were grown and on their own, right up to 2020. The memories are abounding! Throughout the years she, Jack and the kids did quite a bit of travelling together as a family, continuing that mode all throughout the years with their children and grandchildren! She and Jack were also able to catch a few of their own trips together! Disney Cruises, European Cruise, Barcelona, Italy, Normandy, St. Marten's, Paris, Switzerland, Cross Country by Rail, and most recently to the San Juan Islands off the Coast of Washington, just to name a few! They had fabulous times with each other, family and friends, all the while visiting and sharing all the new islands, countries, scenery and cultures, by planes, boats and automobiles. Retiring at sixty-five, now allowed Nancy all the time she had to volunteer, work part time at an upscale woman's boutique, where she was able to continue her fine flare of clothing and fashion, and of course, just continue right along with her traveling expeditions with her friends. Several years ago, she made her home in Brooksby Village where she just joined right in participating and helping out wherever she could. From helping others in the community there, to assisting at the thrift shop, Nancy was excited to be a character in a play at Brooksby Village. Her role was to be a maid with an eastern European accent. The director asked her to tone it down, she was going to steal all the laughs - and that she did! Nancy lived every day to the fullest. Her family was her life and all throughout her lifetime, she surrounded herself with the love of family and trusted good friends. A life well lived and thoroughly enjoyed. Devoted mother of Gail A. Marlowe of Wilmington, Brian C. Marlowe, his wife Julie of Woburn, and John F. Marlowe, Jr. , his wife Linda of Tewksbury. Dear sister of Stanley R. Kelly, his wife Cathy of Revere and dearest cousin of James Goodwin of Lynn. Adored grandmother of Brian C. Kelley, his wife Loralie, Christopher B. , Jack R. , Lauren J. , and Lyndsay A. Marlowe, her fiance Matthew Leiskau along with great grandchildren Dylan, Brendan and Ethan Kelley. Dearest Aunt of Lynne and Aaron Kelly and the late Dawn Kelly. A Funeral Service will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Thursday morning, April 27th, at 10 a. m. Interment in Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
