JEFFERY, NANCY I. - Of Flint, age 88, died Monday, September 11, 2023 at her home. Funeral service will be held at 1 p. m. Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Minister Rigel Dawson officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation 5 p. m. - 8 p. m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Nancy Jeffery was born in Melbourne, Arkansas the daughter of Charley and Audrey (Carter) Wiles on September 27, 1934. She graduated from high school in 1952 and in the same year, became the bride of Hubert M. Jeffery, Jr. , her high school sweetheart and married in Melbourne, Arkansas. Nancy moved to Michigan and began a family. She was a member of Bristol Road Church of Christ. Mrs. Jeffery enjoyed her daily one mile walk in the mall, sewing and reading. Her family believed she made the best chocolate chip cookies and homemade stuffing! Nancy was office assistant at Happy Elephant Day Care for 23 years, retiring in 2009. Nancy is survived by her husband, Hubert; 2 sons, Ronnie (Colleen) and Roger (Pam); daughter-in-law, Mary; 2 daughters, Karen (Don) Phillips and Kathy (Bud) Hagar; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Phil (Jan) Wiles; 2 sisters, Martha Breese and Judy Brookshire. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Larry; two brothers, Ed and Bill Wiles.

GOLDMAN, Gale Allison (Gilmer) -- of Flint, Michigan, age 65, died peacefully on December 3, 2023. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, December 6 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc (The funeral will be available to be viewed by livestream at Gale's page at www. sharpfuneralhomes. com) Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 AM until the time of the funeral on Wednesday December 6. Gale was born June 21, 1958, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Phillip A. Gilmer and Louise May (Miller) Troupe. Gale attended Flint Southwestern High School and Baker Business College. She resided for many years in Palatine, Illinois where she raised her children with husband Ian Goldman. After Ian died in 2011, Gale returned to Michigan, eventually reuniting with high school sweetheart Bill Belcher. Gale was a loving mother and grandmother, sister, and aunt. She had a sweet and sensitive nature and was committed to social justice. She loved all animals and especially cats, dogs, and horses. She learned to ride in later life and enjoyed taking care of her horse. Gale was an avid collector of dolls and doll houses, as well as curios and collectibles of all sorts. She was a passionate fan of the Beatles, the Detroit Tigers, the Chicago Cubs, and enjoyed watching golf, old movies, and TV shows. Other pastimes included reading, gardening, and assembling miniature houses. Gale had a spirit of adventure and loved traveling, amusement parks and high adrenaline activities like zip-lining. Gale went into rehab in 2014 and maintained sobriety for the rest of her life. Along the way, she became a person of faith which brought her solace as her body succumbed to cancer. Gale will be deeply missed by her partner Bill Belcher, sons Philip (Granneta) Taylor, Jonathon (Doris) Goldman and Ryan (Stephane) Goldman; grandchildren Ian Goldman, Dominic Goldman, Austin Goldman and Gabriell Balatero; siblings Mart (Winnie) Gilmer, Boak (Debbie) Gilmer, Toni (Jerry DeVries) Perrine, Kelly (Vern) Freer, Paul (Cindy) Gilmer, and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. KREIDER, Rev. H. James - Age 93, of Flint and Intersession City, FL, passed away Friday, December 1, 2023. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Flint First Wesleyan Church, 3825 Davison Road, Flint. Pastor Gary Curell, Pastor Jim Cochran and Pastor Chadrick Brown officiating. Entombment in the Mausoleum at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held at the Church Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Heather Creek Church, 118 E. Belvidere Ave. , Flint, MI 48503. Rev. James was born May 9, 1930 in Detroit, the son of Horace Bloom and Gazella (Sebree) Kreider. He was a 1948 graduate of Owosso High School and Owosso Bible College. He married Katherine Louise Easter August 1, 1950 in Owosso. He had resided in the Flint area since 1966. Rev. James spent the past 75 years in the ministry and 47 years pastoring in the Wesleyan Church. He owned Living Color Creations Church Pictorials. He also sang in a quartet, was minister of music, and did evangelistic work. Surviving are: his wife of 73 years, Katherine; children, Linda (Rev. Gary) Curell of Mayville, Sandra (Patrick) Brown of Flint, Wanda (Rev. James) Cochran of Port Charlotte, FL and James E. Kreider (Diane Dexel) of Flint; 18 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Frances Thompson of Oklahoma, Ruth Dexter of Jackson and Anna (Larry) Bontrager of Cadillac; brothers-in-law, Tony Albarello of Crystal Falls and James Green of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Esther Green, Mary Albarello and Martha Bird; and brother, Paul Kreider; brothers-in-law, Jerry Dexter, Dan Thompson, Don Bird and D. L. Stafford.
