Nancy Dunlop Macey was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She died peacefully on May 7 after a short battle with Cancer. She was born to the late William and Jeanne Dunlop on September 25, 1940 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was sister to Eileen Black, Wayne Dunlop, and the late Scott Dunlop, and in-law to Catherine Dunlop and Ira Black. She is survived by her two children, Maureen Thir and Chris Macey and daughter in law Doris Macey, preceded in death by her son in law, Jonathan Thir. She also had 7 grandchildren; Nicky, Sarah, Isabelle, Aliza, Wyatt, Ian, and Nathan. She was most well known for her artistic personality. She always saw the beauty in everything and would try to capture it. She was an excellent painter who went to classes to further her talents and taught what she learned to many. She would sell her paintings and crafts at fairs and would often donate to good causes. She was always a bright and cheerful person to talk to. She loved to watch skating shows, Clay Aiken concerts, and the opera. She attended high school at Upper Darby high school in Drexel Hill and then graduated to further her academic experience at Bloomsburg College, where she majored in education. She went on to then teach immigrants and disadvantaged students so that they could go get their GED. She then went on to work with her brother in construction in the Estimating Department at Barclay White Incorporated where she worked for 27 years before she retired.
