Tampa, FL

Nancy Foster passed away August 16, 2023 in her home in Tampa, Florida where she had lived for 38 years. She was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1938. She attended high school at St. Brendan's in Brooklyn and Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey. Nancy met her husband, Paul who predeceased her, when they both worked at McGregor Sportswear in Manhattan. They married in 1959 and were married for almost 49 years. Her patience was clearly the secret sauce for the longevity of their marriage. Although her beloved Buffalo Bills could not win one before she passed, she is undoubtedly drinking wine with Paul and rooting them on from heaven. She also was a devoted follower of the New York Yankees, who had substantially more success than the Bills. In addition to raising her five children, she welcomed numerous children into her home whose circumstances were unfortunate and Paul never knew who would show up around the dinner table. Nancy's love language was food. Rarely could you show up at her house without being offered something to eat. She thought food was the salve to cure all ills and the way to celebrate all things large and small. Her extraordinary meatballs had no recipe but luckily she taught all her children and grandchildren what it took to make them deliciouso. . Sunday sauce was a tradition and the aroma of garlic frying in oil will always bring memories of her. Nancy worked as a title clerk at Reeves Import Motor Cars for about 20 years and then at Furman Motor Car Co. for an additional 20 years until shortly before her passing. She is survived by her children Monica (Robert Hammerle), Kevin(Debbie), Michael (April), Sharon, and Brian; and five grandchildren, Nikki Kiefer (Matt), Patrick, Briannon (Anthony Benafield,), Jordan, and Cassidy. A visitation will be held at MacDonald Funeral Home on Monday, August 21st, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 22nd, at 10:00am. Nancy will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, in Bushnell.
